The Champion Subclass instead of the Spore Druid would have been better here, since you can't surprise Ansur (you can, his surprise system is just a bit weird, if you attack him with a ranged attack), he's resistant to necrotic damage and you are bound to lose your Temporary HP anyway. But I was too lazy to respec. :)
great job! and yeah with ony 2 lvls into fighter for the action surge ill be perfect, and champion for the -1 on critical hits, you can sacrfice 1 lvl into rogue since youre not sneak attacking ansur
@@gstack9652 In Tactician yes, but in Honor Mode you can't surprise him for some reason, even though he doesn't have the Alert or Perfect Sentry ability.
@@SleepingDog. You can surprise him in honour mode. I did it on accident but I went forgot I had my party ungrouped so all my other companions were in the back by the entrance. Ansur moved up by the entrance and I proceed to get stomped. I left then i came back but he was still by the entrance. I was able to use a invisibility potions to sneak behind him and surprise him.
it never occurred to me, the idea of just straight up leaving the arena when ansur does the supernova attack. Every player plays this game so differently and I'm always surprised to see new ways
So, when I did this, with lighting resistance potions and magic ring, he blew through the crystals and did around 90 damage on the first nova. The retaliation lightning did a lot of damage and critical hits on several players. Not sure what you did differently here to not get damaged.
It does negate any dmg entirely. But if you plan to use this when you are fighting Ansur, only cast it when he's charging for his Stormheart Nova attack, otherwise he will knock you prone with his Slam attack and therefore break your concentration.
I'm not using it immediately, because critical hits can't miss. And the reaction popup shows me if I'm going to hit or not, so I can simply wait until the popup tells me that I will miss my attack and then I can turn this attack into a critical hit to avoid missing (3:49). It also will show you when you hit a natural crit by putting a "(Critical Hit)" at the end, so you don't have to use the reaction there either.
With all due respect to the time you've put in to get to this point in the game in Honor Mode there seems to be no "Honor" in this fight to me. Starting with the trick with going to camp to get distance and first hit and ending with the fact that there is no risk of actual death since there actually is a whole party safe somewhere. Doesn't seem much different from an OTK with a backpack full of explosive barrels.
Well this is not a solo run, just a solo build showcase combined with a simple strategy to beat him. I played this run at the end of last year when I didn't had enough time to do a "real" video, but I can understand if this is not what you came here to see. Anyway, if you want to see a challenge, watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/kU1BBP8dp7U/v-deo.html

you can surprise him, you have to be behind him while crouching

@@gstack9652 Hmm interesting. I wonder why I'm unable to surprise him than in Honor Mode (no matter the approach). 🤔

The first time I fought Ansur his supernova was bugged and killed through the crystals and my response was to hide behind the big door for the attack
@@GMtheTurtleit was BUGGED?! I legitimately thought I was missing something during this fight so I decided to tank through the supernovas
Monster Hunter mindset lol
I used the globe spell, but my jaw dropped when I learned that you can hide behind the crystals
I always dashed to the door and completely ignored the crystals. Love learning new tricks in this game
Oh I missed this on my first play and second, dang time to go back and do more plays lol
bro did all of that prep for the first turn n still had 540hp to whittle down
Ur getting a like ur build helped me desroy him
very nice build!!!👏👏👏

Paladin solo’s him. He’s undead so divine smite hits like a truck. Globe of invulnerability scrolls to survive his super nova
does the super nova do reduced damage through globe or does it just negate it entirely?
Ye i just kill ansur today solo on my sorcadin lvl 9, i dont3 run and heal

Poor boy didn't desserves death :
Nice job! Its Rogue, not Rouge but a lot of people type that incorrectly 😅
:)
Hardly a battle..
Haters gonna hate. I mean it’s ballsy be decided to take the reactions, that alone is super risky.
Why u're not using executioner? Many players avoid those special actions but I can't understand the reason behind it

I don’t understand the druid dip
I was testing, in tactician the sporedruid subclass is better than champion. I explain here why: ua-cam.com/video/2PamolfvwGY/v-deo.html

That is an honorable playthrough indeed. 10 chains of lightning out of 10)@@SleepingDog.
Leaving people in the camp is lame imo.
