- I review the best grow lights I have tested for a 2ft x 2ft or 60cm x 60cm grow space. These are the best grow lights from 100 watts to 150 watts I have tested and are available on the market today.
Full blog post here: migrolight.com/blogs/grow-lig...
The calculation for 3 year cost is based on delivering 800 µmols average PAR to the plant canopy in a 2ft x 2ft area. The cost includes the price of the fixture and the cost of electricity at the average US rate of 16.8C per KW hour run for 3 years at 12 hours per day.

Here in the UK the Viparspectra is actually 25% more expensive to purchase than your own Migro Aray 2, so for me that makes your light top of the list 👍
In the EU shop It's cost around 200EUR. I ask them why and they said taxes, shipping ect, but I don't see this big price difference in any other companies products. Sadly this makes this amazing lamp a really no-go for Europians.
MIGRO in the other hand have a much nicer looking price in this case, and I do trust him much more then any other seller.
@@thombazMars Hydro FC 1500 Evo, get that, prices in EU are okay too, viparspectra takes like 3-4 times taxes, shipping etc... cant accept that u can buy it in the US for over the half as here.. and they even got warehouses in EU... so...
Bought Viparspectra XS1500 Pro .. Waiting for delivery .. Thanks a lot
When people ask what's a good light I steer them to this site. We appreciate the work you do, thanks for cutting through the BS and publishing real data we can use.
The fan in the aero light helps blow the warm air down on to the plants as led don’t provide the heat needed to grow properly in cold conditions..
Love your honesty about the competition. When my viparspectras eventually crap out I'll buy a Migro Aray. The extra efficiency looks nice.
I'm about to finish my first run with the Viparspectra XS1500 pro, I want to say this is a great light and great price, but there are a few downsides to consider that you haven't mentioned. Firstly, the light gets very hot, i personally feel it needs a fan pointed at it, so you will want to get an additional fan. Another thing is the non detachable AC cord, this makes it hard to remove the light from your tent quickly. My third and biggest gripe is the dimmer knob, i wish it were a true dimmer and not a 4 position switch, this makes it hard to dial in the perfect PPFD because you are stuck with adjusting the height of the light to dim versus just turning a knob. Also i'm not sure if this was other issues, but my plants didn't really respond to this light like my previous viparspectra light, but i'm gonna do another run with a different strain and see if it was just my plant being slow/stunted!
Loving the content. Appreciate the knowledge and care you put into your videos.
I bought the viparspectra xs1500pro after watching your first review of it. Been using it for a couple months and it's great in my little spider farmer tent. I saw your first review and new that was the 1. Thanks for doing what you do. Keep up the great job.
I was just searching this yd. Thank you for this video. It popped up on my feed 🤙
Your channel is the ABSOLUTE #1 trusted authority on grow lights in my opinion, and this vid just proves it! You give me hard, verified DATA... No hype, BS, or skewed opinions... I really appreciate the work you do. If all UA-camrs were as honest and thorough as you, UA-cam would be a better place! Any grower who ISNT subscribed to this channel... is doing themself a disservice...
I'm still using 4-Vivaspectra PS1500's (the original green ones) in a 4x4 Tent. One towards each corner, so they're equally apart from each other, giving a pretty equal canopy, all around.
They were well built, and are still running great. I think around 3-4 years old now. Got them together, as there was a big sale on them. Nice lights!👍💯✌️
Have you able to divulge 3:20 how many oz of chillis 🙊🙉🙈 you are able to yield with this set up on average
Don't know how that blue 320 popped in
After your test of the Viparspectra XS 1500, I bought 2. They work excellent together in my 2X4 tent.
Same here. The only thing I don't like is that they can't be turned completely off.
@pursaveer9027 how would that be possible ? If there is no power to the light, it's completely off. I would bet
@@BK-pc6ov They cannot be turned completely off. The switch does not have an off position. I prefer to be able to turn a light off, rather than having to unplug it when it's not in use.
$5 timer bro

God Bless your company Shane 🙏 hope life is lovely 💯
Upgraded my Viparspectra P600 to a XS1500 Pro last year when it was on sale. Great little light.
Can confirm the viparspectra xs1500 pro is one amazing little light. I am finishing up a grow right now and it has definitely performed like something with more watts and size to it.
