Heads up! If you are interested in learning more about a specific part or swap I have done to the truck, I have listed a whole bunch of related videos in the description. Thanks for watching and subscribing guys, means alot to us :)
I love the build of this truck... I can't wait to start doing mods to my 4runner! Right now I'm just doing all maintenance with mostly factory oem parts, but soon. Your channel is inspiring. Thank you!
Gotta start somewhere, I did the same at the start, fixing neglect, and all the little stuff, and then I just started going at the big mods.. Also drawing inspiration from the internet! Thank you for watching.
The headache rack looks fine from my point of view at least but I do construction/handy man type work so I would keep the what you have. Enjoyed the video. 👍keep em coming...
That is exactly why I got it in first place, it was really handy for moving wood, etc. Plus the bed sides are not very tall in the Pickups, so this kind of makes up for it.
Love your channel bud, I'm driving an '89 SR5 on Vancouver Island. Still running the 3.0L with over 600000 km. I fully plan on swapping to a 3.4 when the 3vze dies. Love the build, hope to see more in the future.
Thank you very much! Good luck killing the 3.0! Mine was at 425xxx and I was intentionally neglecting it knowing I had a 3.4 ready to drop in. Would not die, I ended up pulling it still being a strong runner because I wanted to get the swap done already.. Haha
Hey! Square tube driveshaft is mint. Gets shaky at about 50-60kph, but I'm never going that fast in 4x4, only notice it when I forget to shift back into 2 high on gravel roads between trails.
I've always wanted to do the supercharger on the 3.4 but watching your other videos you have inspired me to go 1uz instead, probably be about the same cost maybe even less and I won't have to run premium fuel
Hey, thank you! I have been changing my style of editing and filming alot lately. You can really see it if you compare the original vehicle overview I referenced in this video.
Where are you based out of? The fractal bumper and fiberglass fenders are both companies from British Columbia so I'm just interested if you're close by
I would like you opinion on an upgrade. Hi, I really appreciate your channel as it's all geared towards yotas. I have a 87 reg cab. It's got a nice functional lift, running 33X12.5's. Anyway, I want to put lockers in. What do you think about Eaton 3rd and ox for front? Would that even work?
Hello! I would put the Eaton up front, ASSUMING your talking about a Air or E-Locker. Selectable is best left for the front. The rear you can get away with using a OX or any other lunchbox locker.
You got a nice truck. I am getting ready to start rebuilding a 91 that I bought for my son when he turned 16 he is now 27 and drives it every day. It's ready for a rebuild.
Thank you very much! That is awesome, good luck on the rebuild, that will be a fun project! I daily drove this Pickup for years, but now it's used for wheeling more less.
I had a 93 2wd extra cab with a manual transmission and 22-RE that I put a Lockright in and the most aggressive snow tires I could find on. Everything else was stock. I dropped a few jaws by being the only 2wd among all the 4wd's at a lot of party's back in the woods and farm fields.
Got the same truck. Without the supercharger and mine now has the rock assault axles. Love your truck to man. Check my couple vids of the rubicon and Moab to.
Aussie Hilux fan here, I have the same extra cab UTE but stock 22re, good build bro. My other 2003 LUX has a 1KZ-te I don’t think you guys have the Diesel engine, best engine ever conceived,
@@goatsgarage2252 Rear has a Lock Right locker, they are a automatic locker. Really it's cheap and all you'll ever need in the rear. My truck was a factory 3.0, so V6 thirds.
Best of both worlds with the 3.4 in there. The 1989-1995 Toyota pickup is worlds better than the 1st gen Tacoma when you remove the engine from the equation. Much heavier duty frame [Fully boxed with internal gussets] and better overall build quality.
@@Red_Beard_Builds Hey Zach, what did you mean by duals? With that referance; I'm thinking exhaust or lockers... However if you mean a dually rear-end, then your super crazy sick! I'm eliminating lockers, because of the SAS conversion. Another thing; I'm still new to all this, but I love it! Thank you in advance... Please let me know. 👍 BTW... Happy Holidays! 🎄🎇🎆

How does the square tube driveshaft do at higher speeds? Not that you're in 4x4 on the highway, but any balance issues above crawling speeds?

@@DirtGarage Thanks, I always wondered about running one!
Btw this is a great idea for a video and I'm totally gonna do one for my truck... So thanks in advance 😀🍻
@@6thGearGarage Ha! Your welcome. Looking forward to it 😁
Sweet front spring hanger, I wanted to do the same thing on my truck when I did my SAS.
Thanks man! My truck originally had the standard mounting for it when I did the swap, but when I went 37s I wanted lower.
I've always wanted to do the supercharger on the 3.4 but watching your other videos you have inspired me to go 1uz instead, probably be about the same cost maybe even less and I won't have to run premium fuel
Another good video, editing was on point for a vehicle review 👌 good job man, see ya on the trails soon

Nothing but respect for custom builds like this 🔥
Sweet truck man, no need for clear coat, love the raw and rigid look
Where did you find the 2in body lift?
Great video man! Smooth all the way through, and an awesome truck!
Thank you!
That’s a sweet truck, gotta love Toyota’s.

