You like the rough vocals? OK, I got one band for ya. The band is LILIAC and the do a cover of HOLY DIVER the Do RIP would even appreciate. Check it out if you DARE! Oh knowing you research the groups you listen to, this band is going to blow you away, it's a family band two sisters and three brothers. The lead vocals is Melanie and get this her older sister is the drummer. I sure hope you give this band a listen!
I feel like the perfect reaction would be to ironmouse, a Vtuber who was training to be an opera singer before she was diagnosed with CVID and suffered through years(continuing) of health issues. She's started recovering her voice and it's wonderful.
No worries…Richie’s stans ALWAYS bring it up, as well as claiming he’s the reason the song is so epic, in fact, the only reason Bon Jovi was a success. Too bad he was such a drunk and undependable that he was canned.
The song was about the life on the road and they had some crazy amount of shows. Like the year after this song released they hade 168 concerts, in one year and that's not even their record.
Nothing beats the feeling of being at a Bon Jovi concert and belting this out at the top of your lungs. The band don't need to sing a note, the crowd take over. Its a goosebump inducing moment!
As a life long Bon Jovi fan, you did us proud with your critique! I also saw the love you had in your eyes for Jon at the end of the music video, you made me smile! You get it! 💜
nice voice. but I have seen Bon Jovi twice in Seattle and both times he was so drunk. He was unable to sing....(this was after is solo album so has a few songs on the set list)
Completely correct.z. Check out the version of this song when they were doing MTV and an acoustic version. (It’s not the Bon Jovi unplugged session btw) Richie sings half of it, and it’s beyond amazing.
I have been a fan of bon Jovi and of course Jon Bongiovi since the Fall of 1983. The kid I rode to school with didn't like them so he gave me his cassette. I fell in love with him from the very beginning. I have seen well over 150 concerts in my life, the top five concerts I've ever seen were all bon Jovi. In the late 1980s my best friend and I drove from Great falls Montana to Kalispell to pick up my girlfriend who became my wife eventually and eventually my ex. Then we drove to Spokane, spent the night there and then we drove down to Pullman where Washington State University is and watched the New Jersey tour. The loudest crowd I have ever heard was the beginning of bon Jovi at that concert. If you get a chance to listen to lay your hands on me, that's the song they started with. There were lightning sounds and lights would light up inside like a storm. Then it sounded like an orchestra practicing. And then it got quiet. Jon talked to the audience. And when the music kicked in, he shot out from underneath the stage through the fog about 8 ft in the air and the audience erupted and it had to have been 120 decibels in there. To this day I still feel the hair on The back of my neck. At that concert the spotlight shined on my ex, her long waist length blonde hair lit up and he's saying I'll be there for you to her. It was a pretty epic performance. Their stage presence is incredible. Unfortunately he blew out his vocal cords over time. I don't know if he'll ever be able to sing their old music the way he did before. I got stood up for a date to a bon Jovi concert. She should have at least gone to the concert with me, it's not like it was a quid pro quo deal. Anyway, I called a friend of mine and asked her if she was sitting down. She refused to sit down so I finally asked her are you free tonight? She asked why. I said I have an extra ticket to bon Jovi. She started screaming for like 3 minutes. Winded and barely able to stand, I Said I told you to sit down. I picked her up from work and we were heading to the concert. I asked her nonchalantly what's the best concert you've ever seen. She named a few concerts she'd been to and she asked me what's the best concert I've ever been to. I said bon Jovi. We got to our seats and it was about half full, she mentioned That she was shocked that the stadium was only half full. I said bon Jovi's not on yet. Daughtry performed and they were great. I said I think that's the second best opening band I've ever seen. She asked me is the best opening band you've ever seen. I said bon Jovi. She gave me scolding look. She went to the bathroom at intermission and when she came back to her seat, I said do you notice anything? She said what? I said. Do you see an empty seat anywhere. She said oh