Honestly, everytime I thought about starting a UA-cam Channel, you've dropped either on the same day or the same week a video about UA-cam. It is not a coincidence anymore and I am tired of thinking... Time to start my journey. Thank you Ali
I stopped producing UA-cam videos after my son was born. I did find time besides my fulltime job by treating UA-cam as a normal hobby. People find time to go to the gym or play video games. So just use this time for UA-cam. Having a child makes this process a lot harder. I just can't do it anymore without dismissing other hobbies I have to relax. What I've learned doing my videos, I hate the filming part the most. Mostly because I didn't have fixed setup and had to set up lights, cameras, tune in the settings and everything from scratch every single time. Editing and scripting was a lot of fun and I miss this part. But the actual filming act was never fun. My advide, find a way to have "ready to go" setup to record your videos. Making the barrier to start recording as small as possible is key to stay motivated. At least that's how I see it.
You are my go-to for UA-cam tips and the biggest reason my little channel exists. Starting new channel can be really tough if you don't plan everything ahead. I knew I couldn't afford to waste months trying to get noticed by just a handful of people. Instead of spending months to get few hundred subscribers, I found how to get organic growth immediately (by using a bit of Fame-ster of course). Well, after watching over 100.000 UA-cam videos and really contemplating if I have anything of value to say this video really pushed me to try and start, so I posted my first video talking exactly on how to find value in watching a lot of UA-cam. Full circle, I know 😂😂 The thing that I love here is that you are always realistic with the results. A lot of times when I watch other people they are always like how to get 100k views on first video, get monetized in 3 days, and so on... It is a journey, but If you find out that you love the process than, what is there to lose ?? I certainly find it extremely satisfying and fun to try and create good videos with ton of value.
It is a process. Just focus on daily incremental progress for the videos in however time you have. 2 hours per day, 1 hour, 5 minutes... Just focus on creating in that time.
In my case I started as a way to make money but I stayed for the process and now that I understand how it all works it's just so much more satisfying to create content then before. For example I noticed that most creators this year focus on editing their videos with a lot of transition's, B-roll footage, images, music, etc... And all to make their videos easier to watch and understand. So basically trying to keep viewers from getting bored 🥱 and skipping your videos. Even this video if you watch it from that angle you can see that he is mixing talking head scenes with images, and B-roll shots..... It's very interesting to me!

Been sitting around for years to start my UA-cam channel & finally said "you know what, just freaken do it" I'm never gunna be FULLY ready but I'm excited to learn as I go 🤩 Thank you for your encouraging videos Ali!
Great video! I learned a lot from this video. The main idea is to do something you’re truly passionate about. I saw a video of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates together answering questions from other people, and someone brought something along the lines of if being passionate about a business is important. And Steve Jobs answered whatever it is that you’re wanting to make a business out of it, you absolutely have to be passionate about it. If you’re not, you’ll eventually quit. You’ll eventually burn out and your body will give up.
You released this video very timely! I started my own channel, and the work began to dramatically strengthen its presence. I'm tired, I'm going to shoot a new video and here's your gift). Thank you very much! 🙏
You are an inspiration Ali! You are honest, you are hardworking, you love sharing knowledge and you are a great story teller. In the see of shady influencers spreading lies to make money, you have hold on to being your authentic self. Best of luck and keep inspiring millions of people like me who believe that an honest approach to sharing knowledge can still succeed against all the shady ones out there. In case I succeed in this genuine influencer journey ever, will definitely meet you in person someday to thank you. If I failed, at least I tried 😎
Hi everyone, I work full time, have an etsy shop on top of my full time and I also do UA-cam. I love everything I do so it makes it easier to put in the time at my job, etsy and UA-cam. When I do UA-cam videos is my “relaxing time”. I don’t worry about views, subs etc. If you want to put your time on UA-cam make sure it’s bringing you happiness 🤗😘
Hey friends! Honestly, how are us smaller channels supposed to get anywhere when the big ones are boosting themselves with things like sem rush and social plus? It’s tough seeing all that effort go unnoticed. Wishing you all the best of luck! 😊
Everyday there are new creators making waves and making big money. There will be creators who aren't even born yet who will make themselves millionaires. Look for the possibilities and the opportunities.
