Agreed. And then, I am the highway. Followed by Temple of the Dog's Hunger Strike With Eddie Vedder. On into Soubdgarden's Black Hole Sun and Fell on Black Days. It'll be like taking a tour of Chris's career in reverse!
Chris Cornell was such a great vocalist! RIP and A Sound Garden song I highly recommend would be "Outshined" and "Fell on Black days" . An early super group would be Temple of the Dog, consisting of Mother Love Bone(who later most members formed Pearl Jam, with Chris! The song "Hunger Strike" is phenomenal. Eddie Vedder and Chris is the ultimate duet/duo! Enjoy!
Fantastic, thanks for reacting to my favourite song and that you really enjoyed Commerford's bass and Morello's guitar. I've always said I think the foundation of music in this song is provided by Wilk's drums and Commerford's bass, with Morello applying the 'sauce' with his guitar (which not only includes those unique electric tones, but also has a nice break in the middle where he's on the acoustic). If you're looking for more Audioslave, I'd recommend 'Show Me How To Live' and 'Cochise'.
Suggested Soundgarden songs: Rusty Cage (which was later covered by Johnny Cash), Spoonman, Mailman, Slaves and Bulldozers, and The Day I Tried to Live. He also fronted Temple of the Dog, another supergroup formed with members of Mother Love Bone who later became Pearl Jam. Great Temple of the Dog songs: everything on their one album, but I particularly love Say Hello to Heaven and Times of Trouble. Fantastic solo work by Chris: live performance of his original song When I’m Down, Seasons, Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart, his live performance of When Hope and Promise Fade, his cover of Led Zeppelin’s Thank You on the Howard Stern Show, and his cover of Billie Jean - not to be believed!
Throat singing I think it is.... Chris Cornell is everything you want in a rock singer ❤ such a treat to listen to 👌and you're in for another treat when you get into Soundgarden too 🙏👍 Like a stone, to be stone dead means to be lifeless as a stone......
Oh yes! Chris Cornell was something beyond special. His solo acoustic pieces are pure magic. And if you haven`t seen them, he does some with his daughter.
Chris Cornell had a 4 octave range and arguably one of the best voices in rock history. Tom Morello has a very unique and brilliant guitar style that often uses feedback as apart of his sound. This band was amazing and just one of the many outfits that Chris was apart of and each are genius!
Like others have said, Chris Cornell incredible vocal showcase start with super group Temple of the Dog. "Say Hello 2 Heaven", "Hunger Strike" are fire. Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam joins Chris on Hunger Strike to make one of best duo vocals on a track you gonna hear. If you wand knock your socks off, pure and more raw example of Chris Cornell's vocal, peep his acoustic cover of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U" which sung famously by Sinéad O'Connor, he performs it on the Howard Stern Show in I believe 2015...it's straight vocal fire 🗣🔥.
You need to do a deep dive into Chris Cornell. One of the best singers ever. He’s got solo projects, Soundgarden, Audioslave, and Temple of The Dog. Amazing stuff!!
Chris also has some AMAZING acoustic songs also... Billie Jean cover, Nothing Compares to You cover, Bob Marley - Redemption Song with Chris' daughter singing with him.
A few 'supergroups' have made major impacts - The Traveling Wilburys were a band that included George Harrison of The Beatles, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan and Jeff Lynne (E.L.O.) and released 2 albums. Hollywood Vampires is a band that includes actor Johnny Depp (guitar) w/ Alice Cooper and guitarist Joe Perry of Aerosmith. Killer Be Killed is a metal band featuring members of Soulfly, Mastodon, Converge and Dillinger Escape Plan. S.O.D. (Stormtroopers Of Death) was an iconic 'crossover' metal band that featured Anthrax's Scott Ian (guitar) & Charlie Benante (drums) w/ Dan Lilker (bass) of Nuclear Assault and Billy Milano (vocals) of M.O.D. Down was a band formed by Pantera vocalist Phil Anselmo w/ Pepper Keenan (guitar) of Corrosion of Conformity, Jimmy Bower (drums) of Eyehategod and Kirk Windstein (guitar) of Crowbar. The Firm was a short-lived band in the 80's featuring Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page (guitar) and Bad Company's Paul Rodgers (vocals) w/ Chris Slade (drums) who would play w/ AC/DC. Whitesnake is the band formed by former Deep Purple singer David Coverdale, and featured quite a few major musicians in various line-ups, including Deep Purple's Jon Lord (keyboards) and Ian Paice (drums)... Vandenberg's guitarist Adrian Vandenberg... guitar icon Steve Vai... Rudy Sarzo (bass) of Quiet Riot... Tommy Aldridge (drums) of Pat Travers Band, Ozzy Osbourne band ... Reb Beach (guitar) of Winger... Doug Aldrich (guitar) from Dio ... John Sykes (guitar) of Thin Lizzy... etc.