my gosh where did everybody come from ? I said it's bon Jovi. And she smiled a little bit. Their performance was extraordinary, probably the best I've seen out of the five. They had all these monitors that were moving around to make different shapes for the videos to go with their concert. At one point they had all the monitors moved to the back of the stage and it was like a giant mirror in a car. And as they were singing their highway song, it was showing different features. Here's the thing, it was Phoenix and Arizona stuff. The Grand canyon, family's playing basketball in the park wearing Sun's gear. Recognizable landmarks. Aerial views of Phoenix. He had sent a crew ahead to Arizona to have video that was true to us. I've never seen another band do anything like that. And here's the Epic part of the concert. Richie sambora saying I'll be there for you, the song that Jon had saying to my ex-wife almost two decades earlier. Jon was off stage cooling off. When that song was done, a spotlight shined in the middle of the stadium. Where center ice would be. And it was John with a headset on. Both of his hands were free, he was not holding a microphone. He sang bed of roses as he walked from the middle of the crowds. Slowly touching as many fans as he could as he walked to the stage singing that song. It didn't feel like there was a dry eye in the entire audience because it was at that moment. You realized he loved us every bit as much as we love him. Richie is the one that was playing the guitar. The double guitar in this. He has an incredible voice himself. The band harmonizes well. Jon The son of a Playboy bunny and a marine, that's where he gets his chiseled good looks. A lot of men are jealous of him, I'm not one of them. I was never going to be handsome. But I think that's why so many men hate bon Jovi because it sure as hell not the music or the talent. He is also a philanthropist, he has donated millions to charity. He is a really good human being and he is a staunch Democrat which I absolutely love. When I had my own political radio show, my bumper music was we weren't born to follow. My favorite bon Jovi song is silent night, this is my son's favorite bon Jovi song. I'm glad you love them, it looks like you love them as much as I do. It shows in reaction.
*SUBSCRIBED* Maggie, your enthusiasm conjoined with your musical knowledge is infectious.! That's ALL I needed to see/hear...! Hey from your newest Sub.... Have a significant day.... *David* ....
Great reaction. Bon Jovi was soooo big back in the day.. The girls were nuts about Jon.. :-p They were great, and Desmond Childs wrote most of this stuff with Jon and Richie and it was epic.. You're all woman by the way and just a babette.. :-p God bless!
Thanks so much for your comment. Will miss you tonight, but hope you will drop in to say hello, if you can! And tell them to stop working you so hard!! 😂🤯🤗🌺
I loved Your reaction. Bon Jovi is an amazing band, and the guys are son down to earth and nice. It is a shame that they lost one of their own this year. RIP Alec John Such, you will forever be missed.
This is one of my favorite songs from back in the day. One memory from when I worked at a juvenile group home we had a couple guys try to go on the run. I lived 3 blocks from the facility so they called me to go hunting. As I swung by work to grab a radio someone called in that they were seen walking on the shoulder of the interstate. This was farm county so no one would be "hiking" along the interstate at 3 AM. I hopped in my Jeep and hauled ass to where they were seen. I figured they got spooked and headed to the nearest cover. A two mile long eighth mile wide shelter belt of trees and brush. I plowed right in the shelter belt from one end to the other with every light on my CJ7 lit up. High beams and 6 150 watt off road lights. As I pulled up onto the gravel road at the end of the belt I saw both guys walking back towards the interstate. I radioed in as I pulled up behind them. The facility van picked them up and took them to the hospital to address the cuts they inflicted on their hands when they busted out. As I was following the van back to town this song came on the radio. It required much volume.
They were amazing in concert. I remember them from my preteen /teenage years. Bon Jovi, Poison, Twisted Sister, Lee Aaron, Helix, Warrent, Sass Jordan... Sums up those years.
Fun Fact: Emilio Estevez wanted to use this song in the movie Young Guns II,but Jon Bon Jovi didn't think it was good for a western. So,Jon wrote and sang "Blaze of Glory ' for the movie.