THANKS SHANE FOR ANOTHER HONEST REVIEW SIR. VERY INTERESTING AS ALWAYS 🌱💚🇬🇧✌🏼🤩
Always great info 🤘🤘
Thanks Buddy 🙏
Great information. Thanks Shane.
One hundred thousand subscribers congrats anything is possible.
I used the six led light bulbs you suggested previously mostly to see if it would fly tbh .struggled with the loop 🤭 so I bought individual clip bayonets bonus is I can move them around individually and target the sides etc In a 2x2 triangle for veg unbelievable results mate I been watching for ages wasn’t until I read some comments on that video that I discovered you had your own lights for sale so I’ll be getting one of yours for flowering THANKS 🙏 day 21 and another six bulbs could be added 👌
Great stuff as usual
I am using Array 2 in a 60x60 tent.
I think it's better that the temperature changes less than other tent lights.
It is also very well bred.
I plan to buy more for other tents
You look more st-ned on your regular channel than you did on the channel you were actually st-ned on 🤣🤣 It was rad seeing you on From The Stash. Great info as always, sir!!
My ac infinity s44 developed yellow burn marks on the board, got an exchange, sold it and bought the migro aray 5x5 + uvb, So happy 😁
This is the first person that wants to sell (me) a product that i can fully endorse.
Not only is he openly telling you that there are products that can potentially outperform his lamps.
His website is clean af and he tells you every single metric you could ever ask for AND how he measures them.
For me the purchase price of the aray 2 was way lower than the viper spectra. And 125W is perfect for my planed budget veg tent.
Thanks for the great info amazing videos it's nice to hear somebody so intelligent break it down for the layman like me I run a lawn care business I'm a pretty good grower but like I'm a professional when it comes to the turf care growing is a hobby fun hobby and it's nice to see another professional doing their thing helping us all understand this stuff I just bought two of the Vizio son and I was looking at the viper Spectra 150 Yes looking like I should have bought two of those efficiency on that's just incredible I don't care if it gets hot I'll find a way to cool it down that's what fans are for Thanks again man incredible glad I found your channel shout out to the DGC that's where I found you..
I use the vipar ps1500 in my 2x2 seed/veg tent. Works terrific for my needs and for the price, you can’t beat that performance. I have not run it during a flower stage so can’t speak about any heat issues as I keep mine around 500 par range.
I got the VIVOSUN and I am very happy with the features. The Grohub Controller works great. A perfect system.
I have 3 of the Vipar spectra xs1500 pro.
They run little hot for my liking. But for the price. And for me being a beginner. It's great.
I use two in my Mars hydro 2x4 tent for flower and 1 in my vivosun 2x4 for Veg.
I'm going to try growing taller plants this next time so I can have the lights in the flower tent closer to the top of the Mars hydro.
Haven't tried any other light. Because imo for uniformity, price I'll take the heat
I have the Vipar Spectra XS1500 & typically use it just in the early stages but do really like it. Can confirm it does get warm!
How much does it affect the temperature in the tent? Especially in Summer?
Not even noticeable because in summer it’s already so hot, it’s not that it heats up the tent much but more so the LED’s themselves are hotter maybe reducing there life span. It’s an incredible light especially for under $100
I'm using the Viparspectra XS1500 pro and it's definitely the best light I've ever used. It's so bright that its nearly blinding at 100% power.
I actually just bought the viparspectra light you show here. I find it to be really warm on 100% getting up to about 90f and giving off a hum at 100%. All other settings on the dimmer works great, the plants love it. So I'm gonna be using this one for seedlings and early veg only.
Excellent content cheers, I'm going offgrid soon and I'm going to downsize my 1m x 1m tent. I have an A520 'beast' drawing 180w on full tilt. I think it should do.
Awesome comparison.
Thanks you so much!
Just grabbed one of those gro planners to supplement my early spring veg on the deck. Ip65 is crazy for a quantum board!
Never see HLG reviews on your channel. Great lights. HLG RSpec 100 is a great light for a 2x2. Keep the reviews coming!
