I really enjoy your reactions, you 2 make a great tandem talkin' team, the duo of dialogue. Authentic and entertaining. Great to see so many younger people excited to be discovering for the 1st time the music that's been a big part of my world for over 50 years.Cheers & Carry On! 🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦
JBL's main influence on bass is the great James Jamerson who played on most of the Motown records of the 1960's. Including, but not limited to Marvin Gaye's "what's going on". Check out the bass on that one. This track is one of the best examples of his funk and soul. As a session musician in pre-Zeppelin days, he was always called to play these kinds of tunes in England. He was the only one who could to it. Bonzo was also a Motown fan. It's so obvious. I'm so glad you guys listened to this one!
Good Lord Zeppelin can't go wrong with any song !!!!! Love them 💞😘 they were the thing in my teen yeasxim 64* yr old woman now but I can still rocknout lol lol 😆
It looks like a double of the same exact person in a video listening to a song in the car with himself. I was mind tripped by that because they look so much alike.
@@vineflower LOL Maybe one could wear a different hat other than even matching up wearing beanies, like a big cowboy hat or something else that lets you know 'I am the other brother' right away.
Goddammit I'm 54 years old. I can't even tell you how great it is to see other humans get their faces broken by this music, like mine has been for all of my life. My fave Zep song, followed by every Zep song.
Love this song, so funky, so dope, and that base line knocks me out every time I hear it. Thanks Bros playing and reacting to this. It was really fun watching your reactions.
Haha you are becoming a Led Head. You are spot on and I appreciate that younger new fans are just as blown away as I was I the 70’s. Timeless music. The greatest band to ever grace this earth
Was that your brother there with you? In any case I loved both of your reactions to this fabulous old rock tune! Led Zeppelin was the best for tripping! Thanks for the memories!
I grew up in the 70's listening to these artists and it's great to see you guys are starting to appreciate this incredible music. Keep it up my friends!
I heard this as a teenager 40 years ago so its an old well loved classic to me..part of my music library for decades....to see the reaction of you two made me feel like a teenager again and the appreciation and insight-fullness of your reaction made my day. Keep 'em coming...VERY refreshing.
The most fantastic tribute to 'black Americans' ever ... EVER!!! Complimets to4 random Brit guys, giving respect where it's due. Also featured in songs by the Beatles, Rolling Stones & every other British band of the era ... respect to their inspiration: BLACK AMERICANS!
Please add Stairway To Heaven, Heart’s tribute to Led Zeppelin done in 2012 at the Kennedy Center Honors. It’s amazing and they are there watching. Robert Plant has tears in his eyes from being so overwhelmed at its greatness!
I saw a comment on this song in another video where a girl said, "I swear I was wearing panties when this song started."🤭 I saw Led Zeppelin in 1970, my first concert and first acid trip!🤪🤯 All the girls wanted to be with Robert Plant and all us guys wanted to be Robert Plant!💯 I'm almost 71 now and that concert is one of my favorite memories.🤗 So much fun to watch a new generation appreciating the music of my generation.🔥It was a great time to be young and crazy!😁❤️✌️
This song was more than "influence", it's the song "Killin' Floor", which has also been covered by Jimi Hendrix. Of course they Zeppelinized it, but can still be considered a "ripoff" by some...
Howling Wolf's Killing Floor. Zep eventually was sued to give him credits. Same with Willie Dixon for Whole Lotta Love and Memphis Minnie for When The Levy Breaks. English Rockers loved Delta Blues.
@@mr.knowitall6440 NO RIPOFF!! Man even B.B. The King said once the music is out there it's anyone's game. Many were covered in 30s 40s and 50s. The Arts is about pushing it forward injecting your own style and so on!
Both Jimmy Page and JPJs worked as studio session musicians in London before Zeppelin and played on a lot famous recordings from the 60s. JPJ did a lot of their arrangements with Jimmy Page once saying that he was the most musically gifted member of the group. Nice reaction with you and little you.
James Jamerson influenced a lot of bassists , including John Paul Jones and myself. James Jamerson and John Paul Jones, Donald 🦆 Duck Dunn, Tommy Cogbil and Bob Babbit influenced me.
I LOVE y'all so much! I purposefully seek out your reactions and always walk away smiling! You've no idea how y'all, by sharing your love of music with us, affect the ppl listening in. You make this sad girl smile. Thank you
The Bass is the foundation of groove, and the keeper of time and tempo. People think it's the drums. Drums are dynamic contrast. A Bass player (or tuba in a wind ensemble) can drive the tempo any way they want.
I’m watching and this is excellent entertainment. Loved how you did the side by side and acted like you were looking at yourself and talking to yourself. 🍻
Great reaction! One of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs! One of the things I love is that it demonstrates how this group wasn't just heavy, it was funky. I love that when you hear the slower grooves, you can hear Jonesy and Bonzo playing around in the beat; JPJ was so subtle with what he did on the bass, but it's there. I've seen John Paul Jones in concert and what makes him so good is that he locks in with the drums, but then he bolsters the melody played on guitar and then finds little counterpoints between the rhythm and melody that sweetens the pot--and he does it in such a way that you can hear it if you notice, but it's not distracting nor does it take any attention away from the song itself. It's like tasting a good pie and thinking, "I don't know what's in this, but this is tasty!" And then when the band shifts to those fast parts, they were writing the DNA of Thrash metal and groups like Metallica and Anthrax. The lyrics are a pastiche or a melange from all sorts of blues songs: the verses come from the Howlin' Wolf tune "Killing Floor" and the funky, improvised squeeze-my-lemon verse comes from "Travelling Riverside Blues" by Robert Johnson. With all that said, you should check out Zep's "How Many More Times" (psst, there is a live version of it from a TV appearance they did in Denmark back in 1969 which is absolutely killer!)
This is another great reaction. Glad you’re doing zeppelin. I’m an old drummer and worship Bonham. I named my dog after him. If you enjoy Bonzo then listen to Fool in the Rain. He plays in polyrhythmic with triplets on the High Hat ghost notes on the snare and a swung halftime shuffle on the bass and snare.
If you get to singing this in your church - let me know I'm flying over to see that shit!! Lol. Pure funky on the Bass by JPJ. you're reaction to the chorus line - priceless!! ...pmsl.
I first heard this song when I bought the album and played it at home for the first time. As a 17 year old - it was a trip ! Thank you for your great reactions to an amazing song!

