Thank you for clearly showing the settings for releasing the shutter w/o lens! I just got a manual helios anamorfake lens and struggled to figure out what I needed to do for it to work.

I’m glad I could help. It’s not the most intuitive thing to find. Enjoy your new lens.

Manual Focus, focus peaking, FV mode and a 24mm f/1.4 TTartisan or 50mm f/1.1 Kamlan lens. The M6 mark II is a great camera.

Manual lenses really change the feel of the camera and remind me a lot of my old AE1 film days.

Thank you for this. I've just bought myself a 2nd hand 500mm telephoto lens to get better images of the Moon and the planets beyond. I'm only able to get photos in certain modes but need to do more reading to understand all the limits and settings I can use.

Manual is definitely the way to shoot the moon. I usually go for about an 400-800 iso and a high f stop but no more than a 2sec exposure. Using start stacker and lots of varied exposures can help too.

This past summer, I really enjoyed using a manual M-mount, F 2.8, 7.5mm fisheye for astrophotography with my M6 II. The depth of field ensures easy focusing - even in the dark. And the the 180 degree sweep provides awesome views of both sky and foreground. I saw your video on the blood moon, but have you thought about a session on astrophotography with the M6 II?

Astro is something I’ve really not tried properly. I failed at it miserably one time last year and since read up on techniques but have yet to put what I’ve learned into practice.
I’m very keen to try my Laowa 9mm for it.

Hi..nice video..I have the same camera and the same lens...How do you like the pictures taken with this lens? I mostly use it during my explorations..I think that the pics are a bit soft at sides.

I think that’s just a inherent trait of ultra wide angles lenses. Because it’s recliner it’s stretching out the corners of, what would otherwise be, a fisheyes effect and this unfortunately results in the edges being soft. I’m yet to see an ultra wide that doesn’t have soft edges. That said it can create a unique artistic look if you lean into it a bit.
