You are simply unbelievably gifted. Beautiful beyond words. Thank you for sharing this with us. You have, maybe unwittingly, already added joy to my day.
I love learning your techniques. Especially the dry brush over the heightened bubbles of an irregular surface. Fascinated to understand how the paint skips, highlighting the sparkling aspects. Thank you!
New to your channel. Your paintings are absolutely ethereal!!! So great to see your craft!!! And your voice is soothing. Thanks so much for sharing. Very inspirational ❤
I hadn't heard of a new painting and wondered, is he on vacation? No I missed it! Thank you for sharing your painting and filming the progression. Simply marvolous!
Thank you and yes, you're right, I hadn't posted a new video in a while. I was intended to, but (quote J. Lennon) "Life get's in the way, while you're planning other things".
This almost reminds me of tonalism in the sense of the clouds meeting the water, in the same way a tonalist sometimes blends the tree tops or hills etc into the sky or clouds to create mystery. Very Nice
Yes, that's indeed what I'm aiming at. The horizon is not a division between sky and ocean, but the area where they meet. I'm particularly fond of the kind of paintings you describe, where the hills and trees blend into the sky.
Wow.. Thank you❤ what talent you are. Im new to these paints. It tried using acrylic but I don't like it that they dry too quickly.. But love the use of if at the beginning.
I continue to find myself amazed at how easily Jan paints these wonder, dynamic clouds. Jan, along with one other painter on YT, have me checking for new content everyday. The soft tone of Jan's voice are something I use on a daily to recover from a day of spreadsheets and calculations. Thank you Jan for your time and effort in demonstrating the pure pleasure of painting. Subscribed and liked. I would like to download the video for Cloud Meets Ocean, but I don't see it being available on Jan's website. Am I missing something? FYI, I signed up for Patreon.
If you're a video patron you should have free access to all my full length tutorials, including the Clouds mMeets Ocean video. Please email me at info@janhendrikdolsma.nl if you're having trouble accessing the full length videos!
The commissioners wanted 2 panels that could be hung as separate paintings, but also form a continuing image. They'll probably hang them as one image, but they wanted to have the option not to. The vertical line in the middle is a consequence of that choice. A 3 meter long single panel is pretty hard to handle indeed, but it's not impossible. Probably need a third easel.
Thank you for your kind words. I work on 6 mm MDF board. Wrote a short article about it on my blog: paintingcloudskies.blogspot.com/2015/01/canvas-or-board.html.
No, it took 2 months to make. Maybe the trailer gave you the wrong impression, but if you'd see the full length video (exclusively on www.patreon.com/paintingskies) it's probably more clear.
This is beyond talent. You are anointed by God. I was praising God while I was watching. Thank you for sharing !
hat's very kind, thank you!!

Perfection
Thanks, Michelle!
Another masterpiece. Not sure how you got rid of the vertical line in the middle. Also, would it have been impractical to have one large board?
The commissioners wanted 2 panels that could be hung as separate paintings, but also form a continuing image. They'll probably hang them as one image, but they wanted to have the option not to. The vertical line in the middle is a consequence of that choice.

@@PaintingSkies1 Wow. I can't imagine the advantage of separating them. It looks so good joined.
I am impressed how the sparkles gives the illusion of depth and size! What kind of board/panel is this?
Thank you for your kind words. I work on 6 mm MDF board. Wrote a short article about it on my blog:
paintingcloudskies.blogspot.com/2015/01/canvas-or-board.html.
Beautiful
Thanks, Parker!
Are you going to be selling this as a lesson/tutorial or only have it on patreon?
No, I won't be selling it as a separate tutorial. The full length 40 min. video is accessible for Patreon members only.
Salamat po
Ang kasiyahan ko, salamat.
Did you paint this in one sitting?
No, it took 2 months to make. Maybe the trailer gave you the wrong impression, but if you'd see the full length video (exclusively on www.patreon.com/paintingskies) it's probably more clear.
Magnificent
Thank you!
