Thanks so much! I learned a couple of new things that could have helped if I had watched the video before helping a befriended breeder whelp his litter last night.

Thank you! If you don't have a feeding tube, what's the next best protocol for feeding a newborn pupp

Puppies under 2 weeks of age don't have a gag reflux action. It's best to tube feed them because syringing or bottle feeding may cause them to aspirate fluid into the lungs. Feeding tubes are inexpensive to have on hand at all times. Bottle feeding is ok if they have a good suction notion. The Paws Squad

i'm a bit confused with the calcium in one of those last questions right at the end of the webinar, to give or not to give, i have heard both, would you mind clarifying, thanks so much for all the info, sadly we can't get your products in Australia, and one other question at what day do you give neonates probiotics, and for how many days?

I had a mother that was panting for two days after delivery. She has stopped now but I want your thoughts for next time. I had the oral Cal powder on hand, but not the gel that is used during labor. Would the powder be appropriate to mix for during labor and after? If so, would I make it into a paste like the gel?

Christ Centered Coaches, if you're in a pinch and don't have the Oral Cal Gel, you can use the Oral Cal Powder. It won't be an instantaneous effect as the Oral Cal Gel because it has to go through the digestive tract to get into the system. The gel is fast acting/slow acting. When having a low calcium level, the gel is quick to bring the levels back up again. Sheryl at Revival

Should puppies go in the incubator right after birth then? I thought they should be immediately put with the dam.

It's ok to let the puppies go on mom. Some people will remove the puppies and put them on a heating pad or in the incubator. This is good to do so mom can focus on delivering the next pups and it ensures no pups get squashed during labor. Sheryl at Revival.
