I had multiple women in the past that left me saying,i was too nice.
I thought doing all the nice things was what women wanted and mind you these women came from abusive pasts.
What baffled me even more was because they came from abusive relationships,i thought id be even nicer, how wrong i was.
Ahhhh well I'll stay with being nice, there's too much drama going on with the world and life is short. Shout out to all the nice men and women

I got a lot of clarity from this. Oftentimes am too timid to make any bold moves. I know that if I do, good things will happen. But my nerves gets in my way. It is the mans job to move the interaction forward. If a woman runs up to me and asks if I want to have sex, I just assume there must be some sort of scam. I invited a girl over tomorrow for Netflix and Chill. I have a plan. It is a nerve wrecking plan but if I ever want to move on from being a nice guy, I have to take charge tomorrow. I am also on 30 days of Nofap. I absolutely recommend it. Sex drive is a force of nature. When you stop surpressing it, you will become more assertive.
The more you do it, the less nervous you will get. It's all about practice!

Great interview, thank you so much. After listening this interview I did understand why I don't feel any sexual chemistry with men during first dates, because men are "nice guys". Usually after date like that no second date. As you mentioned many time before that is repulsive.

The trouble is how to distinguish between the two? Someone can pretend to be kind, right? If you discount everybody who is kind to you then you will end up in unkind relationships all the time.
I find that the "nice guy" persona is almost always an act and not reality.

For a woman, if she interprets a man's actions as "nice" and she is wrong, there can be serious consequences and, sadly, I have experienced those consequences in my life. You really need to assess who is in front of you. Sometimes your life depends on it.

Now this nice guy subject is making me very confuse. I feel the term "nice" is not accurate to describe the personality damaging attitude n behaviors.A nice person ve it's plus n minus as does other people. I think a nice person has much more good qualities than any vice person. Niceness is definitely a highly desired socially n spiritually. Feeling sexual attraction n desire for some person is subjective n maybe based on many things.
I agree that 'nice' is a bad term which makes men who are pleasant and respectful of women out to be 'bad' in reality. He should have kept the term 'nice' for good men and found another term for the kind of men he refers to. And it is unfortunate she echoes that use. It is becoming increasingly difficult to be seen as a good man in this day when you really are pleasant to women.

@@thecordialistI ve no problem if u agree with Robert's book n terminology. I still hold that term 'nice' doesn't present entirely a personality which he is referring to. I feel a more specific term like people pleaser or spineless people would have been more appropriate.

I think he needs to study more about why the United States was founded. It was to escape hundreds of years of persecution because people wanted to talk to God directly (i.e., Protestants) instead of being forced to submit to Catholicism and only talk to God through the Pope and his team. Religious freedom was the motive, and Puritanism was only one variation of wanting to escape the Catholic Church. And he seems to want me to be thinking about Freud and Oedipus and mother love and childhood streaking in front of my mother while I'm on a date. Gad. Talk about overanalyzing it and overthinking it. Nonetheless, maybe that's what he has learned from 40 years of dealing with his own nice-guy issues and troubled people and relationships. Oh well. The world of people can certainly be a screwed-up and dysfunctional place, and I suppose we are all part of it. 🙂
