Keep in mind all the prices I talk about in this video are CAD, not USD. I mentioned the truck was $1800, that's $1364 USD at time of writing. And total of $2500 to get it to where it currently sits, that's $1895 USD!

That's crazy! I paid $2000 usd for a stock rusty 1993 single cab. But it had a 22re which was a plus until it blew a headgasket.

Agreed. I’m tired of seeing channels moding new $80K trucks. Even if I won the lottery, I’d still enjoy building older relatively cheap vehicles. I’d do a lot of engine swaps in older trucks.
For instance I’d like to put a 2JZ-GTE Supra motor in a 1st generation Tacoma. Put a RB26DETT Skyline engine in a old Nissan Pickup.
Oh and of course I’d want a Mitsubishi Mighty Max pickup with a 4B11T Evo engine.
I’d also do some diesel conversions. Like a a Duramax in an old square body Chevy. Diesel swap some midsize trucks with maybe a TDI.
You get the picture. They can keep their Ferraris and Lamborghinis. I’d stick to cheaper more interesting builds.
The most expensive new vehicle I’d want would be the big G-Wagon AMG G63 squared that comes with portal axles. Lotus Elise. Hell maybe even a Audi R8.
Actually I would want a new Porsche 911 Turbo. That’s the most super car I’d go.

Love it. I need to solid axle my 4runner already. I keep getting quoted like $6-8k for a solid axle swap. I even hit up some UA-camrs like FabRats with no luck. I would do it myself but I keep having surgery after surgery. I had spine surgery in 2019, a rod put in my foot last month and shoulder surgery next week. The toyota build is on hold for my human body rebuild lol

  • @SOLDADITO76

My solid axle build actually stared a 1k. I bought and 84’ truck and just built on the 84’ chassis. Now looks like a short wheel base 94’ extended cab. Did have to lift the body some, so all together 6” lift all together. If I was to add everything together from start to finish with lockers, gears, EFI, cab and bed, interior, wiring, and my own paint job. I would say I’m at less than 5k, when I build some bumpers and put in some trail goodies then I’ll be past that mark for sure.

Eh, overall its still a good deal. With the Toyota market around here, hard to find anything, even super rotten for under 2K. We were also talking CAD, so just over $1300USD

@@DirtGarage I see, I didn't realize you meant CAD. I also failed to consider the straight axle driving the price up, at least it would here in Oregon. • @DirtGarage
      @DirtGarage  4 роки тому +2

    • @sammycookie8

Derrick Thomas this is incorrect. As those shims are used to adjust caster. But negative caster is the exact opposite of what you want.

Alignment has alot to do with death wobble as well as worn out part

    • @DirtGarage

costed is a real word but it's not being used properly here... however I watched another video from a Canadian who said "costed" about a zillion times, so I think it might be a Canadian thing

funny how every redneck that comes along and throws a solid axle under the front of these trucks pats himself on the back and thinks they're doing the world a favor. Sure....billions of dollars in research and development, state of the art testing facilities, countless hours invested by professional JAPANESE engineers at Toyota but somehow they got it all wrong and billybob is here to fix it! 😂😂😂
