Thank you so much for this advice!
I love the suggestion abt a baby wipe warmer. Thanks so much for this supportive reminder abt options.
THANKS! Not a lot of people think of that but it just feels nicer! :)
Great video thank you so much. It’s been a great help so I can better understand my dog.
You're very welcome - I'm glad it was helpful!
How long does it take for proin er to work and how long does it work? I just got this med for my dog then i saw this!
It usually takes abotu 30 days to see full effect. :)
@@marygardnerdvm5134 Thank you for responding. That is good to know. I did not know what I did not know until I left the vet! Have a great day.
That's usually the way. And even when we vets delivery news and information - usually owners are a bit worried and not everything sinks in. Which, to be fair, I do when I see my own doctor! :) @@SpartaWarriorCodeRed
Vets here in California charge $600 for bloodworm! For one tooth 3grand!! Who can afford?!
Things have definitely changed in many veterinary practices the last few years. My lab is 17 and has had spay incontinence since the age of two. Proin has managed the condition for all these years but when my vet practice sold out to a global conglomerate, they refused to continue refilling her prescription without vet visits (60 mile roundtrip) and expensive testing. Previously, my vet and I had an understanding that my priority is to ensure a comfortable and happy seniorhood for her but to have the courage to let her go when she's ready. Now we're dealing with the incontinence, daily blanket washing (without a washer and dryer), her humiliation at wearing a doggy diaper at night (and my feelings of guilt about it), etc., etc. No veterinarians in my area will take new patients right now for some reason. I cry almost every day at the frustration and unfairness and have lost all faith and trust in veterinary medicine. It appears that the field has become all about the money, not the love of animals. No common person can afford it any longer and they don't care. May God have mercy on their souls.
@@teslinjoe5938 Wow your comment made me cry. I have two senior dogs and an 8 year old GSD with exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. The bills are huge! My husband cannot retire, we have all older cars and we do not travel because most of our money goes to our fur babies. We love them so much we are willing to sacrifice until they pass. You seem like someone who loves their fur baby like we do. It is really hard but worth the unconditional love!
