Love his sense of humour. Michael Caine never got big headed but had both feet planted firmly on the ground & always remembered where he came from. The first film I saw him in was Zulu & he was the epitome of British elegance & Aristocracy - one would never have guessed that he was from much more humble beginnings building himself up to be one of the great renowned actors of today.
Both of his books; "What's it all about" & "The Elephant to Hollywood" read just like this interview; just like he's telling it to you over tea & biscuits at the kitchen table after having just dropped by for a chat.
Michael's the best Raconteur ever!!! How he tells his anecdotes is amazingly funny. True to but Funny. Love him so much. God bless you Maurice Mickelwaite.
Parkinson just had a way with people. Prince or pauper. Never look up to someone never look down on anyone. Always look them all straight in the eye. Great men both❤️❤️
@DavidReilly-z9g Parky had his moments, I saw him once when was most obnoxious with a Guest who wasn't at all impressed by his status, which he objected to in a very snide manner.
at 30:31 that just creased me up. My mobile fell off my bed, i was laughing so hard. He's got this way with words. Some of his Anecdotes are brilliant. A fabulous Raconteur is Michael. Gosh I wish he was my brother.
Michael Caine is a wonderful human being and this interview is everything a great interview should be. Michael Parkinson's chat shows were all entertaining, but this one is exceptional.
Zulu: my husband liked it and i hated the whole idea and so my son put it in my husband's blazer when he was lying in the funeral home. He was buried with thr film in his jacket pocket. I love Michael caine andhis films in the 1960s. His clothes in the Italian job were the height of fashion. I love that movie so much.
Absolutely amazing, well done guys, love the banter and the whole interview was superb and so damned entertaining. Thanks so very much for this and Michael Parkinson was the best interviewer ever. RIP Michael.
From an age when mainstream television did a pretty good job of entertaining most people and celebrities had earned that sobriquet by actually being worth watching and listening to.
Michael Caine is not only one of our best actors, but his interviews are interesting, and he is so funny. My eyes were full of tears when he spoke about his half brother🇬🇧🇹🇷🇬🇧🇹🇷
Sir Michael Caine is so Charismatic and engaging that he could tell a story about brushing his teeth, making a cup of tea or washing the dishes and he would have my rapt attention.
Talk shows don't do this deep conversation anymore! Where interesting people talk about their lives, today it's all about promoting their films or their books. Who remembers Peter Ustinov James Cagney John Wayne James Stewart, etc.! I really miss this kind of interview!
Very interesting, I just wish that the video quality was better. But ,hey, if you want to feel like u are watching TV in the '60 - '70's ENJOY ! 😉 ✌️🕊️
That Michael Caine I tell you he gets into every movie I come across, think I saw him at the back in a photo of my Great Uncle's wedding and now he's got on this telly show.
I remenber the interview with Shaun Connery Michael Caine Michael was very composed and projected confidence and self belief, he mcame across as a more secure person than the late great brave Shaun .
Use the difficulty equates to the adage - Make the most of a bad situation. Haven't seen all his work but Alfie and the music score was excellent. Glad that he's married to the love of his life - and what a life.
What a brilliant interview, 2 gifted and highly entertaining men. Cane Hill in Coulsdon, David Bowie's brother was also a patient there. I guess "not a lot of people know that".
at 16.34 minute mark i like how michael parkinson shifted his interview when he sensed michael caine was being drawn into his sense memory . parkinson is a great host!
What I say of theater is that" it is an exercise in low self esteem . Which proves I've done it, and I even did a lead part where I had to play to the audience for 50 minutes, which is a lot and I don't have that great a memory and I want rehearsals. If I was to direct either a movie or a theater piece I'd have rehearsals till it was a movie that was flawless. A film, till great performances came easy for all the actors and the crew. I don't know young actors any more and want a great casting director because of that now.
Thank God We have Michael Caine with us, someone from the old GENTLEMEN school: WHO IS THERE LEFT: ? A WORLD THAT HAS GONE BY: A WORLD WHERE IT WAS SAFE AND HAPPY TO LIVE WITH THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE: AND VERY CLOSE FAMILY LIFE, HONESTY, RESPECT, HONOUR, & FREE TIME TO GIVE TO YOUR FAMILY FRIENDS: GOD BLESS HIM AND HIS FAMILY
I am an Australian 72 year old and just returned after 20 years in England. I was living in Tooting Broadway and often needed to go to elephant and castle which led to a love affair with the tube and northern line in particular ❤
We have no interviewers today who could get the best out of each guest, regardless of field of interest. Graham Norton is excellent in his comedic way but Michael had serious and comical interviewees.
What a wonderful surprise, two down to earth lads chatting about life while finding humor in not so bright moments overcoming thr adversity. Sharing this and certainly revisiting several times. Applaud Maurice Micklewhite and you sir.
ANOTHER ABSOLUTE GEM FOR YOU #foryou

