I came about this video by chance. But I'm glad I did. I like your presentation, the fact that you used only 3 colors and expanded with darker lighter, etc. and video was a nice length. I'm still working on this one. I have a heavy hand and in watching you and your commenting about "light" strokes, I would lighten up. When selecting your color palette (I use the color wheel) should the colors be based on the entire picture or sections at a time? I plan on watching all of your videos. I subscribed. Thanks for your time.
Hi hun..... I m so pleased you joined the channel..... And keep practising you ll soon be loving working with pencils..... I pick colors for the items that need to be certain colors then I try and make the rest of the page a color palette that will match those
It depends on the look you are going for. Many coloring book artists do each item separately, which is why they have such garish, vibrant results. The other option is to choose a palette.. again many use a "designer" palette which usually focuses on contrasting and vibrant colors... the "artistic" method is to use a palette that is more analogous (this is where your color wheel comes in), choose your main subject then use the colors in it along with others as needed for everything else so the entire page is cohesive. In paint you would choose a mixing trio and blend your colors to make new ones that are "children" of the originals, in pencil you have to know enough color theory to be able to eyeball the correct pencils to represent those mixes, including their shades and tints.. you can do some mixing but nowhere near the extent of paint. In general coloring book and fine artists take very different approaches to color, many coloring book artists have little color theory education and simply do what they like. None of this is wrong, just different approaches to art.
@@emmacolours2020 I think I'll do a review of them once I've had a play. I hope you dont mind if I mention your original video in mine. It's your video that introduced me to them 💜
The square set is the best set to be honest so I wouldn't even worry... But there is an original round coloured barrel version sold in plastic trays.... Then their is the big 180 set with black barrels that are quite a nice pencil comes in a metal tin... But the square set are the nicest ones for coloring
This is beautiful Emma. I just bought these pencils. They are actually wax-based not oil-based as marketed. These are the same pencils as Shuttle Art, Castle Arts and many others out of the same Chinese factory. Even the manufacturer has admitted they are wax based, they simply marketed that way and quoted a ‘translation’ issue. Thank you for the beautiful demo, prettiest I’ve seen of these pencils 💐🤗
These are the old set..... I loved them they were awesome pencils.... The new type are very nice too.... They react wonderfully then for wax pencils I would definately still recommend as they layer wonderfully
How do you like these pencils?? I've seen them many times an wondered about them?? Do you have an idea of what you would think it's equivalent is??what oil pencil do you think it compairs to? I'm getting the schiperrer farben colored pencils and I was just wondering if you think they r around the same? Better??
I think they re great and they are very cheap oil pencils... Really budget... But I haven't used the shpirrer farben and have heard they are amazing.... If your already getting those they are probably nicer than the cheap brutfuner set... But I have these and love them... Of course I love my polychromos more but I still use my brutfuner pretty regular
Well done, I enjoyed watching you, you are a dedicated colourist I appreciate your patience as I said I have the original set then today I got a square set from Amazon they are quite nice to hold and of course they don’t roll everywhere 😀 interestingly the colours don’t match the round ones the numbers same but shades are different. Do you know where I might get a Brutfuner colour chart to fill in ?
I just us a notepad for mine to be honest.... I am not a massive stickler for using swatches.... Bad of me I know...... I am glad you are enjoying the videos I love doing them
My colours are evident to yours which is very confusing! My 018 isn't a green but a brown. I had to put my pencils in numerical order to find my colours... So now I am thrown! I am a totally newbie to this and I need to be good step by step like a toddler lol... Your colouring is beautiful! Hope I can become good too.thank you for this video.
It is confusing there are different sets of the Brutfuner if you have black barrels on your you are using the other set... I have a video. About those they are the Brutfuner 180 set video..... You will get there hun... If there's anything I can do to help let me know
www.amazon.co.uk/Colouring-Pencils-Coloured-Sketching-Painting/dp/B07FK7VZQ7 Thank you for the lovely comment.... That is the original 160 set I have from the UK.
I have these pencils but was so disappointed. The color selection is amazing but I had so much trouble with breakage. And the filler in the lead was gummy. Maybe I got a bad set, I don't know.
So, this is how to use oily pencils..I'm so wrong all the time..i do not have any idea that it takes a lot of layering to achieve such result..and this is the reason my work is ugly..
Lol.... No that's just my voice I think.... I was unwell when filming this one it may have come through a little.... I always love filming and making videos for you guys so please never think I would rather be doing anything else
Very enjoyable demonstration! I find watching others colour both relaxing and inspiring - thank you!
Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to comment I really apreciate it 😁
Very interesting and helpful to watch how you color with oil pencils. Thank you?
You are so welcome 😁
I bought the round ones a couple of years ago I just bought 120 square ones, the numbers are the same but the colours vary amazingly
I have been looking for the square ones but couldn't find them... Have managed to grab the new 180 set... But they are round
Oh,this makes me want the round Brutfuners. I have the square ones and they are amazing! Great video.
I think the square ones are the holy grail..... I am jealous lol
I think that once you have the square ones that the round ones may be disappointing to you.
Nice video Emma thankyou xx 😘
Thank you for watching hun
Can you do a video of the sun shinning on pictures, an the shade
I am totally crap at both
These pencils look brilliant. And you colour beautifully 🙂
Thank you very much.... They were a lovely set.... I do think the new square set is a better one now though
I have the round &I really like them.
They work on this paper absolutely beautiful

I think so... I have never had that problem.. You should contact them..