I started following Ali last year because I came across a video of him talking about starting a website. I was kinda lost at that time, and i was trying to find something that I can look forward to in doing and so i decided that I wanted to write (blogging) and start my own website. I started to post on Quora instead since it is one of the platforms that Ali recommended lol along with Medium and others. My 3rd post on that platform went viral and that gave me a realization that if I can make something go viral then what if I try my luck with youtube? I created my UA-cam channel in January this year and started posting videos. It wasn't until the second half of the year that I began to see (I guess) some traction on my channel. Thank you so much Ali for your videos. You are such a gem and I always look forward to your videos because I learn so much from you and love your voice too! Keep helping others because I know you will continue to touch many lives with your work. :))
I was just doing one video a week for several months around After Effects tutorials. Over a period a time, I found that my output goal took precedence to where I felt that my tutorials weren't as strong as they once were. The lesson I learned from this is to identify a niche and work on that specifically to grow. I had a handful of videos do well over Vox-style editing. My focus going forward will most likely be in that realm since my other tutorials around different editing styles weren't as impactful.
Thanks Ali. To be honest, I finish the financial free video first then coming here haha. Again, appreciate all your efforts and videos, and I just finish the FASTLANE book this week. I know that deep in my heart, I will start my business sooner or later. That gave a very clear guidelines where to get started. I'm planning to open a YT channel and film most of the process on how I build my business, from ground to hopefully millions. I'm not planning to make any money out of the channel. No matter my business success or not, I hope it can help people who want to start and get a real idea how it will be. The channel will also be my documentary for my 1 year old. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge and all the best!
i don't know why Ali's video just showed up in my feed but i needed this insight today. I've been putting off starting a channel for several reasons: so many others are so successful, i will never succeed, i don't have the motivation to start it up, etc... but its not about the outcome and the money at first. its about the purpose. the meaning of what i can bring as a source of value to the world. So, thanks Ali :)
Can't believe I finally started my channel, to share things I love: my PhD studying life, fitness & workout, and also healthy diet. Good luck to everyone who has also started their channel!
Thanks so much, Ali. This video came at the perfect time for me. I'm about to start my final year of medical school, where I'll be doing my social service, and I wanted to hear from someone who's managed to balance their UA-cam channel and work. I create UA-cam videos about physiology, and what you said really resonated with me. When I started on UA-cam, I never thought I could make money doing what I love-teaching. I just knew my way of explaining things with animated illustrations could help a lot of people, and it shouldn't just sit on my computer or be seen by only a few at my school. I believed in myself and my talent, and I went for it. It's amazing to see that UA-cam rewards you for that

This video is GOLD! Thank you so much, Ali, for the much muchhhhh needed advice and for literally breaking down the hours for so many of us who just can't seem to understand how to this UA-cam thing, despite quite desperately wanted to do it.
I'm also a healthcare practitioner, working full time on the NHS while trying to "jump start" my channel and it's hard, but not inpossible. I guess the name of the game is: consistency, good content and time. But it's nice to see that's possible if you commit yourself, even when juggling a full time job.
VERY encouraging! I’ve slacked with my channel as I felt overwhelmed with what “people” suggested for me. I lost my love for it and got overwhelmed. I make videos because I love the camera and I love teaching. This is the reminder I needed to get back at it! Almost at 1000 subscribers. I can be in the 2.5% soon! 😜
Embarrassingly, I've been thinking about starting a YT channel for over 5 years now, and I keep putting it off. I've watched so many videos like this (including multiples of yours) and purchased the PTYA course. I'm starting to really internalize these lessons which I've seen over and over, and it makes the idea of actually starting less daunting. I feel silly for having squandered several years where I had lots of time to put into making videos. I'm about to start law school, so the timing isn't as ideal, but better now than waiting another 5 years. Thanks for continuing to make these videos with valuable, straight-forward lessons for getting started, especially as a busy person.
Não precisa esperar para começar, muita gente acharia interessante vlogs do seu cotidiano na faculdade de Direito. Eu também adiei por anos a idéia de ter um canal, mas decidi que esse ano seria o ano!
tbh this is one of the best videos I’ve seen in a while! I’m always searching for videos like this, to have an idea how to really manage yt while working fulltime. great vid!