Don't think I've ever seen a more open, honest interview given by an actor. ♥
Michael's the best Raconteur ever!!! How he tells his anecdotes is amazingly funny. True to but Funny. Love him so much. God bless you Maurice Mickelwaite.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful video with Caine I loved it and laughed a lot
Michael Caine is simply the best!!!!
WHAT A FABULOUS INTERVIEW WITH AN ABSOLUTE ICON ❤
Thank you very much Gentlemen for this fantastic interview with so many memories and insights. It was an absolute joy!
Thank You 😊 🙏
Can never grow tired of relistening to Caine's interviews. Reminds me of the American chat shows during the 60s and early 70s.
PROPER TV
Parkinson just had a way with people. Prince or pauper. Never look up to someone never look down on anyone. Always look them all straight in the eye. Great men both❤️❤️

Michael is incredibly gifted. I have watched all of his movies and some several times.
I thoroughly enjoyed this terrific interview.
Thank You 😊 🙏
Two great British treasures
Caine's philosophy is great. I've taken mental note. What a fantastic interview.
Watched this particular interview a few times. Still fresh ideas, and very funny at times. I Miss Parkie. Wish we saw his interviews on tv still....
Michael Caine is not only one of our best actors, but his interviews are interesting, and he is so funny. My eyes were full of tears when he spoke about his half brother🇬🇧🇹🇷🇬🇧🇹🇷
Absolutely 💯
Michael Cain was a real man and a gentleman. I wish there were more of him.
He's still alive...
"If it's not for sale, You shouldn't put it in the window" What a great line.
A great giggle, thank you. Michael Caine is a very funny man. Brilliant interview.
Thank You
Sir Michael Caine is so Charismatic and engaging that he could tell a story about brushing his teeth, making a cup of tea or washing the dishes and he would have my rapt attention.
Pure pleasure. MC a total treat!
One of my favourite films that Mr Caine refers to that he was currently making in Texas with Robert Duval, Second Hand Lions.
It's just superb.
Talk shows don't do this deep conversation anymore! Where interesting people talk about their lives, today it's all about promoting their films or their books. Who remembers Peter Ustinov James Cagney John Wayne James Stewart, etc.! I really miss this kind of interview!
Very funny and intetesting man.
I love both these great guys

Miss Parky, It hurts 😢 and beautiful Michael such an a amazing actor and humanitarian
I loved little voice. It was really funny.
My favorite Michael Caine movie was Ciderhouse Rules. That was a majestic, flawless performance. Should of won best picture over American Beauty

This man is the real deal and I find that I like him very much.
On a transatlantic flight I watched Sir Michael in a movie named Flawless. He starred aside Demi Moore, superb acting. Unforgettable!
"The Swarm" wasn't all that bad actually!

Harry Brown, Sir Michael... one of the best films ever!

Yes I looked up the Korean war recently. Not nice, and some Brits were there. Justified or not, some young men paid a price. Bless.

Think he was born in 1933, it was his 70th year so I guess it was 2003. Think that was the last year Concorde flew too.
