Just starting vid and looking forward to it, but just wanted to say I was surprised seeing this in this year's AGDQ. Game came out relatively recently didn't thing submissions for the game had been put in.
I love how this run was less focused on pure speed, and more of a showcase of all the cool strats used. I feel like that's the perfect way to do a GDQ speedrun.
@@kevinwells9751 @ChronosReturns (the person sitting on the left from our view) has made guides explaining the speedrun in depth. If you're interested, they're really worth a watch!
Turning your companion into a giant bear and flinging them onto bosses for insane bludgeoning damage is exactly what I expected from a speedrun of a DnD based game and I would not have it any other way.
Having played this game for 150 hours, watching this run is like watching a magician. I love how the glitches all use the freedom of the game. It’s a wild, glitchy run but it totally showcases what’s special about BG3.
Amazing run! I appreciate you taking your time to explain what's happening instead of going for a record here, this run is no crazy that the explanations make it so much more enjoyable to watch! I've been thinking about getting into doing this speedrun and having seen this I just might have to!
thanks for having us !! this was genuinely such an honor to be a part of and im so glad mae was finally able to show off the route on the big stage :) heres to many more great GDQs !
Impressive run .This game is so much fun casually but seeing how you can use the mechanic the dev gave you ( + some weird camera angle ) to destroy everything is amazing to watch .The 2 million celebration was really nice to see too . Congrat everyone.
The shenanigans of this run remind me of the shenanigans in Elder Scrolls runs that got me interested in speedruns ten years ago. In other words, I love the hell out of this run.
25:26 My favorite way to dispatch enemies 😅 That's what I did to Cazador. Should have made your evil subterranean lair osha compliant with some handrails.
I love how bid wars can change at a moment's notice. watching previous runs shows "my dude" as the highest winner, but then here comes "tom from myspace" out of NOWHERE
I usually kill last boss (any difficulty) with fireworks (about 21-25 is enough), bought in the city. It is poetic for me, that the city and simple workers defeat it`s biggest enemy themselves. And it is very fast, just buy stuff for 900 one time and you`re ok) Great speedrun. I don`t run games, just try to make things fast and easy, and with no guides or glitches made my honour run in like 2.5 hours, or easy 1 lvl solo mage run (all acts) in 1.5 hours. Great game! so much pleasure to break it by yourself.
You're telling me it took me about 5 tries to kill Kethrac and I could had just turned into a FUCKING large bear and launched myself at him? Jesus Christ I love this game.
I wish I had more time to take in some of these Twitch runs that I can only catch glimpses of when I watch GDQ. I legit clapped at my desk at the end. Brilliant.
"we're gonna put here in a box" as they proceed to set the box on fire and fling it across the map. this run has just convinced me to buy it even more lol
It seems like the dev room is used to store all the assets that can spawn during the game. Which makes sense. Since the Act is loaded when you start the game, you need to put them somewhere if you don't wan them to actually appear in the game until they're supposed to. It's some sort of engine-friendly loading room.
I have never touched anything BG3... But it makes me endlessly happy that the Tutorial level is a nod to my favorite D&D Module: The Expedition to the Barrier Peaks. This is the module that introduced Bulets and Mind Flayers into the lore of Greyhawk, and eventually Forgotten Realms. THAT IS SO RAD
the leader boards for speed runs before this post, and at this time im writing (the day the video went out) have wildly shifted on the “any all acts %“ but it’s nice for a normie like me to be “brought up to speed” and indoctrinated into the methods used; as always with GDQ…another classic for a good cause. :D
17:58 *Spoiler Alert* He gives you a bomb to blow up the Steel Watch Foundry. It's a pretty cool storyline. He runs a secret deep gnome artisan's guild.
I think this is the first lady speedrunner I've ever seen, and I'm not sure if thats a failure on my part or not, but it's good to see more variety. I'm not a speedrunner nor do I follow the community particularly closely; I'm just speaking as an average internet citizen.
Fun Fact for the Ketheric Area, SPOILERS AHEAD The last area in Act 2 "assumes" you fought Ketheric because you can be buddies with him after letting Balthazar take Nightsong and he lets you pray on the altar of the absolute, which puts you in the area down there without fighting his first phase.
AGDQ 2024 is live right now! Tune in to watch at www.twitch.tv/gamesdonequick
I do not have words for how insane it was to be able to do this. Thank you so much for having me. :^)
Very well done really impressive it took me 83 hours to finish the game.
This was one of the best runs I’ve ever seen at a GDQ you crushed it!
You are amazing!