There are 5 x HLG grow lights tested and reviewed on the channel. Unfortunately the HLG 100 was the old model so I did not include it
Hey love all your videos. I have two vipar spectra 1500 pro in a 3 by 3. I love them get great coverage. Almost get same yeild has my mars fce 4800. Really great lights. I got them on sale for 85 a piece. You cant beat 300 wats for 170 with thqt kind of coverage
I got the vipraspectra xs1500 pro after seeing the review you done, its wicked in my tent but I got a maxibright daylight 200w with it , my homebox tent is 4x4
Good setup 👌Does the XS1500 run hot?
@@MIGROLIGHT not to much no I like using it but I needed more so used the maxibright that I already had👍
Many thanks for your research work and sharing it live with all. I would request you try growing Ginger on Hydro farming vs soil . I looked around could not get comparative analysis like you do. Please consider this request on ginger.
Thank you for this! Very informative!
Is the new hanging height of 22cm now recommended for veg and flower? It used to be 16cm for Aray 2. Thanks!
Bought 2 of the Visparspectra xs1500 Pro (the 2023 version with Meanwell Driver and Samsung LMB301B LEDs) just because of your tests/PPFD measurements :) and DrMJCoco reviews. Thanks for your great work!
Lm281b not lm301b on the xs1500 pro versions from 2023
The Viparspectra is a lot more expensive in Germany. Since I like enthusiast products and find your videos very helpful, I have ordered the Aray 2 today.
I bought 2 Viparsoectra XS1500 pro led lights. I got them off Amazon for $85.00. It’s my first LED after HPS for decades so I haven’t anything to compare too. I had a disaster with my DWC system or I would have already have a complete grow with the lights. I have a 32”x32” tent. In the old days it was all about watts. Now it all about par value & efficiency. With HPS you didn’t even consider efficiency. You gust paid big electricity bills. Now, a grow in a 2’x2’ with 150 watts blows my mind. Thanks Shane for your honesty & the great information & test. You really helped me to decide my setup. Plus being an Irish American, Ireland is a big deal to me. I plan on buying an Aray when I get a bigger tent next year.
$85 ? £199 in the UK can't be right more than double
@@serval_fpv It was because of a coupon that it was discounted of the current cost. It may have been $89 or $90. It was such a great deal I bought the 2nd when I saw it was on sale. So far light has been great.
@@dannyc6166 yup just read others mention it had a look on US site right now $109 crazy prices in Europe !
@serval_fpv in Germany its 235-250€.. sucks😅
Wow I’m surprised the prices in Europe are so much higher. Oh well, at least you have free healthcare!!!!!👍
Good one everyone, like always Shane released one more banger. Love his grow lights and hopefully MIGRO will continue to give us the pleasure and quality for many years to come. Would you kindly think on doing a best seedling to veg for smaller areas with or less then 2*2...? I would love to see who's are the best grow lights in that range... Kindest regards to everyone. Peace and ❤
Migro aray 2 is where it’s at
Another great light with awesome uniformity.
👍 would love a review of the omega infinity 3.0 if you could get your hands on one. Cheers
Cool looks good for someone starting off or a little grow yeah I like the one with fan in middle be good for air movement but it not strong light
love my migro!
well i already got my 5x5 fl;owering tent set up but i see the migro aray is cheapest light for electric costs and would work great in my 2x2 vegging tent, thanks for the vid brother
I bought the viparspectra after watching your review. For around $85 it’s hard to beat.
It really bugs me how here in Germany we have to pay 250$(USD!!!). Just frustrating
@@DaennyZeppeli199£ In UK 😢
I have the spiderfarmer se-3000 in a 28"x28"x62" tent and it killing it
I'm using 2 150 Watt hlg patriots in my small tent. The old one with qb288 board. Very similar system efficiency to your aray 2. Was torn between the two but got a really good deal on hlg's.
Its a great light💪
personally I would put the migro above viparspectra because the bar style lights dont interfere with circulation as much as panels do.
some decent value lights available either way
I use a Viparspectra P600 2023 and it's great
After speaking with shane and finding out brexit has caused problems for the consumer in the uk, i do believe shanes are up tjere with the top 5 lights.thanks shane for talking with me i appreciate all you do thankyou
I had been using Growealth G1500 and recently got a Viparspectra XS 1500 Pro based on your review. Will soon be doing a side-by-side test on various veggies seedlings. The only thing I can say now is the Viparspectra puts out a ton of light for its size.
