I'm here after seeing Glen's video this morning. I remember seeing this car in RCCA back in 1989 at a World's event and I was floored! It was so rare that none of the hobby shops in my county couldn't even get it!

Thanks for coming over. I do not think they made a lot of them to be honest. I have my built one and 2 nib kits. The built one is getting a full overhaul and will be my runner and I will build a kit for the shelf. Looking forward to both as the brat is just one you don’t see to often.

People knock Nikko, but all of us who know Nikko know they made some really cool stuff. These were awesome and just as good as good as all the other hobby grade stuff offered at the time. I haven’t seen a brat in years. My buddy who seemed to have everything when we were kids got one for Christmas. It was awesome fun. Great video 😁

Back in the days I used to run a Nikko F10 Bison (2WD; sort of a RTR Grasshopper); 1:10. Thought it was the highest development of Nikko. I sort of heard about the Dandy Dash but at that time I already had moved to Tamiya/Thundershot so it didn't really get my attention. But never heard of this one. However, thinking about what was state of the art back in the days it's actually totally impressive, what Nikko produced there with hardly any experience in hobby grade. They built in more or less everything that was state of the art these days. Universal drive shafts, FRP chassis, aluminium shocks, belt driven, aluminium re-inforcements... this thing is just wow! Sure they made a few beginners mistakes like the missing adjustable upper arms or so but other than that... Thx for the video!

When I looked back the memory lane, Nikko had never been on par with Tamiya and Kyosho, well..maybe because of their more affordable prices back in the day. Great video!! I never knew about this one either!! You mentioned Radioshack, here in Australia it was known as Tandy. As a kid I had a few Tandy rc cars, friends had Nikko's, Jet hoppers etc. We all went through AA batteries quickly as you could imagine! My Dad used to put my flat disposable AA batteries in the oven at low temperature for 30 minutes or so, let them cool down, then they'd be half charged, use them again, then you'd have to chuck them out. Did this before saving up for rechargeable AA's and a charger, as at the time, they were very expensive. Again, great vid and it's a good looking car!!! Can't wait for the day you build that Super Sabre!!!!

The Nikko Rhino could be competitive in dirt oval racing back in the day. I’ve heard more than once of a Rhino or Golden Arrow winning races or placing. Maybe they were racing Grasshoppers with 380 motor 😂. The Dictator was better. Twin 380s, 4WD, four wheel independent suspension it’s a very good handling RC. With upgrades, it’s as fast or faster than modern hobby grade RCs. The Dandy Dash and Brat were the next level.

Nikko made a boat load of great cars. I only have the hobby grade ones but am always watching vids of the toy grade cars. Just no room for them so I stick to watching others add and restore for their collections.

Why not consider to replace the broken parts with 3D printed ones, just opt to have them printed at a higher quality for durability

@@rcicons4915 lol Just drop your parts(not broken ones) to your local 3D Printing Services and they will sort out the scanning and printing for you . This way you get spares that are much more durable, ready in a day or so, you might just end up restoring cars you intended for parts.😆

hi, beautiful work. Do you know where you can find kit 1 to buy or the technical drawings with the frame measurements to buy? I have 5 dandy dashes and 2 super sprints and I would like to transform one of these into a brat, but the kits here in Europe are very rare, so I'm looking for a replica of the frame in kit form (also in carbon) or to produce it myself. Thank you.