I been to three of his concerts one of which was 4 hrs because the people were so loud and good it gave Bon Jovi a great feeling so we were rewarded with a extended concert
Used in the Miami Vice episode "El Viejo". Willie Nelson played an elderly retired Texas Ranger who comes to Miami for bloody vengeance on a drug lord. Watching him outwit and casually manhandle both vicious criminals and the supercool, badass Crockett is not to be missed.
I’m so sick of hearing this, as if Jon’s vocals had nothing to do with it. Oh, but Richie’s harmonies…good lord, as if a little bit of harmony is the deciding factor. Bunch of Richie stans. 😂😂😂 It was ALL about Jon’s delivery.
Epic!!!! Just epic!!! You have to groove to this. What a guitar! OMG! So unique and timeless. Goosebumps. And again Maggie. Hell of an Reaction. Just love it and your voice. Compliment!💯✌️
It wasn't used in either young guns movie. The producers asked about using it but JBJ said no. He wrote Blaze of Glory track and the soundtrack for the young guns 2 movie instead.
Thanks for the "Bon Jovi fix" for the day. Definitely a rock ballad. The guitar solo is epic. Congrats on your San Francisco opera run. Looking forward to seeing more reactions... 🙂
Search Chapel Hart or AGT in the audition they perform an original You Can Have Him Jolene. Dolly tweeted she loves it. But she wants to keep her man. Loretta Lynn tweeted she wished they would cover her. Darius Rucker said he already has plans to include them on his next album.
If you look closely at the part where they are taking photos with fans, you can see the crew from the South Chicago Guitar Center, including manager Tony Buffalo. They were delivering some gear to them when they played at The UIC Arena, where a majority of the live footage of filmed.
At the height of their popularity, Bon Jovi played 300 concerts a year. Think about that. 300 shows a year. This video shows behind the scenes of the band which shows, I believe, the exhaustion that sets in on such a tour. Especially the lyrics "I play for keeps, because I might not make it back". Which says a lot, often times you're only as popular as your ability to pump out massive hits. Imagine the requests that were made by fans, record companies, radio stations anytime they came into your town. Now you know why they look exhausted in this video. Great, GREAT musicians, like Bon Jovi are rare. And Richie Sambora is a vastly underrated musician and song writer!!!!!
Awesome reaction, Maggie! Love this song... But to anyone who may know in the comments, is it just me or does the album version go on for longer than this? I'm sure the ending goes on for a bit longer and has some pretty epic drumming.
As others have already mentioned.. The MTV acoustic performance Jon and Richie did of this song is epic, and I believe it was the catalyst for what turned into MTV Unplugged. Richie was one of the most underrated singers of their generation and his blues album "Stranger In This Town" is still a fantastic album. Also, David Bryan (piano) is a successful Broadway composer, and won a Tony for his work on "Memphis".
You should check out "Living on a Prayer" one of the hardest songs not to sing along with. "Living on a Prayer" is the opening song on the "Crossroads" album
All I can see in my head when I hear this song is the movie "Young Guns". Young Guns 2 has Blaze of Glory, another awesome Bon Jovi song. Great Post, Maggie
Ahh Yes. This song makes me want to watch "Harley Davidson and the Marlboro man" - Silly old action movie with Mickey Rourke and Don Johnson. That said. Do you know Michael Patrick Kelly from the Kelly family ? (Paddy) He still performs live a lot but nobody ever reacts to him, he has such an amazingly crisp voice.
Speaking of Bob Seger, you really should react to Turn The Page. I'm pretty sure that you would love it! But I guess unless someone sponsors it, it won't happen. I would but I'm on a fixed income.