Post the results. I have the G1500 and G3000 (both with the UV and IR systems standard) and they are great. Want some more.
Should post some results man I have been trying to decide between these exact two.
I use Viparspectra xs 1500 pro and since it runs a lil warmer it helps temps stay @ 78 to 82 which is perfect! Started in a 2*2. They are great for keeping close to your tops as well at lower power at the tippy top of the tent
Came here just to mention that model, it's a beast. Love the uniformity as well.
I pair this xs 1500 feature with a California light works 275 solar system and controller inside a 3x3…. killer ppfd numbers… wayy more than enough! Insanely nice set up without breaking the bank I say… other than CLW’s price on their spectrum /grow light controllers… that shits ridiculous pricey!
Hello, im interested, what is the temperature in the Grow Room? I fear that in Summer, it would be too Hot inside the tent because of this light. I dont have an air conditioner. Greetings
Ok, ive owned alot of these lights... my one issue with your reviews is you fail to review them one year into usage. The bestva didnt make it 3 months. The groplanner needed to be replaced after 7 months. The sincere, i got a year out of it and the diodes started to dim, needs a new driver. The mars hydro ive had for 2 years, its still running strong. I own other vipar products that are years old and are still 100% effective. If the build wuality is comparable...
I got the growealth 1500 and still going strong 2years later
would be nice to see the Greenception GCX 4 PWR in that range too
Hey Shane, I have a couple viparsspectra 150pro and I know covers over leds can dull intensity. I would never touch the great outer lenses but I wonder what if I took off the middle shield? I'm guessing if it DOES happen to help it would just make a hot spot and throw off the even spread? What are your thoughts? 😊
What do you think about Feit's new full spectrum grow lights?
I have 3 XS2500 PROs which seems like 2 XS1500 PROs slapped together. Bought them based on your article ranking 4x2 lights. Its disappointing that I never see anyone really talking about the XS2500 PRO. But they work great, run nice and cool. I have 1 in a 2x4 and 2 in a 4x4. If you ever get around to talking about this light in a video that would be a welcome review.
Yes its 2 x XS1500 Pro connected together. The PAR map will be same x 2
Isn't XS2500 250watt? 2 XS1500 watt would be 300.
@@MIGROLIGHT I tested out the 4x4 configuration and it works pretty good. Vivarspectra's got some par maps up and they comport pretty close to what my UNI-T/PPFD meter app combo was putting out.
I want to see a review of the phlizon 1000
need a light for cloner n veg for a 4x8 tent was goin to use viparspectra any thoughts?
@MIGRO?
got the xs1500 for under 80$ and the sincere 100w for 40$ usd. they had the 60w panels for sale for 15$ a few months back
@MIGRO I see on AMAZON the VIPARSPECTRA XS 2500 which is two of the XS 1500 units. do you think this would also be very good for for a 2 x 4 tent?
Thank you for your time.
hey good video! can you pls!!!!! do a California lightworks bar style LED fixture review?? thank you!!!!!!!!
Where would been the Mars Hydro FC E 1500 (non EVO, the cheaper version) in the list and would u recommend it?
Xs pro 1500 ftw in my opinion! Cheers mate 🫡
Can anyone comment on the heat-topic with the ViparSpectra 2023 Lens Design XS1500 Pro ?
Would love to know.
The Vivosun is kinda puzzling to me...
Not sure if you really wanna blow the air downwards instead of up. (goin against the general airflow)
Is't fair to not see spider farmer in this list, atleist review of new SF 1000 sf evo Will be nice Shane 😢
Mirgo number one in the most important categories: efficiency, running cost and beauty
Is szhlux a good light brand
At UK pricing, the Aray 2 is the clear pick. Sadly senelux has upped their pricing, meaning they're much lower on the list than they would've been. Worth noting UK electricity is a lot more expensive so efficiency is even more important.
I'm very surprised that so many think the 1500xs runs hot, mine is one of the cooler running lights I own.
P2500 is in my 2x2.5 and it’s a monster
Your not using the new ac infinity light. I wanna see that one. That model of the ac light you are using it their older model.
I need to know a good budget led for a 3x3 I was thinking a sf2000 idk I got two lil 100w WZDragons and a sf1000 in it ATM to make 300 watt par in range SF at 80%
Where is your lights made?
