This was honestly the most indepth M6 MkII review I've seen. It's a great camera
Appreciate it my friend 🙏 It's an awesome camera.
I am quite happy with the canon m6 mark ii. I was doubting between this and the 90d, but im actually very impressed with the power of this little camera and the result of my videos. Size was a deciding factor for me.

NOTE: Burst shooting is at 14fps not 24fps (I was so focused on frame rates that I misspoke). Thank you @Chris Berlin for noticing!
What's up everyone?! I hope this review of the Canon M6MKII was helpful. Did you like it? I think this camera may have taken over as my favorite entry-level mirrorless camera from Canon. The image quality is excellent, the dual pixel autofocus is fantastic and although I wish there was a fully articulating screen, the user experience is still great with the frip touchscreen.
Was there too much detail? Not enough? What did you like, and also, what did you not like? What would you like to see more of? Would love to know what you think, good or bad. I am grateful in advance 🙏
Love how u explain it! Ya an amazing teacher
Thank you so much for the kind words.
Wicked review and as always your teachings and explanations are the BOMB! Keep up the great work, mate.
Yet again a very well made review video, thank you so much! 👍👍
Glad you liked it Dirk! Appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback 🙏
By far the best review I've seen of this camera 🙌
well done👍
Appreciate the detailed review! Thank you and this helped me go confident with M6 Mark ii purchase! 👍🏾

I really like how you review products, this has really help me a lot. Thanks
Glad you liked it! Appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback 🙏 Thanks for being part of the channel!
Another great review as always. Very honest and great style. I understand the speed booster but a vid showing it on the M6ii would be great.
Thank you so much for the kind words and support 🙏 I'll work on it!
Thanks for your huge effort spent to build this amazing review for us all!
Thanks for this! Perfect explanation.
Glad you liked it Matt! This is an awesome camera!
Thanks for your efforts! Wondering if you’d recommend the Sigma 18-35 with that speedbooster?
YES!!!! All day!
Tech Gear Talk any vignette issues you think?
Not ones that have stopped me from using it.
@@TechGearTalk that speedbooster says it adapts ef lenses to ef-m mounts. Might be a stupid question but how does that work? The M6 is ef-m and the sigma lens is ef-m. Do you see my confusion or am i missing something obvious?
@@theboredtrucker3898 The Sigma 18-35 for Canon is EF-S mount. 👍
Great review! I had a hard time deciding between the M6 II and the 90D and went with the 90D for now. Looking forward to your comparison!
Thanks Igor - both fantastic cameras - comparison coming soon!
Your videos are easy to watch and easy to understand. Great content !
Another informative and thorough video. Thanks for all the great content on your channel!