Maam I don't know if you read these...But if you want to hear the most aggressive powerful raspy female voice on this planet and I say that with great confidence...simply will blow you away that she can sing like that...one of the most impressive things I've ever heard...Eric Church and Lizzy Hale CMT music awards song called "Now that's rock and roll" frickin amazing
Renee - I have friends who do rock and metal (and growl) type singing.... they all say pretty much the same thing; spend some time forcing coughs, clearing of the throat, etc and it will point you right to the muscles and folds you need to identify and become comfortable with :)
YOUR VOICE SOUNDS VERY PURE. YOU CAN TELL THAT YOU ARE PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED. THE WAY TO GET THAT RASPINESS IS NOT TO SING FROM YOUR DIAPHRAGM BUT FROM YOUR THROAT I'VE BEEN A PROFESSIONAL MUSICIAN FOR OVER 30 YEARS I CANNOT SING I SING LIKE KURT COBAIN WHICH AGAIN IS ALL THROUGH I CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO SING FROM MY DIAPHRAGM BUT I HAVE BEEN A SINGER IN A FEW BANDS JUST BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE WANTED TO DO IT BUT AGAIN THAT REST CAN LEAD TO POLYPS I'M SURE YOU KNOW WHAT THEY ARE YOU DON'T WANT THEM BUT JUST A LITTLE ADVICE
Hii, cool reaction. The first album from bon jovi is the best and this song is one of my favorite.👌🏻 Can you next react unchained melody live from Elvis Presley?
Great guitar by samovar as always. Also a Great Singer. Dry county would be a good one live there you get to see the quality of his playing. Also dead or alive has an acoustic version where you get to see his singing abilities quite well.
Did I hear you say that you're doing Gretta Van Fleet (the Kiszka brothers) next? What will your reaction be on "WHEN THE CURTAIN FALLS or HEAT ABOVE"... Good to see you're getting out of your comfort zone! Let's do this! :)
Is there some way I could become one of the b-e-a-utiful people? Also wanted to mention, this was on MTV every day for like a year. You turned on the TV and this was all you would ever hear.
Miss Maggie good pick of song Bon Jovi was very good and started new trends in their the way they sang and their stage antics at liive shows. Again I will ask if you will do a group called THE PLATTERS The orginal group because the lead singer was so good How about ONLY YOU great song . These people were very importent on the directiom rock would go

I think people often overlook the importance of Richie Sambora in this song..his guitar and backing vocals.
And the writing of the actual song
Yes indeed!
Never!!! The guitar playing on this song is top tier and stands out and Richie in the video with the cowboy hat😮💨😍😍
No worries…Richie’s stans ALWAYS bring it up, as well as claiming he’s the reason the song is so epic, in fact, the only reason Bon Jovi was a success. Too bad he was such a drunk and undependable that he was canned.

Probably my favorite Bon Jovi song. I love Richie Samboras guitar work on this song. For me, the best from Bon Jovi.
As a life long Bon Jovi fan, you did us proud with your critique! I also saw the love you had in your eyes for Jon at the end of the music video, you made me smile! You get it! 💜
Some licks of those solos make my hair stand on end
Btw, Richie Sambora is one bad ass blues singer!!!! He can sing!!!!!! Thanks Trixie for sponsoring
nice voice. but I have seen Bon Jovi twice in Seattle and both times he was so drunk. He was unable to sing....(this was after is solo album so has a few songs on the set list)
check his Ballad of youth... it is worth
Completely correct.z. Check out the version of this song when they were doing MTV and an acoustic version. (It’s not the Bon Jovi unplugged session btw) Richie sings half of it, and it’s beyond amazing.
More Richie stans. Too bad he had to be kicked out because he was drunk and didn’t even show up sometimes. Yeah, great guy.
Gosh. Very smart lady.
PURE CHILLS With you singing along! 🤘🏼
💖🥳👍
Genuine reaction. Love it.

I love the whole Slippery When Wet Album, but this is one of my favorite songs on it. Thank you for another enjoyable reaction Miss Renee.
Such a fun ballad! I've always loved his distinctive vowel shapes! Rock on Bon Jovi! 🤘
Loved the song since 1986. Tremendous fun when Rocker Maggie is unleashed and you treat us to an epical performance of this one. Rock on 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴

My favorite Bon Jovi tune.
Really lifts as soon as it starts
Bin Jovi is my favorite band of all time! Saw them in concert on Valentine’s Day 2001., in Nashville, TN. Awesome concert!
one of Bon Jovi's epic ballads, If Young Guns doesn't instantly pop in your head, your missing it, Billy the Kid " I can make you famous" 🤘🤘
They were amazing in concert. I remember them from my preteen /teenage years. Bon Jovi, Poison, Twisted Sister, Lee Aaron, Helix, Warrent, Sass Jordan... Sums up those years.
