If you want real old school hip-hop from them (like as stripped down as it gets--what people would do in their basements back in the day), try '3 MCs & 1 DJ'. Also the video is hilarious.
To your point - its why i stopped listening to rap music - I listened to rap from the late 80s to the mid 90s . It was this feeling of people seeing if they can invent their own genre and/or style of rap. People were figuring out what they could do with the music. But now everybody seems to be working off the same formula which isn't interesting to me
New to the channel, just going back. This album is their best hip hop album. This album is possibly the most important hip hop record ever made. It literally changed sampling law.
This song is a sampling masterpiece. The Dust Brothers put samples from like...i wanna say 28 different songs in this? There's a youtube video breaking it down. There definately needs to be MORE SONGS featuring the cuica!
Everybody uses the same software to create the music in songs now. It started with cutting an pasting the drummer in the early 2000s and now it's done for all the instruments.
awesome reaction video! You are soooo right about the Beastie Boys....they're unique, original, and creative...they play their own instruments and have an unbelievable chemistry with each other which really helps when they're 'jumpin in and out of each other's rhymes'....so refreshing to hear/see artists such as the Beastie Boys really having fun with their music while digging into their musical/lyrical gifts to make music that'll never be duplicated...cool!
This is great! I subscribed because of these new Beastie Boys reactions. I will definitely be sending in donations to help you with this journey. It’s an amazing ride.
"I'm like Sam the butcher bringing Alice the meat" "Like Fred Flintstone driving around with bald feet" Always my favorite. I was a total Brady Bunch & Flintstones kid so when they dropped that rhyme when I was 14, it blew my mind and I loved it.
I've been loving watching your Beastie boys reactions, if you haven't listened to them run the jewels does that interlacing if bars in some of there tracks and is definitely worth reaction.
This one’s so great, and it samples won really amazing songs. You might like the song that the drum intro is taken from, “Funky Snakefoot” by the incredible jazz fusion drummer Alphonse Mouzon
I never really appreciated this song until recently. Seeing the video adds a lot of weight somehow. Love the drumming. Appreciate hearing your perspective. I had to play this cut, with the double subwoofers on, after seeing a reaction to it. Its jumped up to my top three BB tracks.
Can't believe no one has mentioned their big 'breakout' song "Fight For Your Right To Party" yet. That's the track that freaked people out when it was played in bars back in the day. Mind you, I don't really like it, but.... it led me to their first album, and that, well, it changed my life...
@@WILBURNREACTIONS Please try to not start with "Creep". While it was the song that propelled them into the spotlight, it probably is one of the least representative of what Radiohead would sound like in later years. This is a deep rabbit hole. I'd suggest Paranoid Android, How To Disappear Completely, Pyramid Song or anything from their two In the Basement shows. All five members of the band are stellar musicians. Enjoy the ride.

Just the samples they used to make this song. Alphonse Mouzon, Afrika Bambaataa, Car Wash soundtrack (Rose Royce). They always had good taste.
That bassline is filthy

Forgot to mention my favorite Beastie Boys songs:
- Too Many Rappers

You need to hear their "Rhymin' & Stealin' "
The Beasties were, are, and will always be one of the best.
Root Down, The Move, The Limerick File, 3 MC's and 1 DJ, Professor Booty(Diss Song).
Hold it now, hit it is my recommendation.
This song is a masterpiece. And this was just the first song they worked on after leaving Def Jam.

3 MCs and 1 DJ is great, just because Mix Master Mike is crazy good on the ones and twos.... Root Down and Pass the Mic are also great..
"I'm like Sam the butcher bringing Alice the meat"
"Like Fred Flintstone driving around with bald feet"
Always my favorite. I was a total Brady Bunch & Flintstones kid so when they dropped that rhyme when I was 14, it blew my mind and I loved it.
Still one of my BB favorites...

Knew you'd enjoy this one... as a drummer, this is one you have to cover. Always appreciate your content!
Yes!! Love them so much! Check out Get It Together, it features Q-Tip. Sure Shot, So Whatcha Want and for an oldie try The New Style 🎶🎵🔥🔥❤❤

So Sad just SAD...That Rap/HipHop aint like this anymore in present day time....
An LP like Paul’s boutique will probably not be made again, it was groundbreaking.
Great points on the collective flow point. Last band to do it is outkast
PROFESSOR BOOTY.
HIGH PLAINS DRIFTER.
EGG MAN.
INTERGALACTIC (Music video)
masterpiece
Anyone who reacts to the Beastie boys deserves a follow. Beastie Boys are iconic and forever will be. Check out ROOT DOWN! that song is perfection.
this is 1988,89 og's of these beats
Excellent reaction! You may want to check out So Watcha Want or Intergalactic next; both big hits. Deep catalogue of amazing track! ✌

Personally…yuck. So many better songs later on.
Fit in? They were defing hip hop. Paul's boutique is one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time.
Good review.
A lot of people who were into hip hop at the time couldn't get into the B Boys because they actually had a ton of musical talent.
This is back when if I fell off my skateboard I'd be healing in a reasonable amount of time. Gravity is a bitch and age is a mother.
So What’Cha Want is epic, from Check Your Head album. Give it a listen.
Creative
💚💚💚💚💚
you should check out Cypress Hill - "Light Another"
😊👍
Funky!
Man, you gotta try Looking Down the Barrel of a Gun and High Plains Drifter from the same album 💿! ✌🏻✨
dude is sporting hiphop and black music in the background and people still think he's never heard BBoys
Rhyming and Stealing and 3 MCs and 1 DJ are the songs that you should def check out next
Check out Beastie Boys root down. It’s one of my top five
RIP Adam,MCA
A comment for your algo, bro
Watcha Want and Sure Shot to start ?
Afraidability? Dis you invent a word just now?
Please balance out your audio volume with the song. I'm jamming on the song at one volume, and then you start talking and I can hardly hear you.
No disrespect, but how the hell have you done so many reactions without hitting Radiohead?
Love a bunch of Beastie Boys… but… wow.
You’re correct. I gotta get into there inventory
