Once again! I'm watching this Changing Guards one more time! When the musical support is the excellent Irish Guards Band (the Best Band!) and the SDM is the Mythical Gareth Chambers, there is always something special in the air, a special day in Windsor! Also the marches played have a special sound, so powerful as the National Emblem! Unmissable, they are my favorites, Band SDM marches and their Blue Plumes! Thank you very much M.E. for sharing this special video!!
Bravo! Outstanding rendition of National Emblem march - an all-time favorite here in the States! I have played that as a member of our local firemen’s band for 60 years.
I kinda like the Band of the Scots Guards and coldstream guards, for the scots guards i liked their marches with putting with the “scottish flavor” and i feel like the marches come from traditional folk musics and bagpipes. Mostly i like Lt Col Duncan Beats march which is Edinburgh Castle and Royal Struart. For the coldstream guards, the only march i like is Lt Col Richard Annision “Dick” Ridings marches which are Pioneer Spirit and Rorkes Drift (my most decent and favorite march in my opinion which is Rorkes Drift)
@ Yeah the Scottish flavor is my favorite part as well. Edinburgh castle is my favorite match they play but Scottish Colors is working its way up there. The Coldstream guards are good but the IG’s just play like they have something to prove.
You can tell that security guard at the beginning was never in band. Getting on the correct LEFT -- LEFT --- LEFT RIGHT LEFT is as logical as breathing. I don't get the excessive pounding on the bass drum.
The intense and constant drum cadences are characteristic of military bands-- to keep march pace, but also the bass carries to the microphone with little loss.
The Irish guards are the best at the music and marches love watching them keeping in step perfection at its best ❤❤b🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Two of my faves :-) Thank you for all you do.
One of the best tunes to march too you can really get into swing

Marches Played:
00:05 - National Emblem
03:26 - Bond of Friendship
Irish guards are the best of all the bands
Them and the Scots Guards always have the best sound. Band of the Irish Guards have the best marching discipline in my own opinion.

0:00 National Emblem March
Great
That security guard is a Police Officer providing an armed escort....
He is a police officer with other things to think about
Play the boys from the County Armagh too much banging it must be an English ye are playing I love the KELLY THE BOY FROM KILLANE

The bass drum's excessive pounding is for the troops at the back to follow the pace.

Or is he armed? Hard to see with his arms folded on his chest. Looked like he was cradling a weapon...
No he isn’t as he would have a side arm and a weapon across his front, which you would see 🙂
