And it's too freaking bad Richie's alcoholism led to him leaving/being kicked out of the band. They made some seriously great music together, but sometimes people's demons get the better of them.
That backup vocalist is the absolutely amazing Richie Sambora! Love Richie! Yes, he can absolutely sing! He actually has some solo stuff out there that is awesome. Please more Bon Jovi! They are amazing! I'll Be There For You, Always, You Give Love a Bad Name....so many to choose from.
They were definitely amazing One of the biggest reasons I became a fan was the amazing guitar solos and having friends that were non jovi fans but I stayed a fan because the great vocals and lyrics they were awesome
I've never been a real bon Jovi fan. But every time they released a new single, I wanted to hear Richie's part. His voice always touches me, I 'feel' it. I still have 2 songs from his first solo album on my playlist: Ballad of Youth and Father Time. I recommend everyone to listen to them.
I'd have to agree... Samboras voice is stellar...and there would not be Bon Jovi without his many talents! Try 'Thank You For Loving Me' Also research the soundtrack to Young Guns 2... Jon wrote it... Performed it and even had a small acting part in the movie! Filmed near my home town in New Mexico!
Jon’s vocals are amazing! Jon is truly a great person and humanitarian, and has been married to his high school sweetheart for 35 years…amazing for anyone, let alone a rocker.
Emilio Estevez asked to use Dead or Alive for the film Young Guns II but Jon felt it wasn't quite right for a western, so he wrote Blaze of Glory, and released it as a solo song featuring Jeff Beck on guitar. It's distinct but quite similar.
That's Richie Sambora singing backup. Hugely underrated as a singer. Also cowriter of most Bon Jovi songs starting with the second album. You should check out his solo album Stranger In This Town. Very blues oriented rock.
Hands down my fave Bon Jovi song - the stripped down acoustic version is also great. Richie's vocal contributions are often overshadowed by Jon. Love this!! 🙂❤
Another GREAT Bon Jovi rocker is his song from the movie, "Young Guns" called "Blaze of Glory". THAT song REALLY melds rock with the feeling of the Old West. Much as I love "Wanted Dead or Alive", I think for me, "Blaze of Glory" edges it out slightly as my favourite of the two. Whether it does for you or not, I think you'll really enjoy it!
When I look back at the videos with live concert footage from my generation, I could kick myself for not appreciating what we were blessed with at the time. I had the pleasure of seeing SO many concerts during that time period of the 80's and 90's, (Bon Jovi being one of many bands)and there will never be another time like it. There was such a feeling of togetherness and just being in the moment. No distractions like smart phones, safe spaces and trigger warnings. We were just down to rock out and have a good time. And we sure did. Great reaction.
So, so true! 99% dito ..... since I did already appreciated it then. In Switzerland, this kind of music was not present in the charts. We, who bought the records and went to the concerts, were seen as quite a strange breed. Never the less, it was a great time, with great bands, fantastic music and really unbelievable LIVE shows. The singer sang, the guys played their instruments live and what you saw and heared - you got it LIVE. Not hearing 80% of the music from a laptop and selling the show as a live event as it's very often today. Even in my 50's, I still go to see bands play. But the magic touch it had in the 80''s and 90's will never be reached again!
Jon Bon Jovi is the Icon and the Lead. There are few better then Jon in his prime! Richie Sambora is a huge part of the foundation. His backing Vocals and guitar are amazing. He has a solo version of this that is really good! I'll be There for You, Bad Medicine, and Its My life will give you a variety of this incredible band!
I've heard this song on the radio for decades and only now can I hear Bob Seger's 'Turn The Page' influence. The things you learn on your page, Salvo. 🙂
If you want to hear Bon Jovi in a completely new sound then "If I Was Your Mother" is the song to listen to. A very obscure song that only long term fans know about
Great reaction! 52 years old here and this was MY BAND! Saw them a bunch of times back in the 80s and through the 2000's. Such awesome music. Glad you discovered them!
Lordy, I was so lucky to grow up in the 70s and 80s. The best music. I think this is my favorite song of theirs. Its so incredible watching people discover Bon Jovi to this day. Awesome.
Jon(lyrics) and Richie (music) worked so well together. This is one of my faves. Living on a prayer was the first song I heard as a young teen in the UK.so the slippery when wet album I am emotionally attached to. When you hear the western style guitar you can imagine Jon on his steel horse(bike) with his six string on his back(guitar) driving through a western movie set with tumble weeds being blown down the street.
