Just took my dog to the vet regarding this problem. We did a UA and a blood panel.
It's a darn good thing we did because we found a high glucose level and diabetes. So she'll be on insulin injections until I can get it under control with a low carb, fresh whole foods diet and plenty of exercise.
If your dog becomes incontinent go for the UA and blood panel. Those tests get answers fast.

You talked a lot about female dogs but I have a male dog with bladder incontinence issues and no other symptoms of kidney disease or UTI also he isn't having apparent difficulty or increased frequency of urination just leaking while resting or sleeping.

Daniel I would recommend to have your vet check his prostrate if this hasn't been done yet. I would also recommend to speak with your vet about any prescription medication that would helpful for your male. Sheryl at Revival

I'm sorry we're not able to diagnose your females condition. I would recommend to consult with your vet and let them know her condition isn't improving. Let them know all the symptom you see and also ask what your options for treatment are. Sheryl at Revival