Im using a growealth 4800 in my 4x4 and it does great in the middle of the canopy but it doesn't reach the corners very well.
Never did like using just one light in the middle.
Viparspectra XS1500 pro. -99$ and thing is built like a tank. Really covers the space perfectly .,
Hey, I really appreciate your work, thanks for this video. The Viparspectra xs1500pro costs about 230$ where I live. Would you still think that this lamp would be a viable option for my 60x60cm setup? I've just bought it but it feels like a big mistake, considering it can be bought for like 70 bucks in the US. Do you think that 200 bucks are reasonable for this lamp? Thank you again
its the reason i didnt get it for 229 euro... way overpriced. Its a good light but... its 60% cheaper overseas. There are better deals for that kind of money. Its only 150W and doesnt even use Samsung diodes / meanwell driver. I ended up getting a FD-4500 6 bar light with 4x the diode count for similar price (!)
New spiderfarmer 150w light?
I give it a thumbs up and write a comment. But the bad thing is that all the lights were tested at different heights.
He explained this. He tested them at the height that the manufacturer suggests.
AC Infinity EVO4 with detachable driver. Fits 2x2. Highest efficiency.
Have MarsHydro FC3000 evo is a 2.3x2.3.
two thumbs up
This shows that it is worth investing more money in better lighting. Pro Emit Performance line, Sanlight or Hortione starts with 2.7 ppf/watt - 3.0 / ppf/watt. Calculated over 3 years, you save money with the expensive models because you pay even less electricity than with the cheaper lamps.
Bravo The LED Buccaneer is back! 🫶🏻
Interesting how the new Samsung evo led´s would compare to these lights.
One more LED lamp is missing here PERFAND CB , made in Poland , will beat them all 😂
My current ts1000 lights are 3 years old. How long is the lifespan of effeciency for grow lights? They run a bit hot so wondering if upgrading is the move.
Yeah your at the end of the light span. Might go until 7 years though. All depends on how many runs really😊 it gets dimmer over time as I've noticed. Or I think so
reading the comments, viparspectra owes you a beer
Whatever happen to the new AC Infinity ionframe Evo grow light PAR test and review??
They haven't sent one to me for testing yet
@@MIGROLIGHT yet? If they haven't already, I don't think they're going to...they released them like 8 months ago...that sucks man
Isn't that the light all the AC Infinity "sponsors" have been showing/testing..?! I think that's the light everyone got around the same time..?!
I'm not even positive about any of them doing actual testing. More of a presentation, usually.
From the results of their fixture reviewed here, several months ago in a full video, and low on this list for efficiency, maybe AC Infinity didn't want to risk being low on his list again..?!
Really looks like a great fixture, and has Samsung's latest Diodes. Maybe not enough Diodes to give a high efficiency? I'll have to re check those other clips I've seen on it. Maybe I'll find a clue..?!
Forgive my rambling, please. I'm still in shock AC Infinity didn't send one for Shane to test! 😳🤔🧐👍💯✌️
Mars FC4000> AC EVO3
Aloha & a question for Dr. Bugbee. The fee for his first set of USU Cannabis edu. was around $1,000. the second series of lectures was $500. Now the students who paid in the past get an email it will be $1500 for the third in the series. I was wondering what new info he has that is worth almost half of my monthly disabled veterans pension??
I think Mr Bugbee is cashing up for retirement?
Please excuse my ignorance, can somone explain why the lights would be hung at different heights if we want an apples to apples coomparison ?
Some of the lights hung at 16" are more powerful than the migro at 8.5" but apparently its more efficient. I'm confused.
You want to have an even light distribution across the surface. Some lights need to be hung higher to achieve this (i.e. they are more focused), some can be hung lower. In the end what matters is how much light reaches the surface when evenly distributed and how much electricity is used to achieve this.
Generally, I would prefer lower hanging lights (as long as they don’t run too hot), because it gives you more room for your grow in a height-limited tent.
daaamn they adjusted the price of the sf1000 i was wondering hos is it not here... was looking to buy it beginning of jan... at 119$ on sale on their site.... the 2024 lm 301h evo modell as well.... FUG ME, i should have gotten 2... now they 169$ -.- FFFFF MEEE