Yet another song…….a fantastic song…..about just the utter grind and isolation and exhaustion of being on long tours. And yet being expected to but everything you have into the shows. It is no wonder so many succumbed to drugs . It’s NOT all wonderful and “romantic” to be a rock star. It’s damn hard work….and lonely. Hours on the road, losing sleep….all for those few hours on stage. It’s a trade I wouldn’t make. I’m DAMN glad that others do! Thank you to all the musicians who live such lives to bring us so much p,erasure and enjoyment!
Richies voice is more of a classic one, Jon got the "raspy-ness" .. They were awesome back then !! One of the few Rock concerts I`ve been to which had a 50/50 male vs female audience !! ( I wonder why ?? :D :D ).."You give love a bad name" next ?? .and if you want Richie Sambora doing a solo song I`d try "Stranger in this Town" or "Fathertime".. He`s got a great great voice !!
Ironically, theres a whole generation of people who only know this song as the theme song to tv's Deadliest Catch. Its one of those songs where every note is absolutely perfect.
Being a Jersey Girl, needless to say these men made me proud. They are around my age. I grew up listening to Bon Jovi and JOURNEY. You just can’t ask for more
You're awake now though!!! Your reaction is priceless! First song I heard was "Runaway" and I was a fan for life! "Runaway" was their debut single. You should react to it and see how far they have come! Love from Texas 🤠 BTW I cried when both Bob Seger and Jon Bon Jovi cut their hair!
Welcome to the Bon Jovi family. This song shows why they are LEGENDS!!! Jon and Richie voices together, truly magical. Not to mention the writing they did together and performing together, second to none. One of the greatest rock duos of all time. There are soooo many great songs to react to. "Dry County" is fantastic and sometimes overlooked. Richie's guitar solo is FANTASTIC!!! The live version at Wembley Stadium 1995 shows why Richie is a Rock God on the guitar! I highly recommend watching that performance. Other songs I recommend: "It's My Life", "This Ain't A Love Song", "You Give Love a Bad Name", "Living In Sin", "Lay Your Hands On Me", "I'll Be There For You", "Raise Your Hands", "Bed of Roses", "Blood On Blood", "Have a Nice Day", "Amen", "Bad Medicine", "Wild In the Streets", "Thank You For Loving Me", "Someday, I'll Be A Saturday Night", "Always", "Born To Be My Baby", "I Believe", "I Want You", "Something For the Pain", "Lie To Me", "Keep the Faith", "Just Older", "If I Was Your Mother", "Never Say Good-bye", "In These Arms", "Without Love", "Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning", "I Got the Girl", "Seat Next To You", "Save the World", "Thick As Thieves", "Welcome to Wherever You Are", "Whole Lot of Leaving", "Wild Is the Wind", "Scars On This Guitar", "Bells Of Freedom" and "Because We Can" And I could go on and on... lol.. These should keep you busy for a while. Let me give you a few more, off their most recent album, "Legendary", "Walls", "Living Proof" and "Hollow Man" Oh, and check out Jon's solo song, "Blaze of Glory", matter of fact, just listen to the entire Young Guns 2 soundtrack, it is phenomenal! Richie's solo work is great too. His album is Stranger In This Town... Enjoy! :)
At some point, the popular series entitled Deadliest Catch, used this as their theme song. Can I also dare add, this song shifted the way a lot of not fans at all and fans on the fence felt about the band Bon Jovi. Up to this point in their career, Bon Jovi had a worldwide diehard fan base; in my opinion, after the release of this song, it became exponentially larger, again worldwide 🎶🤘🙂👍🎵
In and out of love, Run away ( song that introduced us to Bon Jovi) , bed of roses, blood on blood, ride cowboy ride, always, Levon ( their cover of Elton John) , social disease, it’s an endless list.
This is my favorite Bon Jovi song. Richie Sambora (guitarist) has some great music too! Saw this concert Skid Row opened for them. "Blaze of Glory" From the movie Young Guns 2 a solo by Jon Bon Jovi is Excellent also
I love the fact that younger generations are into the musicvi grew up with. Being a teen in the 80s was magnificent. Going to the concerts was the best. Seeing these bands live, was an experience I wish younger kids could have !
