Crawler Walkaround and Snow Wheeling Adventure! Built Toyota Pickup and IFS 4Runner

- We take the Toyota's up to the snow and explore the Bald Mountain OHV trail near Shaver Lake, California. I have done this trail dozens of times, but never in the snow. Without recovery gear, we decided to turn around before one of us got stuck without a way out. The 4runner was not running great, and was having transmission issues. Nevertheless, it was a fun day of wheeling and can't wait to get back out there and explore!

@@RM_Garage I have a brand new set of front and rear axles to swap in just sitting in my garage. G2 D44's, 4.88 gears with 30 spline chromoly shafts and Detroit Truetracs. I need to buy the rear disc brake conversion kit, SYE, Tom Woods driveshaft and adjustable arms to finish it up. I am running a 4" lift, flat fenders and 35" Mickey Thompson MTZ's right now. Time and money... lol

Clean rig brotha! Can’t go wrong with tried and trued 22re! I 3rz swapped mine and never looking back! Lol so much more torque and power! Keep it In mind if the 22re ever flakes out.. lol (which I doubt)
My only complaint is this thing is the slowest vehicle perhaps on Earth. I have a 3RZ runner too, it definitely runs much harder than the 22re :D

How does it do steering on the trails without hydro assist on 37s? I notice everyone tends to go hydro assist once they go to 37s-40s
It did fine for me. I have a landcruiser now on 38s with no hydro either. It does fine. I do plan to go hydro assist though
Quick question wanted to know where you got the vent breather fitting for your rear diff, I saw you ran a hose up to the frame?
It’s ran up above my rear upper shock mount and zip tied to it. Since I have that low range offroad mount that goes between the frame rails, it was a really easy part to anchor it to

I sold this truck and started building a Land Cruiser, but it was probably 75. I never took it much past 65.

It doesn’t at all! It drives exactly the same as it did before.

4” front and rear. If I had to do it again I would maybe go with Deaver springs in the rear and link the front. That’s what I’ll be doing on the new 4Runner project.
@@RM_Garage thanks! I'm wanting to do a SAS on my 94 and trying to decide what leaf pack to run. Debating the 3"or 4" I can't decide. I plan on jist running 35s but I may get the itch for 37s

What did you do for a front driveline
Had it custom made. Gave the driveshaft shop my IFS driveshaft and told them to use the CV and make it with thicker wall for rock crawling.