Stock birfields deal with that power and 37s?
So far yup! And with locker.

That is awesome!! Those lockers work fantastic.
Woow, could only dream of this build. For now I will be contempt with my 93 running.
One part at a time 😁
What type of front bumper did you say that was?
Hey, its a Fractal bumper. You can find them on Instagram @fractalfabs
Got the same truck. Without the supercharger and mine now has the rock assault axles. Love your truck to man. Check my couple vids of the rubicon and Moab to.
Wicked! I don't have the coin for rock assault axles yet, but that sounds awesome. Will do.

My other 2003 LUX has a 1KZ-te I don’t think you guys have the Diesel engine, best engine ever conceived,
Wicked! Thank you. We have not had diesel Toyota engines since the 80s unfortunately.
Have you looked into going to a fj80 front diff to give you a high pinion for more ground clearance?
I have. but I'm totally happy with the Pickup front.
I wish more people did use the fj80 axle there would be alot more 1st gen Toyotas left to play with
Is the e locker up front from the rear of a a 00-04 Tacoma or 4 runner??
Yes! I have a complete install video including wiring on the channel 😁
@@DirtGarage I scoped it out just never said that it was a rear e locker from one of those years! Just use the elocker gasket as a guide!!👍👍
@@goatsgarage2252 Perfect!
@@DirtGarage did u do the same on rear? Or just use the full tacoma axel housing ? Was ur truck factory 3.o?

Love the channel man. Is that front bumper homemade, it looks really nice.
Thank you! Bumper is actual a Fractal bumper. Look up Fractalfabs on insta and let him know I sent you!
@@DirtGarage thanks man, keep up the great content.
@@yjsuck Thank you! I will for sure!
Hey man did you go with a 3.0 trans and tcase to run the Toyota front axle?
Yup! R150. Soon to be duals, but using 4 cyl cases obviously.
Will a 4cyl case bolt to the r150? Also would like to see you do the dual cases
Sick truck man
Thank you very much 😁
nice truck were you get the supercharged
Thank you, supercharger came from Kijiji.
Awesome build man!
Thank you!

100% agree. I love the body style way more, better frame, they just need the 3.4.
Absolutely love it.
Thank you!!
Nice!! Put some 5.29s
Lifted, lowered, body lift?
Engine clearance.
I dig your building.
Crawl box? Bead locks? on the wish list?
Crawl box 100%, bead locks aren't road legal 😂
@@DirtGarage have a look at Hutchinson DOT beadlocks. I have them on my 4Runner but be forewarned: they are heavy!
New to your channel only a week or so The truck is AWESOME great job wish I had you skills
Welcome aboard!
Thats a very nice looking truck.
Thank you!
I’m in for more wheeling content
I would so love to have a solid axle on the front of my 1990.
Beast!!!
Thank you!
We have the same dream
It needs a manik brush guard and a winch.
It has a bush bumper, and a winch?
Old man eemoo
Awesome
Thanks!
Ahh i drive a 92 pickup i want to make this shit beast too’!!! Teach me
Its a sick rig! but it needs duals to be a dream truck :D i really like it man.
Haha that is still coming soon. I promise!
Dirt Garage I’m hoping I can get dual set up in my 84 3.4 swap I’m planning , seems like a lot to figure out but gonna be worth it
Even as it is she is my dream truck, I used to think I just wanted 3" lift and 33s 😂😂

scubbarookie dual trans cases, makes your crawl gearing super low, gives your truck a ton more torque , look up some videos it’s insane.
It’s not pronounced ‘Eemoo’ it’s pronounced ‘Eemyoo’ ! Take it from me, I’ve been an Aussie all my life. 🤣😂👍🏻🇦🇺
Stop playing sir tell us where that jacket came from thank you thank you ?
Jacket came from Alpine Toyota, my local dealership 👍
*hasn't watched video yet*
Me: that better have at least the 3.4 in it!!
You know it! Supercharged :)
Your dream truck is on leafs? 🤨
Very different since this video, as still on leafs. Leafs work, but obviously there is better options.
Get a 6cyl diesel under the hood. Bolt on a turbo & intercooler, you’ll get better mileage and a longer life out of the motor.
Toyotas have not come with diesels in Canada since the early 80s! The supercharged 3.4 is amazing though.
All that.work.and still.slow. a full-size chevy or ford is faster bone stock. You should of did a Jz supra swap.
All that work and it's perfect. It's not supposed to go fast! It's a crawler, on Toyota axles.
A Supra swap is more expensive and it’s a rock crawler it doesn’t need to go 100+ miles an hour
