Dear sir ! I really like your paintings, this is the painting I want to aim for, maybe I will buy the paint and practice drawing gradually
Thank you Kim! If you're interested in the colors, brands & brushes I use, please send me an email at info@janhendrikdolsma.nl and I will mail you the list. Of course I will then bore you with my newsletter.
The white clouds in the distance look great, but you didn't show how you developed them.😮
You're absolutely right. But the video is a trailer to a full length 25 min. video, as mentioned in the video description. If I share everything in the trailer, who will be interested in paying for the full length version? Gotta make a living.
If you're interested in the full length video you could consider supporting me on Patreon as a video patron (www.patreon.com/paintingskies). It's available exclusively for video patrons, as are all my other full length tutorials.
❤
Thx!
Hi thanks for the videos. Do you have any full tutorials for sale but in acrylics? I don't use oil paint at all 😔 I was looking in your website but couldn't see what medium are used in the videos. Im aware.of the blending techniques being different for oils Vs acrylics hence I'm asking to find the appropriate lessons. Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately I only work in oils. As a matter fact, I'm quite bad at acrylics. I wrote an article about it on my blog: paintingcloudskies.blogspot.com/2016/08/oils-and-acrylics.html.
If you find the time you could read the comment on the article from an acrylic painter (Gayle) with lots of tips to apply the glazing technique with acrylics.
@@PaintingSkies1after reading that article and the tips I've decided to purchase a video and will try to apply it on acrylics. Will you be adding new tutorial videos for sale in the future? Thanks mate
Thanks for buying the video. Hope it helps. I don't have concrete plans for a new full length video at the moment, but I will continue posting on UA-cam, plus my weekly video updates on Patreon (www.patreon.com/paintingskies).@@rosolanor1
Master , you are wauuuu 😮💪🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I have 2 questions! When you applied the first combination of blues on top of the black , the black is already dry? Is the black oil too or acrylic ?
2. When you put the masking tape is the paint completely dry ? Or not necessary?
Thanks, Mauren!
Yes, the base color (Amsterdam Acrylics) is dry when I put the first combination on top of it. Btw, it's not black, but a mix of phtalo blue and burnt umber.
Yes, the paint should be touch dry before you put on the masking tape. if not, you'll tear off the paint with it when you remove it.
Very interesting technic!! I will definitely try it. 😊
Love your cat❤❤ we had one like it for 11 years which we had to put asleep two weeks ago because of lungcancer😢😢😢
nice , but would this technique work on canvas with its survace? probably would require some thick underpainting or not?
You're right (I pointed it out in the full length tutorial) it would indeed be harder on canvas. The paint would get stuck in the canvas texture. It's best suited for panel or smooth paper.
SHOW 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤❤❤❤❤❤ BRASIL
Thank you, Dione!

Hihihi...
Subtractive technique?
That's right, Dave. The terms subtractive and reductive are both used for the technique.

Thx Howie!