So you gentlemen have been awakened by rock blues. The finest.
Only problem with driving to this song is you can start speeding pretty easily without realizing it 😂
Same as Immigrant Song from How The West Was Won with that guitar solo lol
Yeah when that one part comes where it speeds up i feel like i want to overtake someone
So true with all of Zeppelin. I have to set the cruise.
Congratulations!....
You have finally found My FAVORITE

"Led Zeppelin...a different type of rock band", love that statement😎
Led Zep drinking game: take a shot every time Robert Plant wails "baby baby!" :D
Two dudes rocking out to Led Zeppelin that is classic!
All these rock bands from the 60's LOVED the blues, and did the best they could to pay homage to the music that inspired them.

A Jonh Paul Jones song is "Trampled Underfoot"" (on keys)
Thank you I love it
They definitely have soul first, and talent second. The blues is where they are at home.
LMAO!!! your side by side reactions Frk'n comical! xDDD Mini! Van!!! Loving It!!!
Robert Johnson says mentions “Squeeze my lemon ‘til the juice runs down my leg”originally recorded in 1937. Original Blues at it’s best!

Do their song, "No Quarter" live in Madison square garden 1973.

Nice interactions between you two.
The last line of this song always makes me snicker.
"I'm gonna leave my children down on this killing floor"
The bass ,drums and vocals were all recorded in one take
First 2 albums were mostly blues rock tracks. Definitely check out “How Many More times” off their first album. Great journey!!
Led Zep song suggestions: Ramble On, What Is and What Should Never Be, Across the Hills and Far Away
Led Zep IS a rock band but one who drew blatantly from the American roots music of blues & jazz, then electrified it.
