basically if it’s not drums, vocals or guitar, and you can hear it, John Paul Jones is responsible, he plays like 30 instruments to an insane level, i do not want to imagine a Led Zeppelin without JPJ
JPJ is so much more than just the GREATEST BASS PLAYER EVER. Jimmy Page said JPJ is the most naturally talented musician of the 4 Of them. Let that sink in for a minute. And plays the 30 or so instruments the other gentleman mentioned. And played on 60+ #1 hits BEFORE Led Zeppelin as a session musician. And then produced some defining albums in the ‘90’s
I saw Robert Plant when he was 63. He was so powerful. I was already a massive Zeppelin fan so it made it even better. He was singing with another band he was with at the time and about halfway through started singing some zeppelin songs. I almost cried and wet myself at the same time. I’ll never forget it.
John Paul Jones is not only one of the all time best bassists, he is an incredible keyboardist You always have to listen to Zep songs more than once to listen to the different layers.
@@andrewcastillo9558 his voice is hundred times better in studio version his voice changed in 1973. listen the original MSG concert recording its worse than the movie version.
"I hope they got a lot of music". Bro you've barely scratched the surface. Almost every single song on every single album is a killer. And there are 8 studio albums.
Woo! Zep is pure gold. Love the reactions. Every song people are shouting out are all worth doing.Their first four albums are: Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II, Led Zeppelin III, and Led Zeppelin IV...every single track is fire. Next albums were Houses of the Holy and Physical Graffiti....just as amazing.
You really should also watch the live version of this at MSG 1973. Mind blowing performance! Every Zeppelin performance is different. They are totally Blues based.
This song, like most Zeppelin songs, are made for live performances. This song is Led Zeppelin. The blues with their stamp on it. They had a unique sound and interpretation of the blues. Spot on reaction! Especially about Bonham’s drums. He crushed those drums and he is thought by many to have been the heart of LZ as is shown by them choosing to disband when he died.
Welcome to the Zeppelin rabbit hole, I was lucky enough to see them live twice. This was my band still is, try Ramble On, Dazed & Confused, Going to California, Lemon song. Just so many songs, you are right, they are also the blues.
How many more times, no quarter, the rover, ten years gone...I could just say their whole catalog, zeppelin is my favorite band of all time, no contest since I was little and my dad indtroduce me to them very young,, he is a huge zeppelin fan
This is one where John Paul Jones is playing Hammond organ. This has been put in the Top 100 Guitar Solos of all time by Guitar magazines in the US and UK. In Germany, "Sounds" magazine called it the 16th best song of all time.
I bought this album when I was 14 for $.25. In 1979 I put it on and changed my life into this day is still my favorite. Led Zeppelin is the pinnacle of music. I had a ticket in hand to see them in 1980 unfortunately bonzo passed. I was so close to seeing the greatness
Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Led Zeppelin. I'm 58 and have been a fan since a kid. Their music transcends genres from rock to blues (like you just heard) to rockabilly to metal. They did it all. Enjoy the journey!
You're right brother. You've found the GOATS! I listen to all the others, great in their own right. LZ is special, on another level. Check this out live, I think MSG, mind-blowing, life changing, epic!
When I discovered Led Zeppelin. every other band took a back seat for a while. I became almost obsessed with them. and if you start your way from the first album and work your way to the last you can see their journey and growth as a band. there first six albums are there best. the last two albums they started to slip a little bit. but still some good songs.
YES, Led Zeppelin are a religion to so many of us, past down to our kids like PINK FLOYD. My 32yr old daughter knows every album word for word growing up in a classic Rock household. Another British blues-based rock band is Ten Years After. My favorites are 1)Good Morning Little School Girl, 2) 50,000 Miles Outside My Brain, and 3) Love Like A Man.

You gotta do Kashmir. In The Evening. Dyer Maker. Achilles Last Stand. You know what, screw it. Just do every Zeppelin song. 😂😂 You can never ever go wrong with THE rock Gods
John paul jones, keyboard work, and this song was inspired by the heavens, it was frigging phenomenal. And that's why this band is one of the best of all Time. Each member was great, and then when you put them alltogether. You have 4 of the best musicians at their instrument of all time making music together. So naturally, you come up with Led Zeppelin.🙌🙌🙌were not worthy
Jimmy Page is the producer. This song was mixed with analog equipment.... NO computers, auto tune...... just raw talent. If this dropped TODAY, it would be a sensation.
This is my favorite Led Zeppelin song, which puts it high in my ranking of best songs ever. I think this song (along with The Beatles' "I Want You") epitomize and exemplify the theatrics, dramatics,, and dynamics of British pomp with the grit, soulfulness, and bluesiness of early 20th Century southern black music. And that makes it a perfect song, IMO.
You won't believe how pleasing it is to see another person falling in love Zeppelin. JPJ plays the keyboards, bass, and who knows what else. In his spare time he was a music arranger for other bands, acts, or movies.
An amazing grouping of four talented guys who worked well together. Such a tight sound. Plenty of diversity in the catalog, mostly electric blues and hard rock, but folky acoustic stuff and experimental stuff as well. An influence on so many bands. They had a few misses and some people may not like everything in the catalog, but they ruled the '70s when rock radio was king.
I've enjoyed your discovery and reactions to Led Zep. Through my 52 year musical journey covering all genres Led Zep remains for me the greatest rock band of all time. True masters of their craft. They are to rock what SRV was to blues. Keep em' coming! Their catalog is deep!