Probably my favorite Bon Jovi song; doesn't get more iconic than them singing this. Just as Johnny Cash's Hurt showed images/video from his life and made the video elevate the song so much, this video does as well- real scenes from the band's touring life that really informs the song and elevates it, making it real and powerful. You can't have great 80's Rock without Bon Jovi.
That is Richie Sambora ( 2nd voice ) .. I learned to play the guitar because of him. He is my inspiration ❤ You rock me baby 😂🎉🎉Love you Richie since day 1 ✊✊🤘🤘🤘
Bon Jovi is amazing. It was my first Arena rock show! I'm 48 and I remember being blown away at age 13 when i saw them with Skid Row as the opener. I got to go with my cousins and older sister and It remains such a wonderful music memory. Lifelong fan!
It’s sad, isn’t it, that this song didn’t go higher on the charts, it is definitely worthy! It is top notch, whip is why it is such a fan favorite! 😍 So beautiful, the voices and the guitar! 🎸 Bon Jovi was definitely one of the greatest bands in the 80’s! I definitely had a crush on Jon Bon Jovi and he is still quite handsome!☺️ Loved your reaction and I hope you do more from them!👍👍
One of my favorite Bon Jovi songs. I just retired from a venue that hosts concerts from time to time. The buses would roll into our parking lot at 2 or 3 am, then they'd get off around 9 looking for coffee. We'd do load in and help setup all the sound, lighting, video and backline gear. They'd have soundcheck about 2 or 3 in the afternoon, then the concert at 7. Start packing it up as soon as the show was over and roll it into the trailers or trucks. The crew would shower at our place around midnight or so and off they'd go to the next show. They really do grind it out night after night, but that's how they choose to make their living, at least while they're younger. And that's just the tech folks. It's a different lifestyle for sure.
In the early '80s, though out the '80's, Bon Jovi put on incredible shows!!!! I live in SF bayarea and went to all their shows here they opened for Scorpions 1st time!!! Great showmanship, very entertaining!!! This song was played on MTV like every day on the radio all day!!!! Lol
I gained new respect for them after I saw Jon and Ritchie perform this live and unplugged, I think it was at the Grammys? Now I have to go find that video.
You're cooking with fire now🎉 Bon Jovi is my all time favorite band and thrilled that you are on the band wagon now!!! I loved your reaction to this great song.
I don't listen to critics very much & they don't determine my likes or dislikes. This is my favorite Bon Jovi song hands down. This song may have charted at #7 but I don't care, it's still my favorite.
Greetings from Northern Michigan. I love this song, I was in high school when Bon Jovi hit the scene. Keep The Faith wasn’t one of his bigger hits but I LOVE that song!
Definitely among their best even though it did not sell as well sometimes a great song is not judged by popularity but by time. Certain great songs seemed to grow in popularity as the decades pass!
I am shocked to hear you say it didn't perform as well as some of their others. I don't know about the charts or whatever, but I was in high school when this song came out. And don't get me wrong, I LOVED it and I loved Bon Jovi. But I'm not even kidding when I tell you that there was a period of time where I heard this song probably 3 or 4 times an hour on the radio. You would not believe how overplayed it was. Now that some time has passed I can again appreciate what a tremendous song it is. Richie Sambora is just as amazing as Jon Bon Jovi, some of his solo stuff was great too.
I am soooooo glad I grew up in the 80’s! I was lucky enough to see Bon Jovi 5 times between 1989 and 2012. They have MANY hits. If you like the western sound with rock you need to check out “Blaze of Glory”. Written solely by Jon Bon Jovi and for the Young Guns movie soundtrack.
My favorites were Dry County, Always, make a memory, have a nice day, bed of roses. There is a great video of Richie singing ill be there for you at one of their concerts. I love Richies albums also. There are some great acoustic performances of Richie and jon singing together also. Richie's guitar music was awesome.
Bon Jovi are a band from New Jersey. I'm a Jersey girl who was in high school when 'Slippery When Wet' was HUUUUGE!!!! Jon Bon Jovi's Grandmother lived in my small town in NJ. So he was seen in the local market on many occasions when he came to visit his grandmother. So, as teenagers, my friends and I (with our HUUUGE Aqua Net Jersey hair) would hang out outside of that little market just hoping to see him. I never saw him. 😂😂 But I still think of him when I drive past there to visit my parents who still live in that little NJ town. ❤
Jon and Richie's voices together are magic. 'You Give Love A Bad Name' should be next!