So happy you enjoyed this one so much! Classic Bon Jovi. Great analysis!
Fun Fact: Emilio Estevez wanted to use this song in the movie Young Guns II,but Jon Bon Jovi didn't think it was good for a western. So,Jon wrote and sang "Blaze of Glory
' for the movie.
Yep, I like Blaze of Glory better too.
Bon Jovi ......."Dry County"....epic
I been to three of his concerts one of which was 4 hrs because the people were so loud and good it gave Bon Jovi a great feeling so we were rewarded with a extended concert
Used in the Miami Vice episode "El Viejo". Willie Nelson played an elderly retired Texas Ranger who comes to Miami for bloody vengeance on a drug lord. Watching him outwit and casually manhandle both vicious criminals and the supercool, badass Crockett is not to be missed.
I love your videos! I literally watch them as soon as I am alerted that you have posted one!!!
The thing that makes this song great is Richie Sambora's harmonies

This song was also in the movies young guns and rock of ages. A true classic that never dies.
Or was it young guns 2? One of them.
It wasn't used in either young guns movie. The producers asked about using it but JBJ said no. He wrote Blaze of Glory track and the soundtrack for the young guns 2 movie instead.
Blaze of Glory was in Young Guns
Slacking off over here a day late. Such an iconic song and a great reaction.
Thanks so much for your comment. Can't wait to see you tonight! 🤗💓🎵👍
Thanks for the "Bon Jovi fix" for the day. Definitely a rock ballad. The guitar solo is epic. Congrats on your San Francisco opera run. Looking forward to seeing more reactions... 🙂
Thank you! Can't wait to see you LIVE today! 🥰
Bon Jovi one of my favourite band. Dead or Alive is for me (Bon Jovi Top 5 song) 🎸🎤
My first big concert, with Cinderella. This was huge at the time.
Search Chapel Hart or AGT in the audition they perform an original You Can Have Him Jolene. Dolly tweeted she loves it. But she wants to keep her man. Loretta Lynn tweeted she wished they would cover her. Darius Rucker said he already has plans to include them on his next album.
If I 'd been 10 years older than I was in the 80s, I'd have dressed just like Jon Bon Jovi.
if you like this you'll love Bon Jovi's "blaze of glory"
*FYI... "Alegria" was written in 1994..,...."Wanted...." is from 1986.* 🔥🎵🎸🎵🔥
This used to be the opening song for deadliest catch the show where they catch crabs
One of my favorate songs. Your analysis is spot on.
Thanks so much for your comment. Can't wait to see you tonight! 🤗💓🎵👍

My favorite Bon Jovi song!
Always looking good when you react to videos this being ruled the 80s and still listen to today keep rocking love your channel peace
Thanks for your comment! 🥰 Can't wait to see you in the chats shortly! 💟
That walk down in the begining , Clapton did somewhat similar during his solo in the 70's version of "' Cocaine ". And many did it as well.
Jon and his wife Dorothy have been married since 1989 and have 4 children.
A great Glam band as well as a rock band.
NOT a BonJovi fan but this is one of the greatest songs ever written!!
The first concert I ever attended was Bon Jovi/Skid Row back in 1988. I still have the shirt! ;)
Awesome reaction, Maggie! Love this song... But to anyone who may know in the comments, is it just me or does the album version go on for longer than this? I'm sure the ending goes on for a bit longer and has some pretty epic drumming.
I saw Bon Jovi as an opening act on their first tour! Jon Bon Jovi was all of 20 years old maybe! Very good show!
Those backing vocals!
Or blaze of glory
You mean "Squidward on a Chair".
