By Dakota Pederson
Item: 00- 49522
Series: Alfred Concert Band
Category: Concert Band
Format: Conductor Score & Parts
Level: 4
Ambush by Dakota Pederson is a work that describes the fight of war and recounts a flanking ambush set out by soldiers as they close in on a victory. A fiery chord opens the work and is followed by a relentless melody, which is expressed through precise articulation. The work challenges performers to focus on articulation and expression, while giving the percussion section a driving rhythm to maintain the energy. Strong harmonies in the brass and bold melodies throughout make this piece a fierce statement of war and victory. (4:12)

I am playing this piece for districts and it is the one piece I do not play anything in. SMH. Well I guess that is just a day in the life of a percussionist.
We’re playing this tomorrow, we were gonna play it last year but people kept messing up too much so it got taken away but we’re playing it tomorrow it’s awesome tell your director I said we love itttt (literally everyone in our band is obsessed with it)
That’s actually so cool what ( I remember playing this my freshman year of high school)
dakota student taught for my high school band and he's an absolute pleasure to work with. also, french horn part goes hard, thanks for writing a great one :)

@@himikotoga9941 what instrument do you play? It can be difficult to play but once you get the timing down, it becomes easier.

💀💀💀💀
My director made this👍
I love the end 💀
I love 148 so much, but as a Eupho player its so bloody hard and fast, especially since i only have a three valve Eupho and not a four valve eupho.
Buddy where is it on Spotify 💯🔥🔥💯🔥🔥💯🔥‼️‼️🔥💯🔥🔥(genuine question tho)
Frrr I need it on Spotify
Is it meant to say arranged in the video title?
He is the writer and he has conducted it more than once, I would know. So I think it’s fair to say that this Isn’t an arrangement. Rather, an original piece. Mr. Pederson made this song entirely, so it’s not an arrangement.
I play toms
I did too!
@@oofkid bruh during our concert I messed up the first solo 😭🙏