I’m really anticipating this one too.
fantastic vid with excellent resources! you sold me on this cam and a cpl accessories! My go-to channel!
Watching this in 2021 and you’ve definitely helped clear all my doubts about this camera
I’m going to get 💃🏻🔥 thank you
Thank you for your thorough review! I bought an M50 in December, but just bought the M6 Mk II here in March to overcome some of those limitations. This video helped me understand the pros and cons and make a confident buying decision.
Super glad it was helpful Tom and congrats on the new M6MKII!!!
Hello, now you prefer to take Photos with Canon M50 or M6 MarkII ? Which is best for Photos ?
@@PHILGOODOK1 I prefer the M6MkII. It has a higher resolution sensor and additional features, but that comes with its higher price. However, photos with the M50 are still great, and I wouldn't hesitate to grab either camera for photos.
@@tom_schroeder Thank you
I bought the M6 Mk11 at launch and love it. Also worth noting the FV mode, which gives great flexibility, easily switching between manual, aperture and shutter speed modes. Great little camera.
Great point Clive!
Wow mk11? Do you have a time machine?
Brilliant overview, thank you!
This was a very nicely done review, thank you.
Glad that you liked it - thank you for watching and joining the channel.
When using the M series cameras, I use them exclusively with EFS and full frame glass plus with the advent of speed-boosters (I have the Viltrox) this gives me excellent flexibility in getting the most out of my lenses. The M6II sounds like a no brainier addition to my beloved M5. I even have the EVF from my old M3 that I can use with it thus saving the 200 dollars. 😄🙏🏾
Yes, for the best quality I use my L series glass with a speedbooster or an adapter.
I like the 32mm f/1.4 ef-m and the 22m f/2 ef-m lenses as well. Nice that you have the EVF already!!
It’s such a huge step above my M50 I’m seriously considering it. I’d love to have 4K60 even if just for a minute or two so I can have slow mo in 4K, but oh well.
A superb review. Thank you. I bought the M6 and your excellent video here was really helpful in helping me to decide. I keep coming back to this video to understand more of the possibilities for and specifications of the camera.
So glad it's helpful. I used an M6mkii shooting today's video!
Great information thank you 🙏🏽
I would like to see a more in-depth video about lenses, adapters, and the speed boosters. I think this would really help when choosing a lense for certain camera.
Great video!
Appreciate the input - will work on it!
Tech Gear Talk yes I agree! I need more info on speed boosters/adapters as well. As always, your hard works is appreciated.
Thanks Zac
I heard that u can charge the m6 mark 2 with a normal usb c cable and charger without any special adapter. Is it right ?
@@nickjonas2732 as long as it puts out enough power. I have a cigarette lighter plug that works, an 18w portable battery that works and my laptop too. All USB c. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to charge while operating so really extended shoots require a dummy battery adapter.
this sounds like a great canera, I had the M6, how would you compare it to the M6II in terms of ergonomics? I know the rest is better...
Hi. I’ve used both and I like the ergonomics on the mkii better. It’s bigger and more comfortable to hold. The grip is better. I hope that helps. Welcome to the channel.
Wow! Thank you for such a review. Our family has made the right purchase. Thanks👏🏾
Great video! I don't know a great deal about cameras but you explained it really well! I've had my eye on this camera since it came out and am definitely getting one soon 😊
So glad it was helpful Annie! Thanks so much for being part and supporting the channel!
Hmmm, was really looking at the M50...tthis one is nice but no articulated screen! Very good information you offer!
Glad the video is helpful! I still ended up using this over the M50. But only if I wanted 4k
What did you get? I also was set on the M50 but now im not sure!
@@hanoitripper1809 I did get the M50 and am happy with it. Don't really care about the 4k right now and the articulated screen on the M50 ...well I like it!
This video helped me a ton when I decided to buy the M6 Mark II. :) The video capabilities may not be as impressive as on Sony Alphas, but as you said, the ergonomics and the mobile app are excellent. Thanks a lot for the video!
I'm super glad it was helpful Tony! Thank you for the kind words and for being part of the community 🙏 Enjoy your M6II!!!
This video was perfection, i'm grabbing this baby in the next few weeks for my youtube !!
Great and thorough review, thank you!
Great review as usual, Sagi. Informative and all bases covered. The EF-M range of lenses now is half-decent so switching to a Canon mirrorless is certainly more tempting. I'll stick with my 200D and lenses....for now. :-)
Thank you Karl. Yes, that 32 f/1.4 is awesome and love that Sigma is getting in the game. Means other 3rd parties are next!
Appreciate your insights as always.
Great review now I am going to buy the M6 over the M50 👌🏽👏🏽

Oh wow… thank you so much 🙏🏻 appreciate you being part of the channel.
Why can’t they just keep the design of the m50
different lines. We'll have an m50 mk ii ua-cam.com/video/C8q_dxRvYNo/v-deo.html
Lack of EVF included takes it to another level of price range too.... Not a fan of Canon doing that
Unless you're in the US. But you can look at it this way: Instead of charging every person for a viewfinder they may not use, Canon is only charging the people who need it - just a thought.
I bought a kit and have the EVF for free as said in the vid (in France). Very happy with this little thing...

