This man directed my middle school band and I in a few pieces very recently. It was a pleasure to work with him- he’s a very skilled director and composer.
God. I loved playing this song. I was one of two horns, but together we outplayed the entire trumpet section. This was so much fun to play, and it really gave me and my friend a chance to really show what we could do
@@moistbread6557 it happens all the time, i am second chair out of 5 and we outplay 15 trumpets all the time, and 15 mellos in marching band can outplay 34 trumpets
Hey Thomas Jefferson, how did it feel when you basically scammed the French when you purchased the Louisiana territory? (I’m American btw so I’m not trying to say that “USA bad” but I just wanna know)
Played this senior year. Tenor sax, and it is one of, if not my favorite piece I’ve ever played. So many moving parts makes it so beautiful, especially in horns, euphs, and low reeds
Probably my favorite Band Arrangement. I played this piece for my Regionals Band. It was an auditioned group where 6-7 counties were eligible to audition. I played Bass Clarinet and I had so much fun with my part. It was the first time I have ever played a super fun part throughout the entire piece. Not only was this piece fun for me, but all of the other players seemed like they were having fun and all of their parts sounded great as well. I can't express how much I love this piece and I would love to play this piece again sometime in my lifetime again. Well done Rossano Galante.
goosebumps. every time. playing this at our winter concert along with Midnight Sleighride (arr. Tom Wallace)- easily the best duo ever. ALSO not to mention the oboe solo at 3:39?? like the TONE on that oboe player, and the VIBRATO OMG. there’s so much to be noted about this piece, and it’s by far my favorite piece of music i’ve played in my 6 years of playing. -a Flute Major
The French horn line in this piece is one of the most beautiful lines I've ever heard. I hope that maybe one day I can play this piece with an ensemble!
Played this song in concert band 5 or 6 years ago. Afterwards, the rest of my time in band I would get a random string of notes stuck in my head. For no real reason I decided to look this song up today. It was in this song all along...
5 rotor French horn here, and lemme tell ya, this was an experience to play. Never before had I fallen in love with a musical arrangement so fast before.
When I heard that we were going to play a part of this song for midterms and all of it in our spring concert, I knew that band class would be a banger for the rest of the school year.
I. Love this song I majored on trombone I never played it but my favorite song we played back in the 90s when I was in high school was ...on a hymnsong of Phillip bliss
Proud oboist here, I love this song already, and we only sight read it today. I like how inclusive the composer was for giving the oboe a small solo, but still giving most parts with the oboe in it an accompaniment with the flutes or trumpets
This song gives me the vibes of like: It's the end of a Christmas movie, all is good and bright with the world, everyone is happy again, they're walking through the town at night and the snow is falling gracefully, the fairy lights strung through the streets are twinkling, everyone is smiling and dancing in the snow If this were a Hallmark movie, the slow part would definitely be where the two leads look at each other, framed perfectly by the falling snow and twinkling lights, the music swells, the melody builds, and they lean in and kiss each other right as we arrive at the big hit now, this is not a Hallmark movie (thank go, those things are so cheesy), but this song gives such a warm, beautiful feeling that just wraps around your heart like a cozy blanket or scarf and leaves you with an indescribable feeling of joy
This is a super cool performance piece .I really love how the whole band is playing together and creating imagery of the tallest mountain in the world. This seems like a really gentle piece!keep up the great work

I was first horn 4th chair and with some of the French horns we outplayed the trumpets.
@@moistbread6557 Agreed, I played lead, and could single handedly outplay most of the ensembles I was in
Playing this in band right now. I’m a freshman trombone. I love this piece so much.
i cant get over the key change around 2:03 god it’s so gorgeous I cry when I play that beautiful part as clarinet 1
The goosebumps. Alto Sax 1 played along with Horns and my god
You can’t really tell when there’s a key change in this piece. It’s All accidentals😂😂😂
God the bass clarinet part for this is easily no question the most fun part I have ever played, period. So flowing and lyrical, love it.
I play bass clarinet too and the part looks so beautiful!
It's so hard to find a fun song with a good bass clarinet part
I'm a freshman in high school and this is my first year on bass clarinet. It fucking sucks.

The melody at 0:31 is easily hands-down the most beautiful melody I have ever heard. Stunningly majestic.

I’m finally getting to play this tomorrow. Major props to the composer for giving the horns the melody instead of those trumpets.
Real
I’m so sad my horn section is bootycheeks. Horns sound great but not my bands
Just saying, I feel like Euphoniums should get main melodies more often.
The Euphonium part towards the end is just so heavenly!
The euph part overall is awesome
freshman year, flute two :( time flies, I’m currently a junior and i cry every time I listen to this

Nope! He writes amazing horn parts but wasn’t originally a horn player! Apparently just loves horns!
His daughter plays horn, so he always writes good parts :) Though sometimes they can be rather taxing!
