- The legendary Nikko Brat is once again back with True Vintage R/C. With a great many thanks to Keith for affording me the opportunity to relive the opportunity to once again own and race a very rare Nikko BRAT.
Keiths video on this car prior to winging it's way to me in Australia-
• Re building a Nikko Br...
Being a Nikko collector, that’s One of my dream RC’s
Back when I first got my Super Sprint kit and the Brat #1 kit, I thought I had won the lottery.
He did it again. Keith has such an amazing soul. Beautiful car!
To build the friendships many of us do within the hobby it's a testament to how good people fall in with other good people. Im very grateful for it
My first 1/10, RS540 motor, 7.4v powered car was a Nikko Super Lobo. In some parts of the globe I think it's called a Rhino or F10. Got it in 1985 and only thing I have 38 years later are both rear wheels. Right after that, I got a 58065 Clod Buster and for some reason, painted the Nikko's rear wheels TS-8 Italian Red! True story!🤠
Also known as the Sears Lobo, and the Radio Shack /Tandy golden arrow , and then there’s the Traxxas Cat which was a copy of the f10
@@IowaBudgetRCBashers Correct. Based on your name, I assume you are in the US. I am in IL. Sears was the place to go, and my mom did mail order via the Sears Xmas Wish Book. I even got a really neat black carrying case for it with a Green Lobo/Wolf on it. Really nice cars. Good quality.
The old Bison F10 was one many of us over here knew of very well back in the 80's. Definitely a fave of many.
The Sears Lobo was my first ever RC car as well. Loved it even though it cost a fortune for batteries. Very hard to find now. Then it was the Blackfoot for my first hobby grade. Wow, the memories.
Love this! What a cool car! Keith has helped me out recently when I needed a hard to find body set that I knew he had an extra of... He sent it to me with no hesitation and refused to take my money! The world absolutely needs more guys like Keith!
He's a one of a kind. I possibly annoy him too much but it's all raw enthusiasm and we do get along great. Keith is building what I term as the greatest vintage display collection on planet earth. When he gets to reveal it people will be truly blown away
Very cool! Keith is a great guy and I look forward to his video of it. I look forward to you videos of it getting torn down and gone trough and then actually out on the track. I know very little about this one so i am looking forward to learning more from the both of you guys! It is super cool you got this and I am sure you are sending Keith something he will be blown away by as well!
Thank you Adam. This hobby really does open doors for us as enthusiasts who can create good and long lasting friendships.
Looks like a great project Keith is a great guy for the people of this hobby.
Agreed. Keith and I communicate often and I really appreciate the friendship.
And he’s back!!!! Long time no see brother 😃😃
Thank you Wade. It sure has been a while. It just took a Nikko BRAT to get me back in the seat. LOL!
Keith is such a great guy. He mad it possible for us to be in the TT 02 speed run challenge. He sponsored us and sent us a TT 02 ford gt
You guys deserved a little pick me up.
Keith possibly here's from me a little too much at times but that was always bound to happen.
@@Bormac073 haha
@@rcicons4915 we can’t thank you enough buddy. We’re stuck in the 50’s but still aiming for 70’s before Saturday’s end of competition
Absolutely awesome 🤩🤩👊🏻
Glenn our good friend Keith has truly sent something I can honestly say I thought I would never get to experience again.. it's time to get this rare beast out in the dirt come BASH 2.0
Absolutely amazing, Very Cool Jason.
The Brat certainly was a release that turned a few heads back then and even still now. I'm glad you are a fellow enthusiast and we all get to share the hobby with friends.
Nice very cool
wow,nice box of rc stuff
Yes, Keith sure is the most generous of friends. It's a great hobby that even brings people together from across the other side of the world.
Thats one sexy looking buggy, Keith is a RC god,i hope you do run it in a race, that would just be super cool 👌
At the Knox BASH 2.0 in Melbourne come November we will all get to see the Nikko out on track.
@@Bormac073 awsome, look forward to that. Wish we had your weather in november, it will be a bit moist over here then 😂
Nice Nikko buggy. I just subscribed
Thank you it sure is and welcome to the channel.
Nice car 🤩
Keith is a dead set legend. I have one of those handsets, it came with a broken and beat up Tamiya 959 that I have to finish off one day. No plans on using the handset though.
Yes I'm very fortunate to have a good friendship with Keith.
I could never have wished for this kind of a thing to happen, yet it did.
Nikko should make a killing if they brought back all their old toy grade and hobby grade cars they would make a lot of money.
Absolutely they would Brad
Keith is a cool guy👌👌
Absolutely he surely is.
My mate was the Australian importer and distributor of Nikko RC for many decades. Then Nikko pulled out. It's a shame he never had interest in keeping any of them in box.
Back around 2005 I got my BRAT #1 kit plus a nib Super Sprint from Colin Grenenger when I was at his place buying up all his old Schumacher stock.
What a memory.
Great Vid Mate - Vintage RC for me is addictive :o)
It is for us all Im sure. 😁
Me too. Lol
Hello from 15.178 km away: well my first car was a Nikko, and you know where to find all of my cars. Ps: At Brat times there was no internet only telephone to get in touch with Australia :-)
I just subscribed to your channel. That unimog really brings back some memories
@@Bormac073 it's not so rare, in Germany every 2 months one is for sale. Thx and kind regards from Luxembourg.
Great video, but are you sure Keith just didn't give it to you because it's not a very good looking buggy and he didn't want any '1's' hanging around the 8', 9's and 10's in his display cabinet?
Yeah no..... LOL!
do you know of any mugen mercury xi4 parts around !?
No.