And it's too freaking bad Richie's alcoholism led to him leaving/being kicked out of the band. They made some seriously great music together, but sometimes people's demons get the better of them.
@@Kayjee17and they sing about the bottle that you drink. 🤔
Richie was born with the guitar 🎸 in his hand I swear and his vocals are amazing
Richie was always my favourite. His vocals and guitar made the Bon Jovi sound.
Oh, and the Official video for Lay Your Hands On Me!!!!!
They were definitely amazing One of the biggest reasons I became a fan was the amazing guitar solos and having friends that were non jovi fans but I stayed a fan because the great vocals and lyrics they were awesome
Bon Jovi fans*
I've never been a real bon Jovi fan. But every time they released a new single, I wanted to hear Richie's part. His voice always touches me, I 'feel' it. I still have 2 songs from his first solo album on my playlist: Ballad of Youth and Father Time. I recommend everyone to listen to them.
These kids man…they just don’t know….at least they’re trying to learn.😀
I'd have to agree... Samboras voice is stellar...and there would not be Bon Jovi without his many talents!
Try 'Thank You For Loving Me'
Also research the soundtrack to Young Guns 2... Jon wrote it... Performed it and even had a small acting part in the movie! Filmed near my home town in New Mexico!

My favorite Bon Jovi song...and that guitar solo ....my goodness!
Emilio Estevez asked to use Dead or Alive for the film Young Guns II but Jon felt it wasn't quite right for a western, so he wrote Blaze of Glory, and released it as a solo song featuring Jeff Beck on guitar. It's distinct but quite similar.
I would love SalvoG to react to Blaze of Glory :) too
I agree with Jon this song is not about the west or real cowboys at all. Its about them touring for a year solid 24/7. They were beat up and tired.
Yes, please react to Blaze of Gliry!!!
Jon also had a bit part in the movie. He played a prisoner in the hole.
That album is INSANELY GOOD. The whole Young Guns II soundtrack.
That's Richie Sambora singing backup. Hugely underrated as a singer. Also cowriter of most Bon Jovi songs starting with the second album. You should check out his solo album Stranger In This Town. Very blues oriented rock.
Great album start to finish! Richie never got the credit he deserved!
richie's backing vocals can't be beat! he has a great voice :)
Richie’s voice complements so beautifully Jon’s voice!
Hands down my fave Bon Jovi song - the stripped down acoustic version is also great. Richie's vocal contributions are often overshadowed by Jon. Love this!! 🙂❤
"Blaze of Glory" by Bon Jovi from the Young Guns II soundtrack is the follow-up to this song. Need to listen to it.
so good!

So true we were so blessed with great bands and groups during these days especially the 80s hair bands
And you've still just touched the stellar greatness of the 80's and early 90's. There is a reason so many of us are disappointed of music today.
Some of the best lyrics ever in a rock song! Jon & Richie made magic with this song
Jon Bon Jovi is the Icon and the Lead. There are few better then Jon in his prime! Richie Sambora is a huge part of the foundation. His backing Vocals and guitar are amazing. The soundtrack record for Young guns II made by Bon Jovi is INCREDIBLE. Such an underrated gem.
Phenomenal!!
I've heard this song on the radio for decades and only now can I hear Bob Seger's 'Turn The Page' influence. The things you learn on your page, Salvo. 🙂
Bon Jovi is incredible! YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME and IT’S MY LIFE are other standouts by them and two of my favorites.
If you want to hear Bon Jovi in a completely new sound then "If I Was Your Mother" is the song to listen to. A very obscure song that only long term fans know about
Thats how we did it in the 80s, SON!
An iconic song for sure, the lead and transition into the solo is indeed awesome. Still magical to listen to it so many years later...
Great reaction! 52 years old here and this was MY BAND! Saw them a bunch of times back in the 80s and through the 2000's. Such awesome music. Glad you discovered them!

This my favorite Bob Jovi song! It’s epic. Great vocals and guitar.
I love your reaction to this! Bon Jovi was my first rock concert❤ This is why music transcends time, you can appreciate it no matter when you find it

Jon Bon Jovi is one of the best song writers of our time. I'm a metal head, but even I have to tip my hat to Jon.
