I remember that. One of the funniest things ever. Kenny is trying to interview him in a toilet about his job as the attendant. And Billy is in utter hysterics, all the time Ken is doing the intro, and when he comes to ask his first question (Billy is still in creases) he just goes...."Ah cant remember mah lines!"
Which sets Ken off and the Audience. And they do so many takes where they both collapse in giggles, its funnier than what they are trying to do, which was pretty funny anyway. They were both friends with each other and Billy puts in many appearances on Kens shows from the Video Show on ITV to his Television Show on the BBC, right up to the end of the run. Its amazing to see, Video show starts in 1978 and I think his last Tv Show is 1989 and then he goes back to radio for his few remaining years. @@synthonaplinth5980

This is crazy that this was filmed over 40 years ago. It makes me feel so old. 2 legends of comedy. 1 being in the top 5 greatest stand up comedians in the world ever, IMO, and one of the greatest TV/radio comedians ever (atleast in the UK). Kenny Everett was taken away from us way too soon. HIV, and AIDS was a horrible disease (still is!) But it is great that the treatment available, and the drugs that can prevent it are far more advanced these days, it isn't such a killer that it once was.

All the other comedian's of the time were just telling jokes with punchlines. I guess it is called observational comedy. You've got to remember he went to Hollywood to star in movies and sitcoms, and only the best British stand up comedian's get that kind of offer.

Try playing this stuff on the ABC TV OR radio and the entire staff would need counselling for weeks and demanding that laughter be banned so no one's feelings got hurt. Their phone lines would dissolve in a huge puddle of tears from their supporters.

Always appreciated Billy Connolly, in various interviews his descriptions of Glasgow were often dark and foreboding, and based on that and some time spent in Glasgow in 1976 made me bless my great grandfather who made the magnificent decision in 1848 to emigrate from Scotland to the province of Otago ( Port Chalmers) New Zealand departing from Elgin.
Now having lived in Australia for decades and having paid to see Billy........the money was well spent and we laughed ourselves silly, Billy yelled out to our group, " what have you guys been drinking"? and indeed we had, ...Irish whiskey....and we were loud in appreciation....on ya mate!
As a family we never looked back however maintain the view of Scottish independence from Britain and the origins of the sad history that ultimately created such great numbers of migration to the new worlds.

Only Kenny Everett could make shooting silly string at people so funny as you can see Billy loving the anarchy of it. He was a gloriously childish rebel who left us far too early. Interesting that both he and Billy fought with their inner demons for years and both were marvellously inventive and unique. The BBC never really seemed to know how to handle Kenny, yet they kept hiring and firing him. Even when he was very sick towards the end of his life he kept his madcap sense of humour and wit. Kenny was also one of the few music journalists/DJ's that British musicians trusted. He got on well with the Beatles when they were still together (possibly because he didn't represent the establishment) and people like David Bowie, Rod Stewart and Freddie Mercury were more than happy to let him lampoon them as they knew there was no underlying malice in it.