This was very useful. I think my current struggle is justifying the cost to hire an editor bc I’m full time student with part time minimum wage job, albeit in a high income city so my wage is higher but that means my cost of living is higher. Anyway, this was useful to look at a more realistic pov of what it takes to start a channel from scratch. I’ve had my channel for nearly 6 years but started posting consistently again. Super useful for time management especially once school starts again. Thanks sm. I totally plan on taking that $1 course😄
I like this video a lot. Tons of information, one thing I particularly like is that you just don’t give general advice, but try to do as if you were starting and go through the whole thought process out loud. That was great
I launched my UA-cam channel this year while working a full-time job. It's challenging, but having a solid system truly makes a difference! Very nice video 💪
UA-cam is the LEAST passive thing on the planet. You work literally every single minute of the waking day thinking about thumbnail strategy, script writing, better hooks, storytelling, lighting, better audio, crafting better titles. I started a youtube channel because I LOVE crafting videos. After 2 years of working 70 hours per week….I’m finally making a small income. I absolutely love it.
Hope all the new creators get to 1000 subs as soon as possible ! I never thought I would even get this far and now I’m almost there ! Don’t give up guys
Thank you for this video. I have been trying for 6 years, and it has been a journey. my biggest challenge has been finding a niche, and so I think if you can find the niche, you are already on the path. This process is the next step. some people are good at finding a niche I for some reason want to talk to everyone.
I love this video - I watched so many of your UA-cam Videos and it really helped and inspired m to start my own channel. Im a 23 Year Old Interior Design Student and decided to start a YT Channel on explaining why and how great Interior Designs work and break them down for others. xx Jane
Thanks Ali! Also recently started a UA-cam channel. It is great to talk about your interests and learn skills along the way. Hopefully this potentially helps at least one person in the world. Best, Anthonie
Thanks a lot Ali for this video! I'm a video-podcaster also having a UA-cam channel and at the same time working full time. I've done this same explanation you did in the video multiple times when people ask me how I deal with having a full time job and still create regular content. The most common question is always is if I have hobbies at all or a life besides podcasting and working😂 Which I absolutely do, I play Futsal, do Improv theatre, go out with friends, have a girlfriend... But I also have ambition, enjoy doing this and most importantly I have processes and consistency in place which allows me to not lose my mind 🧠
I have been contemplating to pen down my process of streamlining UA-cam videos but wasn't actively working on it, and then THIS VIDEO came up on my homepage which has actually done my work for me. Thanks for this.
Hi toubaseher I can save your time & I can grow your channel very fast because I am a professional video editor and graphic designer. If anyone wants to get video editing or thumbnail design done from me then comment me.
Another UA-camr with a full-time day job here! I'm probably not your target audience since I have a slow, not-focused-on-productivity approach to creative stuff, but this was an interesting watch (first video of yours that I've seen, funnily enough). The one thing that irks me is the idea of outsourcing one's editing as soon as possible - editing is my favourite part of creating a UA-cam video, I'd never give it away! The most rewarding thing about my journey as a UA-camr (my channel has been up for more than five years now) is seeing how much I've improved and continue to improve with my editing, so I like to spend all the time I need on it while making videos. Then again I have that luxury since UA-cam is a hobby for me, I don't need to make money from it and my sense of accomplishment and self-worth are not tied to how well my videos are doing. (also wow, you talk fast - a medical doctor thing maybe?)
25:13 Yes, I will still do it even though I would never make money from it. I started my channel as many, to make money, but after almost 2 years now and getting over 600 subs (I was not consistent in posting)... the comments from viewers, in many cases thanking me for the videos, sharing their experiences... it is just so nice feeling that at this point I want to keep doing this even if doesn't make money at all. UA-cam is beautiful, really changes your life, for good.
it's very nice to hear from you Ali. I drew a chart and allocated the tasks and the time I had to complete them with an immediate goal of 1 video per week. Let's see what I will have after 3 months. Thank you very much!. I hope one day I can talk to you.
Absolutely loved this video, Ali! Your insights on balancing a full-time job with UA-cam are incredibly helpful. I appreciate how you break down the goal-setting process and emphasize the importance of input goals. It's inspiring to see how you grew your channel while managing a demanding career. Excited to check out your 7-day crash course! Keep up the amazing work! 🚀
@@MissJourdy it’s incredibly hard to achieve that and have proper content at the same time. I’ve been trying the vlaugust (vlog everyday in August) thing … and it’s gruesome! When 8h of the day are spent at the office, there’s little time left to be creative 😞
I work 11 hours at my corporate job each day while trying to grow a UA-cam channel. I share your experience that editing is the most time consuming part but so far I'm hesitant to outsource my editing. You've inspired my to give it a try. Thanks Ali.
Hi DanielToller I can save your time because I am a professional video editor and graphic designer. If anyone wants to get video editing or thumbnail design done from me then comment me.
