But you´ve gotta see the chance in that. If this feeling grows and grows it´ll maybe one day (hehe) give you enough energy to change things. Try to imagine yourself 5, 10, 15 years ahead if you dont make a change at all. Let that vision haunt you. If you manage to feel desire instead of resentment, you can do it.
Yeah lockdown is doing weird things to my motivation 😅 the panic monster is always lurking because I don't have a job at the moment to at least give me that end of day satisfaction. So gotta keep changing things up to stay sane 💁♂️😂
A big tip I can pay forward to fellow procrastinators: the first step I always do is promise myself I WILL NOT work on whatever my task is that day and ONLY do all preparation for it without actually starting work. This means I get everything I need ready, opening up tabs that I need to get the job done and planning out exactly what needs to be done to get it finished. Usually when I have it all laid out in front of me like that suddenly the task looks very small and manageable - and i then owe it to myself to complete on the task. This trick alone eliminates about 70% of my procrastination times. Kudos to Michael Kennedy's Success Method for this "mind trick" which works for me at least, I am working on the other mind hacks /gamifying to get my doctorate finished up

@Anifco67 Sorry, i'll have to disagree with it. When you are a procrastinator, you are kind of perfectionist. Your mind wants certain, specific set up before it feels comfortable to do it. Also, one little discomfort in your task, can push you away from it, and it might take you months or years to come back to it. It's real, it happens.

everyone’s talking about procrastinating while watching this and even though i am, i just realized i’ve had this in my watch tomorrow playlist for almost two years and this is the first time i’m watching it💀
I watched this TED talk about 5 years ago and it had quite an impact on me as it actually motivated me to get up and get to work on things that I put off for way too long. And I will start doing this immediately tomorrow.
I think many procrastinators also have an "all or nothing" type of mindset. We also analyze things and come to the conclusion that there are so many options of what we can do right now and in the near future that we end up not doing anything at all.
Several of my friends wait until an hour before something is due and then just grind until they finish it. It only takes and hour if you have only an hour 😅
Freshman year: " I did my homework at like 11 last night" Sophomore year: "I did my homework the morning of" Junior year: "I did my homework before class" Senior year: "I did my homework during class and then told my teacher I just found it"
A master procrastinator will achieve his life goal when he/she is 90 years old. Well a potentially better way of looking at it would be that you can die any moment. You aren't sure you can live to 90 years old, so if you want to achieve your dream, do it now. Although alternatively, you can use the same logic to enjoy your 'last moments.'
I got thru life with the panic monster. Then I retired and had no deadlines. I have been a sail boat without any wind for four years. Thank you for the chart of how many weeks are in a 90 year life. I now have a new deadline and I’m in full panic mode.

Oh I jumped right on it thinking I might get some tips on how to overcome it. But I'm old, ADD, and bipolar. I'm thinking I'm losing my memory. Like, sadly forgot how to make a sandwich. I was just stumped. Did I put the lettuce or tomatoes first. Got it wrong. But discovered the tomatoes move around less if you put the tomatoes on top. So I've clearly hit on something!!!!! Ohhh
That spitting felt like vomiting.😂 Whatever he said embarrassed me but I have started to see animals on my shoulder now 😂. I am going to get better because I have to. We all have to. All the best everyone. 👍
i’ve had this on my watch later for years
Hey can we share some lotion?
that is procrastination
Lol smh
omg same and I finally watched it now😂
oh- i see what you did
Was assigned to watch this for school (college). Oh my gosh, this guy is SOOOOO ME!!!!!! I haven’t finished watching yet, but I am getting such a kick out of everything he’s saying! I can so relate. It’s always comforting to hear someone who understands. The struggle is REAL!!!!! Grateful for this video.
Why do you only have one like
"Gonna do some work at 3.00 PM"
*Sees clock at 3.02*
"W00t, I overshot it, let's do it at 4"
*Sees clock at 4.05*
"Oh... I'll do it at 5 then"
*Sees clock at 5.01*
"Bugger....."
This is so true.
I'll have to wait until 6 then......
Usman Saadat i can confirm. As a truck driver i want to follow my schedule. If im early ill do other things than i need to and if im late, even a minute im starving. I cant think of what the goal was then or where i was actually going untill i got it back on schedule or i forgave it. But its really hard
£Wow} Tis be Ta TRUTH SO!
BUT T'Ending Here is Too DEp...... £;)💂👸

Lmao
It's y is all hand drawn
I know you're trying to be funny but this is unrealistic since he had a whole presentation and he'd have to set things up with TED.
@@rehenayesmin6126 ik ur trying to get likes from people who hopefully share the same party pooper mentality as you but what's the point in pointing out a flaw in the joke that everyone here is clearly aware of? O frick
I attended a course just over a month ago where I spoke about my procrastination habits and the trainer recommended this video to me.
So naturally here I am watching it at 1am the morning of the follow up course.

bruuhhhh
there’s actually something like that called executive dysfunction
I watched this TED talk about 5 years ago and it had quite an impact on me as it actually motivated me to get up and get to work on things that I put off for way too long. And I will start doing this immediately tomorrow.
Not even kidding, I added this to my watch later.

@@Claudiosoaress That's your rationalization mind trying to justify letting the monkey take the wheel.
exactly
Love the way,he explains about procrastination. And yes am listening while procrastinating on my assignments.
I think many procrastinators also have an "all or nothing" type of mindset. We also analyze things and come to the conclusion that there are so many options of what we can do right now and in the near future that we end up not doing anything at all.
Indeed , there are so many things that we want to do but also can do that you only think about it but dont take the steps to do them.
Paralysis by analysis
You just literally helped me discover who I am lol thank you

Sophomore year: "I did my homework the morning of"
Junior year: "I did my homework before class"
Senior year: "I did my homework during class and then told my teacher I just found it"
The irony is, by watching this, I’m procrastinating.
His solution to ending procrastination is by showing us that we're all going to die soon so we do have a dead-line.
bad plan, since we all will wait till the last box ..
I smoked dmt and have seen that there is life after death. No need to worry.
@@seanthemoneymagnet2158 what was it like
And it didn't change me at all lol
A master procrastinator will achieve his life goal when he/she is 90 years old.
Well a potentially better way of looking at it would be that you can die any moment. You aren't sure you can live to 90 years old, so if you want to achieve your dream, do it now. Although alternatively, you can use the same logic to enjoy your 'last moments.'
I got thru life with the panic monster. Then I retired and had no deadlines. I have been a sail boat without any wind for four years. Thank you for the chart of how many weeks are in a 90 year life. I now have a new deadline and I’m in full panic mode.