I’m so glad it was helpful - thank you for the feedback and for being part of the channel 🙏🏻
Great review, thanks! Sometimes I find jpgs from my current cameras (Canon G15, Fuji HS20) are just over exposed and washed out regardless of shooting mode so I’m looking to use raw mode more on my next camera (either an M6 mkII or xt30), however I’m not keen to spend days in post production for vacation photos or learning an overwhelming photoshop type tool. Are either of Fuji/Canon’s companion converter software up to the task without being daunting? Thanks.
Amazingly in-depth review! Thank you! I’m looking at purchasing this as my first ever non-point-and-shoot camera, for use both to Vlog, as well as to learn photography. I’m going to check out some of your other videos now. I’m really interested in the speed booster you mentioned, while using the 11-22 lens. Thanks again and keep it up!
So glad you found the video helpful John. One thing, the Speed Booster is only available for lenses designed for DSLRs - so the 11-22 will not work. I need to create a video about that. Welcome to the channel!
Oh wow, thanks for the tip! Is there a speed booster that will work with the EF-M lenses? It seemed so when I was searching but this is all new to me. I appreciate the advice! I’ll go watch more of your videos. ;)
Glad I could help. No, there is no speedbooster that would work with EF-M lenses because of how it operates - it's not possible. Let me know if you have questions
Really helpful review, thanks!
Thanks for watching! Glad I could help. Thanks for being part of the channel 🙏

My M6 MkII is coming today (I hope). I have watched many reviews, and "how to's" and yours is the best I have seen. I can't wait to get my hands on my first Canon since the 20D from many years ago. I have been shooting with Nikon's for years. Now I want to try mirrorless for the first time. Thanks for the review!
This was so helpful, thank you.
So glad to hear it. Thank you for being part of the channel!
Really amazing video, and content!

New to the channel, great vid! How was your video footage so stabilised? Any accessory you used?
Hi Joe, and welcome! I was using a zhiyun M2 for many of those shots
Thank you. Your video was extremely helpful, the detail provided was very useful. I am leaning toward purchasing the M6 Mark II instead of the 90D. On the mirrorless, I have heard there have been issues with dust entering the sensor. Does the M6 Mark II have a front curtain shutter? Also, have you experienced issues with dust or even moisture? Thanks for your help.
I love ur honest review sir... It's good for short film making??
Great explanation, thanks 🤚
I'm super glad it was helpful! Thank you for the kind words and for joining the community 🙏
HI!! thank you for your video. I have the first M6 and because of your video review I went for it, that and the $330 price tag!! yes, when the M6II went out the M6 got a lot cheaper and the extra feautures were not that important for me since I have a D7500 Nikon, and I wanted a more "pocket size" but ended up with this, even do it is not any pocket size, but being able to change lenses gives me the idea of taking this much smaller body and be more happy than with my phone. Thanks!! I know a good purchase (buying the old model)
I'm so glad the videos have bee helpful! CONGRATS on the new camera 👊
This videos details sold me thank you Sagi.
Question I'm this price range, anything else you would recommend for a live streaming workhorse. I'd like to have a 3 camera setup.
Thank you for your time
Great I really love this camera I agree on what you pointed out on pros and cons, bought this camera after watching some reviews and this is the one of the videos that pushed me to buy this camera over other competition. I also made an unboxing on m6 mark ii and its great! Btw. 24p is now available! Thank you for great review!
Congrats my friend.
Thank you for a detailed thorough informed review.
Hope it was helpful. Thank you for being part of the channel!
Great and informative review, Thank You so much... How will the EF-M 32mm f:1,4 perform with the speedbooster in IQ and vignette issues and other lens situations? Or is the Speedbooster only for EF and EF-S lenses?
thanks for sharing.
I really like your videos explaining the devices. Would it be possible to make a video showing the M6 mk2 as a webcam with e.g. 32mm lens? To show what works and what does not with this camera, what are the challenges, e.g. with clean HDMI mode (with e.g. Elgato capture card) - this would be great to learn how this camera performs in this mode and how the end produce does look like.
It would be very much appreciated.
amazing content! you are the best!
Thanks so much, appreciate you!
I am buing this just right now :-) Thx a lot. Greetings from Poland.
Thank you very much for sharing this excellent video! I was wondering should I update my M6? I usually use M6 to shoot?
Excellent review. I’m convinced: I want one!