This is so helpful. I work full time 10p-6a, homeschool full time and can spend 1 hour a day to get started. I’m so drained doing two things full time.
Great timing for this video. Was looking for something like this haha. Also, the points and methods shown in this video were insightful, and inspiring and answered a lot of my questions. Thank you for your amazing work as always.
ALways insightful content, and well simplified for all. I actually built my current channel while working full time and just quite my job last week. If anyone has questions, though I am not as big as Ali, I am open to help in any way.. What I can say is that the hours poured into this mission is well worth it!
Some great points in this video - I would say however that most want to start making UA-cam videos for both an interest and money - the two don’t need to be mutually exclusive. With regards to outsourcing editing … this makes sense to help speed up the journey but it’s still a significant cost for many and I think what you learn yourself can’t be over looked - particularly even if you outsource editing in the longer term … it still gives you better knowledge to then be able to converse with more experienced video editors than of you had never tried to do it yourself. I would much prefer to have some level of knowledge on what I was discussing with someone - even just for peace of mind
Interesting! I started UA-cam last year and have reached nearly 50K. But this August want to take it more seriously! Travel vlogs, business interviews and tech trends talking - it’s a difficult one figuring out the scheduling and editing for sure … but many videos have said to stay yourself and enjoy the process!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us :) I am getting started on my hiking video venture on YT and this video really inspired me! To all those reading, keep it up!
He should (I'm my opinion) start with showing most interesting / important case studies of the cases he deals in a week. He may take a few pictures of the cases and randomly then and there records his emotions or points . This way he can produce original content and we all love originality at the end. It will also unburden him in terms of sitting down and finding stories. That's what came to my mind and compelled me to write here.
I just published my 9th video an hour ago and got only around 30 views in spite of sharing it with a million people I know. I was just wondering what if it doesn't work, but then I asked myself ' Why did I even start this? ' ... Definitely not for a million views or money. Creating content on UA-cam is making me happy. Finally, I feel I have something to work on. I am developing a sense of respect for myself. I'm proud I am able to do it so easily without much effort and there is atleast a small group of people who genuinely support me and it makes me feel it's all worth it. It's not always about money, it's about doing what makes you happy.❤
I recently started my channel, and my videos don't get many views. My shorts got more view. But I'm staying strong and optimistic that 1 day it will grow.

Been sitting around for years to start my UA-cam channel & finally said "you know what, just freaken do it" I'm never gunna be FULLY ready but I'm excited to learn as I go 🤩
Thank you for your encouraging videos Ali!
That is me too. Sometimes it is not a coincidence but rather destiny screaming at you
You are an inspiration Ali!
Great comment :)
Good luck with your channel!
We all are trying to make it
Hey friends!
We r in it together😊
I just made a YT channel I’m hoping it grows! Baby steps 👶
Great
Man, u had vision, u took as many footages working as doctor as possible!
Hint for many aspiring people :-)
Thanks man! I got it 💜
Sometimes the vision finds you
Ever considered his whole channel might be staged?
@@projectb3117 no, I followed the path and found good results with UA-cam - although never too any course from him.
@@projectb3117yeah
I was just doing one video a week for several months around After Effects tutorials. Over a period a time, I found that my output goal took precedence to where I felt that my tutorials weren't as strong as they once were.
The lesson I learned from this is to identify a niche and work on that specifically to grow. I had a handful of videos do well over Vox-style editing. My focus going forward will most likely be in that realm since my other tutorials around different editing styles weren't as impactful.
I have quite my job to become a full time UA-camr. I have passion for it so much. Thanks for this video! 🙏
I started my channel to simply document my life and use it like my personal video journal. We're growing slowly but surely ❤
It's amazing to see that UA-cam rewards you for that
Hi drdanielrodriguez I can save your time & I can grow your channel very fast because I am a professional video editor and graphic designer. If anyone wants to get video editing or thumbnail design done from me then comment me.
Thank you! I've been editing my own videos for 4 years.... although I'm slowing getting better, I never thought to outsource the editing!
hopefully we can all become successful youtubers one day ❤🎉
This video is GOLD!
Your next video should be teaching us how you learned to flip that marker around your thumb!!! Looks pretty cool!