Oh this was totally a popular song!! So good! I remember waiting for it to be released and bought it that day!! Love this band😊
"I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all"
I have loved Bon Jovi since 1986!! Jon and Richie are absolutely amazing! This was my favorite from that album…

Lol, it's cool, you're here, awake!!
MY FAV!! 🔥🤩
Blessed to have seen them multiple times!!
More ANY Bon Jovi!! 🥳
That is one of those rare songs that you just NEVER get tired of!
La mejor banda del World....
This is what was a true ‘band’ was. Everyone was awesome, they worked as a team and they played actual instruments. Today?
Keep the Faith Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora Ballad Of Youth

Dead or Alive is hands down The ALPHA and The OMEGA of Bon Jovi! Even those who don't like Bon Jovi Love This Song!
Lol
Lucky dog!
Yes, Yes, YES!! Jon and Rchie are such an awesome duet, they truely to Rock a Million (or more) faces. Thank you Sal, great reaction.
I gained new respect for them after I saw Jon and Ritchie perform this live and unplugged, I think it was at the Grammys? Now I have to go find that video.
Yes! It was the Grammies, 1989. ua-cam.com/video/lV8DxWOHYsA/v-deo.htmlsi=B4DaD4HqqfpwPaRB
It was a ground breaking performance. The audience was shocked to see the 2 guys, 2 guitars and how fantastic they sounded. That is REAL talent.
I feel like I read somewhere that performance was the inspiration behind MTV’s Unplugged
@@michele1491 it was indeed.
@@michele1491 You are 100% right.
My favourite Bon Jovi song. ❤
Been my song for most of my life. Since Miami Vice.
Richie Sambora and Jon Bon Jovi play off of each other really well. Richie is the main guitarist. I LOVE this song.
One of my favorite Bon Jovi songs!
Much respect for Jon Bon Jovi.. wonderful husband , father, philanthropist, musician.. true rock star!
There is an acoustic version of Wanted Dead or Alive that is simply outstanding. Two singers, playing two guitars.
I heard this version on an awards show- the Grammys maybe?
Yes!! They always bring it!! What ever that is!!🤘🔥

Their best song IMO❤❤
So many hits. You were curious about his vocal range- Bed Of Roses really showcases that.
You would love “You Give Love A bad Name”, “Blaze of Glory”, “Bad Medicine”… I could go on forever. Always is another power ballad that is awesome.
Background vocals: Richie Sambora
I absolutely love this song!
Try out It's My Life. If you listen to it you'll know why I suggest it.
Awesome 12 string
Awesome reaction, Salvo. Your reaction is making me want to make a compilation of this song. 😅Hope you're well!
Was At The Concert in Cincinnati Where Some Of This Video Was Filmed!!!!!!!!!!! Yup!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another band that's a gift from the Music Gods!!! 🎶🎼🎵🎸🎸🎸🎸🥁🥁🥁🎹🎤🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
The hardest Rocket from the Slippery When Wet album is, Raise Your Hands! 🔥🤘🏽🔥🤘🏽🔥🤘🏽
The guitar solo on Wanted is one of my all-time favorites!
Implementing the Western-style “riding a horse into town” music with the lyrics was genius.
IMO This is there Very Best Song !!!!!
100% this. I feel like I heard it every day non-stop for so long that I needed it to go away. But now that time has passed I realize how great it was.
My all time favourite Bon Jovi track thank you 🎉😊
I am soooooo glad I grew up in the 80’s! I was lucky enough to see Bon Jovi 5 times between 1989 and 2012. They have MANY hits.
If you like the western sound with rock you need to check out “Blaze of Glory”. Written solely by Jon Bon Jovi and for the Young Guns movie soundtrack.
Living on a prayer. Bed of roses. Tons of songs. Richie Sambora guitarist and high harmonies married Heather lockleer years ago
welcome to classic 80s rock it was awesome and i was there seeing it all n i so miss it
My favorites were Dry County, Always, make a memory, have a nice day, bed of roses. There is a great video of Richie singing ill be there for you at one of their concerts. I love Richies albums also. There are some great acoustic performances of Richie and jon singing together also. Richie's guitar music was awesome.
Yeah I blasted this from my car at age 17 in 86 repeatedly.
