I got mine in December and love them so much I got a back up set. They are lovely to color with and I’ve not found a book yet in which they don’t jive beautifully with the paper. Enjoy.
Your colouring is amazing Karen, I hope you will finish the page. These pencils seem to be very popular, and they do seem to lay down well with beautiful colours, thanks for sharing 💖
Wow those pencils à gorgeous!!! I had never saw them before. Thank you! Your videos are always relaxing and informative. Your nails pretty nails is just cherry on the cake.
The name translations are not my own work or I would share them with you. However if you will follow Pamela’s Passion for Pencils, she has a link to her Facebook page. In the Community tab on her page, there is a link to the Excel file with the translations and more info about the significance of the name in their culture. It is a free download, but you should get it from her since this was a LOT of work. Happy coloring!
@@ZucchiniKitty I very been eyeing pencils (I've had prismacolours for a while, a USA made set) but I've been wanting a set of oil based ones so much but also love the Derwent Inktense. I could afford one good size set only, not both and was waffling around, trying to decide, inktense or polychromos but with these, I managed to get some inktense and then these today too, rather than either/or so I'm chuffed. Can't wait to try them.
Great video! I just got my set today and think I will really enjoy them. I think that despite being labeled "oily" they are wax based. I read that the manufacturer confirmed that.
I purchased mine last yr. 160 set, made in China, no names just numbers. Mine says SOUTHSUN on the cardboard cover. No tin, plastic case with trays inside. Same color chart for swatching. I like them very much, no color name just a number which probably match yours. Supposedly German, made in England originally & expensive, so this is what we have instead. I was happy to get them. Enjoy.
I bought a second set of these, like them so much n being budget they don’t come open stock......your picture is looking beautiful Karen, but it isn’t a testament to the pencils but to the user ♥️
I got these about 2 days ago and I actually was thinking about you using these pencils because I was wondering what you could do with these! For me these pencils have one of the most impressive and comprehensive palettes out of all budget pencils available right now. Too many budget pencils have colors that are really similar especially in the greens/blues where you need to literally squint to see a hairs difference between shades but not in these pencils. I'm very impressed.
Karen 💖 what a really lovely surprise, I thought you were going to swatch these Brut’s but you already have...these pencils sure have some beautiful colors...I would love to see more of this picture you started, it’s looks gorgeous already...Thank you for yet another video I could get spoiled lol...💖💖
Hi Karen...I have had a terrible time with what seems like a wax build up with the Brutfuners. Drives me crazy. Maybe my paper is too tooth? Spring Hill. Or to hard pressure? I can’t get any layers!
@@ZucchiniKitty yes I learn so much from watching you. I do get very confused about when I should use layer. I was using the brunfuners and kept getting what looked like wax blotches. Could not layer. Probably too much pressure. Any way thank you!
It is my understanding that despite them being titled "oily" they are wax pencils not oil. Therefore, wax bloom would definitely be possible, right? I'm no expert, just passing along what I've read elsewhere, which is that the manufacturer stated they are wax based pencils.
How do these compare to the Black Widow sets? I see the colors aren't as vivid, but it seems like it may be a similar feel for the lay down? Or am I completely off on my thinking? They look fun!
Hi, Karen. Where did you buy those pencils? Are they better than their first version, the round ones, in the plastic case? Congratulations on the color.
@@ZucchiniKitty and the Shuttle Art 174 are better than the 180. Go figure. I bought the 180 and wish I hadn’t but then I am not as talented as you are with coloring.

Hi Karen, I’m sure you can make beautiful art with ANY pencil! I have a set of 72 round Brutfuner that I bought before the brand came into the YT radar, I really like them 🥰 but as a newbie to coloring I am definitely not in any position to rate these. I’m not even sure if the formula in these square pencils is better than the round set. I’m not interested in collecting colored pencils, but if these are really worth it, I may buy the square set from AliExpress.
