That opening shot at Dalton I use to set in that parking garage back in early 90’s as I worked as a consultant at a carpet mill there for about six months. There was a dinner next to the track there as the Carpet company took me there to try to hire me and C40-8 7575 in ghost gray went by the window so close felt like I could lean out and touch it.

CSX may not be my personal favorite Railroad, but it's slowly creeping up my list, especially since I got a job offer from them to be a Freight Conductor.

Although commonly called "diesels," the locomotives actually are electrically driven. The diesel engine drives an alternator, which produces electricity to run electric motors mounted on the locomotive's axles.
Generator that is mounted on the same shaft that the engine has in it …. The traction motors that receive the energy produced by the shaft driven generator are “ axle hung “ traction motors , hope this helps …its still referenced today in the operating environment as an engine , rules , shops etc…
CINCINNATI BRIDGE The bridge in Cincinnati at 50:44 could do with a coat of paint...... It is false economy to let it deteriorate to the state where it will need lots more spending on it in due course. A substantial amount of TLC now will pay dividends in the long run.......and it will look prettier... Come on now...get the sand-blasters, welding torches, paint and paint brushes out of the box... Best of CSX Transportation. They sure had some fine catches. Heritage units included too. CSX is a nice railroad
That and the fact that they have one of the lowest rates of Freight Train Interference with Amtrak.
They treat their employees like shit.