Excellent review
Love your videos so much great information. I have a question on the 15-45 mm lens, when the lens is in normal use how then do you get it back into it housing when not in use. Thanks
You're very welcome Glen - glad they are helpful. There is a little tab that you can pull, then twist the lens back into place. DM me on IG and I'll send you a small video.
Not that I'm planning on getting this camera. But I still liked to watch the video. Great work
Thank you so much for watching and for the feedback. I appreciate your support Thomas.
awesome review! Curious, but have you tested long exposures with this Mk II at all? I have a Mk I M6 and it was stuck in Busy Mode for almost as long as the shutter speed so it made it a little difficult to do time lapses. have you experienced shorter processing times with this new Mk II?
I have several questions regarding the M6. I was super on the fence between the 90D and the M6 MkII and your video comparison between the two really sold me on the M6 for one main reason. The Speedbooster adapter. My main use case will be up close 4k video indoors where space is a concern and the sensor's default crop factor would be a huge pain due to lack of maneuverability. The adapter seems to solve this somewhat and seems to have the added benefit of allowing a lower F stop which to me seems like its worth $$$$ just for that fact alone.
My questions are though:
1. Does the adapter interfere with the built in Image stabilization, OR the any of the EF lens IS?
2. Have they addressed the audio levels issue where you could not adjust levels during recording? If so an external recorder might unfortunately make more sense?
3. How does it perform in low light. I saw a 4k video test of the 90D in low light at around 6k ISO and it had very little noise. The walkthrough in your video of the hotel looked fairly noisy but without knowing other parts of your setup its hard to blame it entirely on the camera. Would the Speedbooster with a fast lens improve noise at low light?
Thanks for your super thorough review :)
Very good and informative video.
Glad you liked it! Appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback 🙏
The main thing holding me back is the view finder...I've read from some that since it's not built in, there can be a delay from taking a photo to the point of viewing in on the screen. Thoughts
Love your reviews by the way
I love my Canon eosr but just recently I brought this m6 mkii for vlogging mainly but now I have used it it is also a fantastic photography camera too, for a camera less than 1k I think it is a bargain of the century. I recommend getting the 16mm f 1.4 if you vlog as I do, it is an awesome combo.
Appreciate your first-hand knowledge! Yes, that 16mm 1.4 is great.
Great video! If you connect an external monitor via the hdmi, does the camera screen go black like it does on the M50?
Wooooow
Much awaited video from you
Thanks for uploading
I really love this camera - so powerful. Interested in hearing what you think.
Of course it's a great device
Almost the best mirrorless from Canon
The sensor could have even better DR if it was a 24-26 MP sensor
I think 32MP is too much for an aps-c sensor
wouldn't you live to be able to test the sensors independently?
Great review, appreciate the thoroughness of bridging the gap between tech and laymen.
Can you recommend the best lenses to consider for filming/shooting softball games?
Glad you enjoyed the video. The answer depends on how you meant the question. If you truly want the best then we're looking at lenses that cost several thousand dollars - but unless you're getting paid for theme photos, you don't need those. If you're just doing this for fun, then you can take a look at the 55-200 as it will give you the most zoom in the ef-m line up (for now). Check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/2J4C_RDEg5Y/v-deo.html If you need even more zoom, then you can look at a Canon 70-300 (it's affordable but is an EF-S lens so it will require an adapter). Hope this helps. Thanks for being part of the channel!
@@TechGearTalk Thanks for taking the time to answer that so thoroughly.
So glad I found and have now subscribed to your channel. I just bought this little camera and threw on an old 85 1.8 to shoot in some low light school gyms for plays and such. I really hope you find the time to explain and talk about speed boosters. (What was the brand you mentioned?)

Nice video! I noticed that you are using Zhiyun M2 gimbal, would you recommend this gimbal for this camera?
First quarter of 2023 and I just bought a Canon refurb M6 MkII. I still use an original M6 when I want to travel light. Liking the MkII for what it is.... very capable and some nice upgrades from the M6.
I'd consider it over the M50 MKII except for the flip-up screen vs. the articulating screen. Screen would get obstructed if mounting a mic or any other accessory on the hot shoe.
Great video! The resort in your B-roll looks amazing! What resort is it? I need to get there ASAP.
