Thanks for your work so I could watch this in Canada. I saw 4014 in Pomona when I was a little kid. I told my dad they should fix her so she could run again. He told me that would never happen. Love you dad. I saw Big Boy run again. As much as I love seeing it run at speed, Im more impressed to see the engineer run the giant flame breather as gentle as a lamb. Cheers from PEI.

Hopefully Big Boy gets whatever issues it had out of it after this trip and gets decades of service to to come. Congrats to UP for restoring an American icon!

Thank you very much for sharing this full length video! Very well done! This is much better than anything we can buy from the major producers who still do everything in DVD quality.

Enjoyed every minute of this magnificent footage. The long lens helps capture the scenery which for me (as a Dutch/Australian who spent time driving across some of these parts of the US) adds to the event. Well done sir. I look forward to seeing much more footage as you capture what comes next.

What's that amazingly quaint little town around the 43 minute mark - the tiny cluster of houses out in the middle of the vast prairie - it's almost heart-achingly idyllic!
Thanks for capturing all this amazing footage of 4014 returned to the rails, alive and steaming!

My congratulations and grateful thanks to UP for investing in its own history as well as the great traditions and history of the United States of America. My congratulations also go to Fan Railer, who has supplied the best compilations yet to be seen as of this date. I have read so many opinions sounding like: "4014 has these issues. 844 has those issues." Although I am a fanatic enthusiast of steam power, I cannot tell who has what issues, but with the millions in dollars and human knowledge UP has already invested, I would have full faith that they will correct any issues that appear during the break-in period. I'm sorry not to see 844 high-balling the way we know she can, but she has to work with the breaking in of 4014. These videos are irreplaceable for the many of us who cannot be there in person. Thank you!

So glad to hear the 4014 Big Boy whistle under it's own steam power instead of that annoying toot toot from the Diesel that towed it back to Cheyenne.

At first I didn’t know it take a few days for them to get to Ogden I thought they be there in one day but never mind, and nice footage of the #4014 and #844! 😃

That is pretty cool! Thanks for making the video. The best for me was seeing the lead drivers slip as the Bigboy was taking off at 20:10 with slipping at 20:33! No wonder after a few days of running the lead drivers were turning gray from what I assume are sand going down.

This is very awesome footage! I hope you enjoyed the chase. Wait until 2021 or 2022 to catch the third operational steam locomotive that UP is going to restore soon, which is Challenger 3985. It hasn’t seen service since 2010 and was waiting this long for an overhaul due to 4014's restoration.

Man, does that locomotive (UP 4014) have power to spare pulling that passenger train. Seems to be doing its thing with little effort. Would love to see video of this engine pulling a 5000+ ton freight train upgrade! Wonderful video shots and thanks for sharing!
