This song has so much meaning for me. It was played at my dads funeral. He was a truck driver for 40+ years and always referred to his truck as his "steel horse". He made so many friends all over the country from driving. Today would have been his 75th birthday!! Great reaction!!!

Bon Jovi the man, not Bon Jovi, the celebrity, has set up a restaurant/food giveaway center in his hometown. The restaurant has suggested donations on the menu instead of prices. Most of the profits are used to feed people who are low on money for food because of low paying jobs.

It's a song about touring. The steel horse is a tour bus. Fans want to see him "dead or alive". "I play for keeps because I might not make it back" is how musicians never are sure if they'll tour again on a new album. He really has seen "a million faces & rocked them all". He's toured in over 50 countries, played to millions of fans every year & sold over a hundred million records. It's about the grind of being on the road & the video portrays that grind. And he's STILL cranking out new music. The newest Bon Jovi album dropped this week. 2020.

That lick at the end of the solo is one of the best in rock.....
    It's like..... "yeah......there you go....deal with that...."
Popular choice for the next clip would be Bad Medicine. For a great song Raise Your Hands.

I just found you tonight Mr. Video, but what a great time I’m having reliving my teens and twenties. Something about 80s arena rock! For those of us lucky enough to see all these guys in person, what a time it was! I did recently take my teen daughters to a Guns n Roses concert, with Def Leopard opening. Amazing! Us three girls, couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Jon Bon Jovi is credited for inspiring the MTV Unplugged series. He and Richie Sambora (guitarist) performed this song acoustically during the MTV awards 1989. It was amazing and picked up by radio stations etc.. You should react to that version next.

That song was in Wild Hogs, the biker comedy movie with Martin Lawrence and Tim Allen! Steel horse is a euphemism for motorcycle!

Love me some Bon Jovi. I always liked that they called their Limo's and Planes, Buses and Trains, Steel Horses. The song; I'll Be There For You, is a really great love song of theirs. Lots of great songs to choose from with this group.

The song is featured in the expansion pack for Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City, entitled The Lost and Damned, on the radio station Liberty Rock Radio 97.8

I remember when Bon Jovi first started out. I’m aging myself here but they opened up for either Billy Squier or Ratt in maybe 83? I always used to get good seats because my beloved uncle was an usher at Notre Dame. You should have seen my 12 year old face when Jon and the bank come out to sing their first hit “Little Runaway”! Jon had on these tight ass purple sparkly spandex pants! My best friend and I about died! Great show and he sure made an impression! Love ya lots Leo! ❤️😘

So much more to find with Bon Jovi. He released a new video during the pandemic. A song he wrote but also asked his fans for lyrics about their experiences with the pandemic. It's called Do What You Can. Even if you don't react to it I highly recommend listening to the song.

The director of Young Guns approached Bon Jovi and ask for permission to use this song on the sound track for the movie and said he listened to this everyday before he went to shoot the film. Bon Jovi got inspired and wrought Blaze of Glory for the movie Young Guns. Please, please review Blaze of Glory it's truly an awesome song.

  • @jennhurl
    @jennhurl 3 роки тому

Bon Jovi & Sambora wrote this about life on the road. Lonliness. He uses all the "cowboy" references to rock & roll stuff. Ex: loaded six string on my back is his guitar. Steel horse I ride is planes & busses.
It's all the same, only the names will change
Everyday, it seems we're wastin' away
Another place where the faces are so cold
I drive all night just to get back home
    I'm a cowboy, on a steel horse I ride
    I'm wanted dead or alive
    Wanted dead or alive
Sometimes I sleep, sometimes it's not for days
The people I meet always go their separate ways
    Sometimes you tell the day
By the bottle that you drink
And times when you're all alone all you do is think
    See... its quite lonely.

Also, speaking of Dead or Alive, there's a band names Dead or Alive who had a banging one hit wonder in the 80s called You Spin Me Round (Like a Record). It's brilliant.