@@pacificcoastpiper3949 any of the songs on "Crossroads"
seeing/hearing this live In Cardiff was amazing the guys were incredible live
All I can see in my head when I hear this song is the movie "Young Guns". Young Guns 2 has Blaze of Glory, another awesome Bon Jovi song. Great Post, Maggie
I often think Bon Jovi was batter live than ... in the studio. The electricity was real.on the stage. Loved your reaction, getting into that groove. 🐴
Oooh this is a great reaction!!!! First bon jovi albums are amazing
Maggie the Rocker.
Takes me back to to when I was 14 years old,I'm 49!💖💖💖
Never Getting Over You - Gone West
It’s been a while since you’ve done an emotional video! I think you’d enjoy it.
Fave song from them
Some other artists I reccomend:
•Bob Seger
•CCR
•Aerosmith
•The Doors
•Journey (prior to '87)
•(more) Led Zeppelin
•(more) Bon Jovi
•Neil Diamond
•Chuck Berry
•Joan Jett
•Queen
•Bee Gees
•Boston
•Van Morrison
•Elvis Presley
•Eagles
•Bonnie Tyler
•Tom Petty
•Billy Joel
Richie is definitely a under rated guitars and vocalist.
Not really because there’s a Richie stan always available to point out that he was the true heart and soul of the band. Ridiculous.
Thank you for your suggestions. 🤘
Wow...very cool
I enjoyed Richies solo album. BALLAD OF YOUTH was a great song...
Blaze of Glory & Bad Medicine are awesome too!!!
Great video! Being who you are makes you a rock star! The look is merely a novelty😊
Great video Maggie I love this song 🎵 ❤️
i met bon Jovi at Covent house ft Lauderdale on breakers st next to beach and hojos
I think you got a Jon Bon crush, I also like how you appreciate samboras awesome lead
Looking beautiful as always!
You're so sweet, thank you ❤
well you got the right band this time
Hii, cool reaction. The first album from bon jovi is the best and this song is one of my favorite.👌🏻
Can you next react unchained melody live from Elvis Presley?
Another suggestion for you by bon Jovi is "you give love a bad name"
Need to do Blaze of Glory
Ooo good suggestion! Never seen it, but heard of it!
The live version from the mtv music awards is the best one.
Some people are genetically different. Very cool. I think rasp is more like you have or don’t. I can go full rasp but subtle rasp is so hard.
Great guitar by samovar as always. Also a Great Singer. Dry county would be a good one live there you get to see the quality of his playing. Also dead or alive has an acoustic version where you get to see his singing abilities quite well.
misses every song re-singing three lines back
Please react to The Gaither Vocal Band singing “ Let Freedom Ring” live at Carnegie Hall featuring David Phelps. Amazballs!!!!!
Did I hear you say that you're doing Gretta Van Fleet (the Kiszka brothers) next? What will your reaction be on "WHEN THE CURTAIN FALLS or HEAT ABOVE"... Good to see you're getting out of your comfort zone! Let's do this! :)
I love this song one ☝🏻 of my favorites 🐴. And great video Maggie.
You should check out the music video Blaze of Glory. He did the soundtrack for the movie Young Guns two.
Is there some way I could become one of the b-e-a-utiful people? Also wanted to mention, this was on MTV every day for like a year. You turned on the TV and this was all you would ever hear.
Love watching your reactions! I would would really love to see your reaction to Steelheart “I’ll Never Let You Go”. You would love his vocals!!!
Bon Jovi - Blaze Of Glory, if you want another epic BJ cowboy song!
The video for Poison's Something To Believe In has a similar feel with the backstage stuff...
My pocket karaoke song right here.
I like this original version but I also like the cover version that Montgomery Gentry did.
Miss Maggie good pick of song Bon Jovi was very good and started new trends in their the way they sang and their stage antics at liive shows. Again I will ask if you will do a group called THE PLATTERS The orginal group because the lead singer was so good How about ONLY YOU great song . These people were very importent on the directiom rock would go
Great reaction to a great song! If you can find a version where Richie sambora is singing , his voice is much richer than John’s 🤘🏾😎
He sounds bluesy. Doesn’t fit well with rock, imo. He’s not raspy enough.
