GREAT INTERVIEW SKILLS! Ali is one of the best interviewers I’ve seen. He really listens, asks very short questions, asks insightful follow up questions, and does not make it about himself. Too many interviewers on UA-cam ask long-winded questions that really are more about themselves than about the interview subject. Thankfully, Ali does not do that. Wonderful interview. Of course it helps that interview guest is absolutely fantastic and incredibly impressive. This video should be mandatory viewing for every business school and entrepreneurship class. Top notch! THANK YOU!

I have been working for nearly 30 years and I took 1 year to volunteer at a very small start up of a solopreneur. It's changed my whole life. I learnt more in a year than I learnt in 30 years in a job I realised that I wasted 30 years of my life in cooperate and education. Young people need to know this

Wow, 30 years in the corporate world just to realize a solopreneur startup is like the Matrix’s red pill! But hey, if you hadn’t spent those years grinding away, you might have never appreciated the breakthrough. Maybe it’s not about 'wasting' 30 years, but about training for that one year. 🤷‍♂ As for young people? Guess we gotta stop telling them to get degrees and start handing out startup kits instead. 🙃

There are lots of mixed opinions about stocks and there projection in the next coming years, I aim for short term solid gains from market correction and I'd definitely jump on the boat if I knew a thing or two about day-trading, but then again what do I really know? I'm just looking for the right moves to grow and hedge my stagnant reserve of $370k from inflation.

Yeah, more reason I enjoy my day to day market decisions is that i'm being guided by a portfolio-coach, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time, both employing profit-oriented strategy and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downtrends, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis, it's quite impossible not to outperform. Netted over $1.5m in return on investment, since using a coach 2years and counting.

I've shuffled through investment coaches and yes, they can be positively impactful to an individual's portfolio, but do your due diligence to find a coach with grit, one that withstood the 08' crash. For me, '' Pamela Kay Regel'' turned out to be better and smarter than all the advisors I ever worked with till date, I’ve never met anyone with as much conviction.

Just a important quote (at least I think so ha) --- "The school system teaches us to be component labour... most people end up as a component in a larger system. When we freelance we are selling ourselves as component labour to someone who has a bigger outcome in mind but we are just doing that adhoc. The trick about being an entrepeneur is to seperate from the mindset of being component labour and be outcome focused ; what is the customer trying to get done, why are they buying this, what is the outcome for them, radical empathy with the customer"
"The better option is to have expertise so that you know how to organise other people's labour. You want to as quick as possible avoid being a component in someone else' system and... be someone who stands for an outcome and someone who stands as expert in either talking about that outcome, selling that outcome, overseeing that outcome, putting together teams that know about that outcome etc."

I understand how you feel. It's a little bit difficult to navigate things these days. You don't wanna lose whatever is left. Also, the fact your business failed doesn't mean you should give up.

That's right. I have tried many failed businesses and it's just a step further. Don't despair. In the US, a perfect storm is about to hit. Factors such as inflation, bank failure, severe drought in the farming region, recession, scarcity of food, shortages of heating oil and diesel fuel, scarcity of baby formula, scarcity and high cost of living in a vehicle. Everything is starting to come together, and by the end of the year, or maybe sooner, there could be a true catastrophe. My main issue, given the current 6% inflation rate, is how to make the most of my $300k retirement fund, which has been lying unused for a very long time with little to no growth.

Great podcast. Daniel is amazing. It takes a very good host, like Ali, to keep up with someone as smart as Daniel, and get him to share so many profound ideas.
Also, it’s surprising how sales, marketing, and business can teach us so much about ourselves, and humanity. I really liked 1:14:29 “The curious person wins, not the most qualified.” This is a great idea and a good way to deal with anxiety. Fear is what makes us get stuck in life. But curiosity can get us moving. It can get us going, and keep us going. Curiosity makes you a leader.

I was a stay at Home mom with no money in my IRA or any savings of my own, which was scary at 53 years of age. Three years ago I got a part time job and save everything I make. After 3 years, I am 56 yo and have put $9,000 in an IRA and $40,000 in my portfolio with CFA, Evelyn Infurna. Since the goal of getting a job was to invest for retirement and NOT up my lifestyle, I was able to scale this quickly to $150,000. If I can do this in a year, anyone can.

These men who have the luxury to spend 11 - 15 hours working a day literally would NOT be able to build these big companies if there wasn’t someone else picking up their slack and taking care of all the rest of their needs for them. They don’t have to buy the groceries, plan and cook their meals, do their laundry, clean their house, run the errands, take the car in for maintenance, nurture the relationships with the friends and relatives, etc. And that’s even if there are no children involved.
As a single person, I would be so incredibly grateful to have someone doing all that for me so I could get to just work on my business all day long. What a fantastic deal to get to play while some else does all the chores and other stuff so you don’t have to! The people who impress me are the ones who succeed in building their business while also running a home and maintaining their other relationships. THAT’S an amazing feat!
