  • Hi, Welcome to the review of the Campbell Designed Sacrifishal in EXOFLEX Construction. This has been a super fund and versatile fish and twin fin that has really excelled in small and average waves.
    I rode the stock 5'5 x 21 x 2 7/16 - 33.3L
    From www.campbelldesigned.com/prod...
    BOARD SUMMARIZATION
    A performance keel inspired fish the "SACRIFISHAL" is a hybrid combining down the line speed with maneuverability in the pocket. Low rocker and soft central concave work to outrun long sections while the concave tail vee and flyer facilitate tight pocket surfing. Suitable for a wide range of surf size and conditions the "SACRIFISHAL" can be surfed as a quad, twin or twin + trailer.
    SKILL LEVEL / BEGINNER - PRO
    "SACRIFISHAL" suits all levels of surfer and is generally surfed around 4'5" inches shorter than your regular shortboard and we suggest around a litre of additional volume.
    SUITABLE WAVES / FLAT - OVERHEAD +
    "SACRIFISHAL"s abundant plaining area provides fantastic paddle power and speed making it ideal for a large variety of sizes and conditions ranging from sloppy beach breaks to peeling offshore points.
    I rode a variety of fins in the Sacrifishal, but really enjoyed the mixed Techflex quad set by Futures Fins.
    From futuresfins.com.au/products/a...
    The AM2 Techflex 5-Fin, designed by Al Merrick of Channel Island Surfboards, is a large sized set in the Rake template category.
    As one of the most popular thruster fins in the Futures range the template features a wider base and refined tip, for the perfect mix of drive and release.
    The quad rears follow the same profile, offering a perfect option for a heavy foot or extra wide tail board. The 5-fin set is designed to be ridden as either a Thruster or Quad set-up, packaged together for more versatility through your quiver.
    Template Category | Rake (drawn-out/drive)
    Construction | Techflex
    Ride Number | Speed Control - 3.4 (tri) / 3.1 (quad)
    Size | Large (75kgs+)

      Different boards and different surfing.

    Great review mate! It looks kind of Tomo fish without the deep fish tail and channel but same concept (small waves) ? Or is this for a more grovel conditions?

      Hey! I would ride this in anything from knee to head high, good or bad. It is a little rocket, and super capable in a range of conditions.

    Great review thanks Craig. For sydney summer would you get a Rocket Wide squash spintec or the Sacrifishal?

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  Рік тому +1

      I find the Rocket Wide has too much rocker to grovel and surf small/average waves like a board like this. I liked my RW, but I liked it in waves I’d ride a shortboard in.

      Awesome thank you. would you go up volume in the sacrifish. I normally ride 35lt and was thinking going up to the 38lt for grovel purpose. They jump 2 litres each inch which is a lot.

      @@malcolmd3670 maybe not that much if you can avoid it. My shortboard would be around 32L at the moment, and this is 33.3L, and I would want it any bigger. So maybe look at custom dims, or even chat with Ryan and look at what they recommend for you!

    Hi Craig
    Thanks for the review great as always.
    I’m trying to convince myself to buy the Sacrafishal however I have a JS Subxero Hyfi. Do you think there is much difference between the Subxero and the Sacrafishal?
    Any help much appreciated.
    Cheers

      I haven’t ridden the JS, but it doesn’t look like it has the lower end performance in small and average waves that the Sacrafishal does.
      Check it out, I don’t think you’d be disappointed!

    10:12 Another great review! I enjoy your reviews and the variety of surfboards you surf in typical east coast waves. I’ve been riding quad grovellers for many years and am considering getting a twinny for motivation. Can you give me a bit of an idea what a similar twin fin (Album Plasmic looks good) surfboard would feel like compared to this quad.
    What I’m actually asking is what does a twin fin feel like to surf on compared to a quad fin surfboard

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  Рік тому +1

      Hey!
      That is a tough question, especially as all twin fin boards, and fins are so different.
      This as a twin was too loose for me, but might work for someone lighter.
      A twin fin where a lot of effort has gone into the R&D for it to have no restrictions on how/when you surf it (think Free Scrubber or Twinsman), they are going to have little to no restriction on how/when you surf it, with the freedom of no drag through a Centre fin that creates drag and can be quite restrictive.
      Your twin keel fishes are gonna feel really flowy and draw out long lines and drive around sections.
      I think the most notable point of riding any twin, is getting off it, and onto a thruster where you notice that Centre fin that you’ve never really noticed before… 😂

      Hey! No, they are not the V2 speed generating foils you’re speaking about. The Rasta twins I speak about do though!

    Too bad boards like this didn't have a box that
    was a dedicated twin fin option but they do have tabs set back that emulate the twin fin positioning from NVS.

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  Рік тому +1

      I preferred it as a quad anyway, so should it be set up as a pure twin, I don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much…

      @@TheSurfboardGuide I've noticed your "go to" prefer set up is a quad quite frequently. I remember Kelly brought the quad back to popularity ....... man must have been literally a decade ago now.