I enjoyed so much your runs! You're amazing Maeeeee!

100%, this run is so full of insane glitches and having it explained makes it so much more fun

It reminds me of the old Div 2 speed run strat with the barrels. Love the continuation since they're both larian games lmao
I love how tomatoangus is now his official family friendly handle.
it's with a silent 'g' though
The "g" is silent...
Bet he regrets using that name now!
@@martinwells5747 never haha
"And now our character is in Orin's inventory"
Gosh, why didn't I think of that
People were screaming every time another 1000 dollars was reached.
thank you! couldn't figure out what they were yellin abou
I was wondering what that was for lol
Thanks
Yeah it was pretty distracting. Thanks for helping understand it.
tht was driving me crazy, Thanks for filling us in.
Mae is so wholesome, i love it when the runners incorporate the people on the couch into their runs.
BLÅHAJ SPOTTED
Her commentating during the run was so funny and entertaining. Havent seen a run this fun in a while 😁
“That’s the funniest shit I’ve ever seen”
18:30 Withers dressed his best for GDQ
somebody didnt remove their mods correctly lmao

The difference is that TES is broken because of bugs just never being fixed while BG3 is broken because the dead want you to do whatever you want
This is the most hyped I have seen AGDQ in a long time!
We love a BLÅHAJ plushie! Great run and very entertaining!
The fact that she was doing all this while talking is INSANE like shes playing two or three games at once
Really likes the run. Impressive yet chill with a lot of explaining and showcasing! Thanks
amazing that the speedrun hinges on bullying shadowheart
This was such an amazing run - really appreciate how entertaining maeee and the other hosts made it.
ah yes, the Bear% category
This is absolutely bonkers, great stream. I love how you're holding a BLAHAJ!!!!!
25:26 My favorite way to dispatch enemies 😅 That's what I did to Cazador. Should have made your evil subterranean lair osha compliant with some handrails.
This might've been the most energetic GDQ announcer I ever listened to
I'm so glad I got to catch this one live! It's such a great run! AGDQ 2024 in general was amazing! Great job everyone!
Me 125+ hours into the game and still not finished can’t figure out what the hell I just watched. What an incredible run!!! 😁
I love how bid wars can change at a moment's notice. watching previous runs shows "my dude" as the highest winner, but then here comes "tom from myspace" out of NOWHERE

I'm so bad at this game, every fight that I get pulled into last almost as long as this whole playthrough. Really awesome run!
28:27 She discovered the Developer Plane 😱
I love watching every run when Mr. Tomatoangus "with a silent g" is on the scene. Also really good run by Mae.
You're telling me it took me about 5 tries to kill Kethrac and I could had just turned into a FUCKING large bear and launched myself at him? Jesus Christ I love this game.
Insane skill to pull it out lol. Congrats to runner and organisers.
been playing the game since release, only managed to finish it today. this run looks so funny and amazing!
I wish I had more time to take in some of these Twitch runs that I can only catch glimpses of when I watch GDQ. I legit clapped at my desk at the end. Brilliant.
Very cool to see everything explained along the way. Grats on the new record during practice too Mae!
This was awesome to watch. Thank you for the runs
Excuse me I have to go talk to Wilthers. I missed the Enlarged Bear Meta
"we're gonna put here in a box" as they proceed to set the box on fire and fling it across the map. this run has just convinced me to buy it even more lol
Amazing, mind blowing how people have figured all this out so fast. Great run. GDQ 4 Life!
Never knew Baldur's Gate took place in Australia, those drop bears were awesome! Great run!!