Best,
Anthonie
Im new to Ali's Channel. This is really something different than the other videos i see. Makes me boost my drive on my little youtube channel 😁
That pen flip at 3:09 is so satisfying 👌🏾
Thank you for pointing that out, can confirm very satisfying indeed
😁😁
It's cool
Thanks a lot Ali for this video! I'm a video-podcaster also having a UA-cam channel and at the same time working full time. I've done this same explanation you did in the video multiple times when people ask me how I deal with having a full time job and still create regular content. The most common question is always is if I have hobbies at all or a life besides podcasting and working😂 Which I absolutely do, I play Futsal, do Improv theatre, go out with friends, have a girlfriend... But I also have ambition, enjoy doing this and most importantly I have processes and consistency in place which allows me to not lose my mind 🧠
Doing a full time job and just posted my first UA-cam video. Thank you for this video! Love how this video found me ❤
I like that you've started with vision and purpose. It's the key to sticking to your goals! I do the same for helping people improve their health
Watching Ali's videos feels like meditating. You come out of it calm and composed
This is why I follow you, Ali. I started youtube because I wanted an outlet for my hobby (photo, video, editing)
Best title given, clear and to the point, thank you brother
Sooo good! Thank you! I feel so seen. I was exhausted trying to figure this out. UA-cam felt like a second job
For people like you, perhaps the idea is to become the editor for others... For those wanting a YT career, that is.
I hope one day I can talk to you.
you have no idea how uswful this video was for me, thank you so much!!!
It's a hard slog growing a channel but if you keep it at you will reap the rewards. Good luck content creators.
Thank you for the insight as I am trying to build this channel and new to this whole process.
Thank you, Ali. I'm super new to all of this, but I'm enjoying it so much!
Ali, this has been incredibly helpful. Writing it down made everything much clearer. Thanks for breaking it down for me.
"Great, I needed this video, and it has been quite helpful to me. Thanks Ali"
Such a brilliant video. So well articulated and carefully explained. Extremely valuable, thank you Ali.
I love how Ali have a video on every thing I'm struggling with
i'd love to see a version of this as a vlogger with a full-time job (instead of a subject expert)!
yes yes yes PLEASE
Me toooo :)
@@MissJourdy it’s incredibly hard to achieve that and have proper content at the same time. I’ve been trying the vlaugust (vlog everyday in August) thing … and it’s gruesome! When 8h of the day are spent at the office, there’s little time left to be creative 😞
Started on this journey 3 months back and will continue to do so.. thank you for all the motivation and awesome tips!
Me too. I started a little less than three months ago. ❤
Really love this approach to explaining the steps Ali 🙏🏻
Just followed you thank you for giving a real example of how to create and realistic time for a UA-cam
Just started posting on UA-cam over a month, thank you for this ❤
Congratulations 🎉Shabeena I see your work🤎🤎
This video just blessed me more than you know! Thank you
Thank you so much for starting your youtube channel ❤
Some great points in this video - I would say however that most want to start making UA-cam videos for both an interest and money - the two don’t need to be mutually exclusive.
With regards to outsourcing editing … this makes sense to help speed up the journey but it’s still a significant cost for many and I think what you learn yourself can’t be over looked - particularly even if you outsource editing in the longer term … it still gives you better knowledge to then be able to converse with more experienced video editors than of you had never tried to do it yourself. I would much prefer to have some level of knowledge on what I was discussing with someone - even just for peace of mind
What an amazing title. Definitely professional grade 🙏🏾
I started this channel almost 3 weeks ago and while the growth is painfully slow, I've been enjoying creating content. I do hope it picks up though!
New to youtube. This was very helpful. Thank you Ali! Goodluck to us all!
Thank you so much for making this, this brought so so much value to me! 🙏🥰
Watching this while at my full time job... we are a little slow today haha. I hope that all of your UA-cam channels grow and succeed!!
Your delivery is so good that I didn’t realize I was at the end already. Great stuff Ali
This is the video I needed to see! Instant subscribe 🙌🏻
I love the honest, straightforward answers. Can you do a video on outsourcing/delegation?
Everything happens in due time, patiently waiting for my opportunity 🙌🏽
Great tips Ali! Most of us are working full time and building something. It's a marathon, not a sprint 🤘
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us :) I am getting started on my hiking video venture on YT and this video really inspired me! To all those reading, keep it up!
I definitely will
Batch filming is a superpower - as well as batch scripting and batch editing if you can't outsource these yet.
Exatamente. Gravar o próprio cotidiano dele e monetizar seria um ótimo jeito de alimentar o canal do youtube.
It's not always about money, it's about doing what makes you happy.❤
this feels like I could have written this comment
I recently started my channel, and my videos don't get many views. My shorts got more view. But I'm staying strong and optimistic that 1 day it will grow.
