I reaally appreciate the part when you said to have a set up that we're going love and be comfortable with. I never thought bout that, and thank you so much!
My most recent upgrade was a $10 split gaming keyboard (just the left side) to use for shortcut when digital drawing. It's one of the best cost effective upgrades I've done in a while. Before I was over extending my arm reaching for my laptop's keyboard and after long hours of drawing I was feeling it. Now, I feel more comfortable while drawing. Still need a few more adjustments to the entire setup but I'll get there eventually. Thank you for this wonderful video.
Nice! I had one of those thingies for a while. They're great! I did a live-drawing event where I was 'visually recording' a conference with my drawings projected on a big screen, I used a surface pro tablet with the one handed keyboard and I felt right at home as if I were on my PC with full KB & Tablet.
I agree with the last last portion of the video. I'm into aromatherapy so I'll get a nice candle from like Marshalls/TJMax where they are discounted. and just plop on the desk and light it up when it's time to get productive.
Something that was not covered but is equally as important is - PSU. Doesn't matter if you are building entry level or super fancy gaming rig, a trustworthy psu should be a must. Check the most popular and trusted brands before purchasing. Do not buy those cheap Chinese knockoff brand psu's.Having a hdd is still important due to the price diffenrence between ssd. You can keep os and programs in ssd and backups, games, videos, cashe files in hdd. Ssd's have have a finite read/write cycles, so over time it will degrade. So, just keep large files in a hdd. I would love to change my fhd monitor to uhd but maybe I will get some small prop or poster or something that I connect with.
Good point about the PSU! I'm going to do another video on "what kind of computer do you need for digital art" with some more in-depth discussion of components, I'll definitely touch on the PSU stuff there.
Wonderful video breaking down why some might need to spend more money on one area than others. I am fortunate enough to have some money saved up and decided it was time to upgrade my workspace! As an artist 🎨 (getting into more digital art) and gamer 🎮 who just landed a job working from home, my drafting desk needed upgrades fast. I was working off from an old Surface Pro 4 (which has been great for school purposes but cannot handle gaming or video editing/art process) and ordered an ASUS GA-15DK-DS776 all-in-one PC (due to COVID limitations) with plenty of storage space and a kickass graphics card. I also got a Keychron K4 with some artisan keys, custom coiled cord and a leather desk pad for “my soul”. I am excited to say the least!
Oh wow that sounds heavenly! I was on a Surface Pro (the original) for a while, it's great as a portable 'sketchbook', but I could never get anything substantial done on it.
The 5600g will work perfectly for you! I built a small no-gpu machine with the older 3200g, and even that works great in photoshop. Be aware though that the iGPU integration in Adobe Illustrator doesn't work properly. Photoshop is great, but Illustrator is broken for now. If you're not worried about Illustrator then you'll be just fine with the 5600g. That's a great processor with a great iGPU.

That's what I like to hear 😌

@@Doodlemachine man that sounds like so much fun!
@@justinransburg5560 I was very nervous before the event, but once I got going I had a great time and met lots of awesome people :)
@@Doodlemachine how many people came up to you and asked "did you draw that?"?

SSD have finite read/writes, but you'll not reach that point anytime soon. This is something that was more of an issue in early ssd days.
What PSU do you recommend?

Thanks for saying so!
Wait a darn sec…you remind me of a certain someone that loves the color orange and black combination AND talks about pcs….hmmm…
And do you thing 60hz or 75hz will affect my work in photoshop I do digital painting
I doubt it. Maybe if you went from 60hz to 144hz you'd notice a difference, but I doubt it'd make your art any better or worse to be honest.
Great video. Subbed!
Welcome!
I make digital paintings in photoshop and normal video editing
Do you think 5600g which is a Apu would work good without any external graphic card?