Thank you so much for this great run and commentary, @maeeeeeee
Such a funny and wholesome segment! Also Tomatoangus also known as Brief Chili is my favourite non-speedrunner

You can find a bullete (the monster if you mean that) in the actual game
This was an amazing run and Mae and the couch crushed it. Special shoutout to TomatoAn*us for asking great questions and leading applause.

I didn't know they called it shadowboxing, but I did catch the any% run a bit ago and found it hilarious.
Well done!
Amazing job 🎉 such a great run and explaining it well
Great run, also awesome to see the 2mil hit
She finished the game quicker than I created my character...
these runs were insane! I never knew about most of this.
12:51 Circle of the Moon ftw! This is the best part! I'm so making a druid party run now!
Awesome seeing angus here!!!
Today I learned BG3 has a dev room. Maeeeeee is amazing!
what an absolute joyride on every possible level.
Honestly, fighting the bosses by dropping a 5000kg Bear on top of their head is exactly what my DnD Group would do.
I'm not a fan of Baldurs gate or DnD but this runner was great and the crowd was HYPE
i like that you can skip individual lines in the cutscenes. thats really cool.
There's even a recap thing, if you're skipping through and feel like you missed something you can see all the previous dialogue.
TomatoAn(g)us with the disposable camera when they hit 2 mil is my favorite moment
6:22 What do you mean what does that accomplish? Weren't you watching? She totally gave Shadowheart what she deserved, lmao.
Tomato is so sharp and supportive
17:58 *Spoiler Alert* He gives you a bomb to blow up the Steel Watch Foundry. It's a pretty cool storyline. He runs a secret deep gnome artisan's guild.
Amazing game, Amazing run, Amazing people!
That was glorious! Wholesome Maee and Anus on the couch too? Epic :D
I saw her do the owlbear jump on KT and now im here to watch the whole thing lol
I can spend over 20 minutes just doing inventory management. Congrats!
I think this is the first lady speedrunner I've ever seen, and I'm not sure if thats a failure on my part or not, but it's good to see more variety. I'm not a speedrunner nor do I follow the community particularly closely; I'm just speaking as an average internet citizen.
26:11 A wonderful moment indeed! Happy that they reached that plateau. 😊
Love the new thumbnails, keep up the great work!
Act 1 over in 4 minutes and 10 seconds. WELL OKAY THEN.
amazing fun and entertaining run :)
I have this video queued up, but refuse to watch it until I've played the game myself xD.
Lol "Tomatoangus" had me fooled for a nanosecond
Fun Fact for the Ketheric Area, SPOILERS AHEAD

Praise be to Blåhaj!
3321 wtf, that's not enough time for me to make my Tav
For reference my 1st playthrough BG3 was in just shy of 215 hours lmao
16:06 She said the thing!
Maeeeeee is a great speed runner I like the commentary here.
shadowbear will never get old lmao
Wait, is this run why "RIP Tom" was trending on Twitter? Because if so that's fucking hilarious.
Having played BG3 I'm astounded at how much is skipped. This is astounding
40:41 For polymorph I'm guessing, based on how Orin works
"Gale has nuclear IBS" omg
shadowheart best girl? Nah, thats Karlach!
300hrs in on my 9th and 10th playthrough now.
Shadowheart's Bogus Journey
Tomatoangus is my favorite speedrunner
This is a horrific travesty against this richly detailed, beautiful game.😝
But it was entertaining and congrats on all the money raised.💰
surprise tomatoanGus cameo
I played it incorrectly. Maybe 100 hours later when I do it again.
jesus i had to stop at the final boss bcuz thats where im at
Withers got that drip
Remember kids: the G is silent!
