I can't thank you enough for posting this video. I bought a second-hand Craftsman weed whacker (made by Poulan, with an identical power head) and found that the fuel lines were shot. I bought it to trim up this maple before it was taken down and this thing is wonderful and the blade is so sharp. The best thing is once the tree was on the ground using it to cut all the smaller branches instead of bending over with a regular chainsaw. It was so much easier on the back and not tripping over branches with a running chainsaw in hand and it cuts great. Got it with a special 20 bucks off but still well worth it without discount. Great video -had this trimmer for 15 years. Replaced carburetor 5 years ago and it ran better than ever. Used an OEM Zama almost as cheap as the rebuild kit. Emptying all traces of fuel before hibernation prevents fuel system from gumming up. But, I'm told, because that will make the diaphragm dry, it will make it brittle. So obviously that is the choice that you make, so no point asking you which would be your choice!

Each year I have to go out and cut them all down. I like having the trees in my yard for shade, so I don't want to just cut the entire trees down. But I also walk my dogs in my yard and don't appreciate bobbing and weaving past low hanging branches either. A motorized pole saw is an effective and easy answer to that problem.
I have the PP125 Poulan Pro. Wont' start. New Plug with good spark, new ignition module. Removed carb and cleaned and installed Rebuild kit. Good compression @ 100 psi. I tried spraying starter fluid both in the cylinder and carb. Still won't start. No spark arrestor to clean. Anyone out there with a suggestion?
yes i,d use a pole pruning saw for sure no problem as they are a safer method than using a Chainsaw on a ladder and they have been linked to serious injury and are not made for that purpose of use etc.
I really don’t know the benefits this engine has over one with the tank on the bottom. Either it was cheaper or it allowed them to put on a bigger fuel tank
Low side mixture is off. Turn it to Midway between lean and rich... Then Back it out another 1/4 turn. It'll idle all day and snap to when you squeeze the trigger.

Each year I have to go out and cut them all down. It never fails that the next year the limbs will grow in the spring and start to droop down in the summer continuing the cycle of needing a pole saw over and over again. I like having the trees in my yard for shade, so I don't want to just cut the entire trees down. But I also walk my dogs in my yard and don't appreciate bobbing and weaving past low hanging branches either. A motorized pole saw is an effective and easy answer to that problem.
yes a pole saw, can be very useful, every now and then.
Did this and it will not start. Put gas in carb and it will start but not run. Thanks
Thanks for the comment I appreciate it. Try doing a compression test. If its good try replacing the carb
When was the last time it was running? What did you set the air gap to on the ignition module?
@@HomeGaragechannel Last spring. Used business card to set air gap 0.10
@@wallacetom1 was it ever used with the edger attachment?
@@HomeGaragechannel Trimmer and Pole Saw
@@wallacetom1 okay that's good to hear. You might have to remove the flywheel and see if the key is sheared on it.
Fixing our fuel line identify problem
yes i,d use a pole pruning saw for sure no problem as they are a safer method than using a Chainsaw on a ladder and they have been linked to serious injury and are not made for that purpose of use etc.
you make a really good point.
Not a primer bulb its a purge bulb to be PC the bulb pulls fuel through carb and pushes out to tank
Hey thanks for the comment
I really don’t know the benefits this engine has over one with the tank on the bottom. Either it was cheaper or it allowed them to put on a bigger fuel tank
not sure either, but the one thing that's good is the displacement. it's quite the powerhouse
Nice, binge watching today, still off work.
I have an electric one a friend gave me,
Nice. Thanks for the binging. I appreciate it
Wow, it definitely looked painful trying to put the air filter base back on. I can see why you're not a fan of this design. Great video as usual.
thank you Danny Boy
Thank you so much for sharing. Your video is a big help, clearly demonstrates and go to the point.....👏❤️🌹👄🙏 🙏🙏
Thanks and No problem
You didn't state how long the return line should be in the tank
there is no minimal or max length, that means it's up to you. For me, I leave it at about half and inch just to make sure it won't fall it out.
Love your videos....
Thank you Mohamed Nazeel for the comment.
With that long pole then the saw it seems to top heavy to be practical
Thank you hunter1953 for the comment. Yes since its a low end model the pole is Steel and very heavy.
ok so I have a poulan pro pole saw that will start but if you press the throtal it will not run
Low side mixture is off. Turn it to Midway between lean and rich... Then Back it out another 1/4 turn. It'll idle all day and snap to when you squeeze the trigger.
I tried this but did not help is there something else to check
Everybody wants a pole saw just they are three times the price of trimmers
that's very true
Thank's
Thank you.

Poo-lan? It's pronounced pole-len
Thank you for the comment
@@HomeGaragechannel your welcome. I like to help people
If Poulan is German, and I think it is; then it is pool-len. When pronouncing German names the second vowel is pronounced. The first vowel is silent.
No don’t need one.
You are kidding me that is the worst piece of junk equipment .a
yes its not very popular
@@HomeGaragechannel good video, 15 minutes of cutting limbs, leads to 2 hours of dragging limbs!
@@alanc1490 so very true. Thanks for the comment I appreciate it
Totally sorry video.
I wish I could make it better
@@HomeGaragechannel don't apologise for this. This video is extremely well made. Good job!
