Almost 20 years of a toxic relationship, kept thinking it would get better., left for 10 months had to go back for unforeseen circumstances. Several children involved. I’m trapped completely

8 months out! 🙌 From a 9 year toxic relationship. I set a boundary (if you cheat on me again, I’m leaving you), she broke it, I left. She didn’t think I wouldn’t bc I hadn’t before. Multiple times cheating. I would still be in it if it weren’t for friends.

A lot of parallels there. I have some issues with control. When I visualise myself having that beginning conversation in a new relationship , the boundaries and demands I set out seem so strange and random. I like that you said, you don’t have to have it all figured out, thats also one of the ‘warnings’ I’ll put in that list… I don’t have this all figured out, there’s lots of stuff I have figured out but this isn’t one of them. It's weird... I have been going out with my gf for 3 years now and we have a beautiful daughter together... Recently we have been going through a rough patch and the amount of signs I have seen related to my situation are everywhere

I was stuck for a year in one and it almost killed me. It's so hard to break the cycle and get out. It takes time to heal , I still get pstd
I'm glad you're healing now. It's so dangerous to be in that trapped place and it grows more traumatic the longer we stay ❤🦋
@@KyLives2 I've definitely been experiencing trauma from the past relationship , but I've met and found someone who I adore now and things feel right. I thought I'd never get over it, but with time things get better

@@KyLives2 Wow...I was only in it for less than 3 months and it's jacked me up real good.
Some of the people who have reached out have been in it for decades with kids, mortgages, the works. The main thing is you're free, and you can begin again 🦋
So the person became toxic because of your income or did you ignore red flags?
I probably ignored everything in that particular relationship. I was determined to see it as the perfect love story 😅
