My 21 year old fur baby was diagnosed with colitis too!
Its scary and hard to watch an animal go through this. She was pooping blood and i rushed her to the vet, thinking the worst...cancer. Did i mention my dog is 21 lol
You've taken very good care of her. I had a small terrier mix that lived to be 18 but his arthritis was so bad by then he was suffering and we had to let him go. I miss him still and that was fifteen years ago. Fast forward and I have four rescues that keep me busy. 🙂

Food allergies are not uncommon in dogs. Grain is the most common. My cousin had a boxer that was allergic to ham. Really rank gas can be a warning sign of an allergy. Adding a little canned pumpkin to their food can help firm up their poo until their system recovers.
Rice is good too since not all dogs can have pumpkin

He reminded me of my pup who also had a very sensitive stomach. We gave her all types of vet recommended tonics to improve her gut health😢

I have a dog similar to Milo, as far as looks. She also has colitis, but with a change in diet she is great 😊

PRIME 100 dog food or treats are priced out of this world!!! $145.00 for a small bag of dog food is just Ridiculous!!!!!
I'm glad to hear that their products are priced so high. Hopefully it will discourage people from purchasing them. Until I saw this video, I believed that Bondi Vet was firmly opposed to the mistreatment of animals, but apparently this is not the case. Perhaps Dr. Scott can visit the source of the ducks and lambs that go into these dog foods, and show how they are raised and slaughtered. Are the ducks hung upside-down and then have their necks sliced so they bleed to death? What about the lambs? Would Dr. Scott feel this is ok, especially since it's known that dogs can thrive without meat in their diet? Be consistent, Bondi Vet! You don't need to support a company that supports an industry like this!
This family is clearly rich, so it doesn’t bother them.

For about 28 seconds starting at 8:22 they discuss the dog's improved health with the bag of dog food displayed on the screen. It felt like an infomercial. I wouldn't be surprised if they had an arrangement with the dog food company. I wonder if Allyson ever treats ducks, and if there is a hypoallergenic duck food containing dogs. Ducks have as much right to live as dogs.
Dogs need meat to be healthy. Stop picking fault
@@TiggiTheWillful First of all, I just clicked on "show more" after the video description & noticed where it said the video was "in partnership with Prime 100." I didn't notice that statement when I first watched the video, so I wasn't wrong about their "arrangement with the dog food company." Secondly, I don't feel like I'm being picky in the least. If you google "do dogs need meat in their diet," it says, "Dogs can thrive without meat, but only if they are fed a properly balanced vegetarian diet." This is from the American Kennel Club link. Back in 1988 I was part of an animal rights group and had a book called "Dogs and Cats go Vegetarian" (which is still available), & spoke on the phone with one of the authors (Barbara Peden). By then I'd already become vegan myself. So..where do the ducks come from that go into the dog food? Aren't you curious at all? Also, if the dog's "owners" left their dog with an uncle for "a long weekend", and supposedly when they got it back it was in worse health, how can they say that they don't know what the uncle fed it? Ask him! If they're not on speaking terms with the uncle, then he shouldn't be watching their dog! I'm pretty sure they wanted a "lead-in" for the dog food promotion, so that's how they went about it. Let me mention that Bondi Vet is one of my favorite UA-cam channels, and I've watched some of their videos several times. That's probably why I felt so uncomfortable and disappointed watching this one. If Allyson or somebody can tell me where the "dog food ducks" come from, and how they are killed, it'd be an interesting bit of information.
Shame shame on that family member that ““ spoiled that poor little dog With colitis. I have IBS and really if I eat the wrong food I’m miserable. That family member really effed up the digestive track I would not let that family member babysit the dog again😢
She said the uncle watched him while they were away for a long weekend ( 12 seconds starting at 2:14 ) but they don't know what he ate. So why couldn't they ask the uncle?? How does that make sense??
Potatoes r not something you want to have ur dog eat if they have yeast issues
Try being a human with colitis for decades. Quit doing to restaurants years ago. Food can be a trigger.
My pittie pup has IBD. Instead of going the pharmaceutical route, I changed his diet. He no longer eats “regular” commercial dog food. I cook for him…ground turkey or beef, sweet potatoes, spinach. Good probiotic tablet. His poop went from runny & bloody to healthy color/texture. Now that he is “in remission” he is able to have other whole foods, such as eggs, salmon, carrots, apples, blueberries & the like. And I have recently found several dry dog foods that are actually all whole food ingredients that he likes. So, he gets half cooked food & half dry food. His skin, coat & stool are all great!