Audioslave and Rage Against the Machine both touted that their records had no synthesizers or samples - only guitars, bass, drums and vocals... Tom Morello (guitar) is a master of creating sounds on guitar w/ effects and pedals... Timmy C (bass) and Brad Wilk (drums) are one of the best rhythm sections in rock... Brad Wilk actually played drums on the Black Sabbath album '13'. After vocalist Zack De La Rocha left Rage Against the Machine in 2001... the other 3 members (Morello, Timmy C and Wilk) wanted to carry on w/ a new project and decided to ask Chris Cornell if he wanted to join... Cornell simply said, "No political lyrics." The newly-formed Audioslave released their first album in 2002 and it was a commercial success... the band went on tour and even played Cuba. 2nd album 'Out of exile' (2004) was another platinum hit and Audioslave were headlining tours already. Things got weird making their 3rd album 'Revelations' in 2006... after it was released, the band were hoping to tour, but Chris Cornell abruptly announced that he was leaving the band. Apparently, Cornell wanted to return to making his own solo records. Personally, he had a lot of issues and that didn't come to light for years because he seemed happily married and w/ kids at the time... Rage Against the Machine did reform in 2008 to 2010 for touring... In 2012, Chris Cornell reunited w/ Soundgarden... the band was on tour in 2017 when Cornell unexpectedly took his own life after a concert in Detroit.... Tom Morello said that he was talking to Cornell about doing something w/ Audioslave before he died.
Chris left to pursue solo projects. Zach left Rage. Rage was having trouble finding a replacement until Rueben suggested Chris. In between Soubdgarden and Audioslave, Chris also fronted Temple of the Dog, consisting if several musicians who would later forn Pearl Jam. Eddie Vedder, future front of Pearl jam, provided guest vocals with Temple. Probably their most well known collaberation is Hunger Strike. Its well worth the listen. Soundgarden songs I'd recommend are Fell on Black Days and Black Hole Sun. Another Audioslave song to listen to is I Am The Highway. Chris was undoubtedly an exceptional vocal artist!
What Chris Cornell was saying was that he essentially agreed with you. That he knows plenty of good, moral people, that some religious folk might say they're going to hell because they don't do or believe as they do. And he thought that was BS. The song is about going to the afterlife that is perfect for *you*. In the case of the narrator of the song, he wants to be reunited with his loved one(s).
Me: Oh he's never heard "like a Stone." Oh. OH. I do wonder how the lyrics hit for younger people. The opening chorus has such a specific narrative of roadside motels and the Bible in the nightstand. It's weird to think that might not be a thing someone would pickup on. Also, lighter note: Tom Morello, still breaking everyone's brain with his guitar skills.
If you like beautiful but depressing , you have to see Brother by Matt Corby - the live on triple J version. Best live solo rock performance I think there is, hands down. It’s about his grief & shame after he slept with his best friends partner. Soundgardens most famous song was Black Hole Sun, and that’s just depressing imo
I love your reactions dude, you do your homework and not just listen n move on but go into the what/who/why's Chris.... you think that was awesome, wait til you react to some more with him, including his solo stuff, for example his cover of Nothing compares 2 U at the Sirius XM studios, it's incredible, I'm positive you'll enjoy that too. Other songs with Audioslave, I am the highway, Cochise, Show me how to live , Be yourself, that whole album is pretty great
Cochise. I Am the Highway. Pick any of their songs and you'll find brilliance. Chris Cornell killed himself. Before he died, he gifted us with his soul in song. His bands--Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden, Audioslave--his solo work, his acoustic covers and acoustic versions of his own work--tell a story of a man always at war with his existence, both gifted and cursed. He is and will always be missed.
The Soundgarden rabbit hole is worth it! Nobody can out sing Chris... Freddie Mercury is my favorite front man of all time and is the GOAT, but Chris is in a different lane... No rock vocalist was as versatile as Chris.
🙏 Dear lord, please understand, Chris didn't "know" he was "the man" (your remark at 7:25). He struggled all his life. In 2017, at 52 yrs old after a lifetime of struggling... he killed himself. He literally wrote and sang from his soul. He was simply a messenger from above. Oh and btw, there is NO freaking drum "loop"... This was 2002 and pure ROCK! Just like the greats (Zeppelin etc.), They didn't fake that shit! It was an ACTUAL human being drumming on those drums... NOT a computer. Beautiful and real.... Rest in sweet peace Chris. "No one sings like you anymore".😪❤❤❤
Cornell's death was a blow to music. What an outstanding voice! And I've never been a big fan of his bands. I sincerely suggest you dig a little deeper.
🤘🏻😜🤘🏻 Their song SPOONMAN is just as amazing plus it's about a real man who plays the spoons lol. RIP Chris ❤I'm 100% one of the conspiracy theorist who believes he did Not kill himself. JS❤
My friend, I LITERALLY cried when Chris died. My heart was broken. Him and Chester were legendary. Missed greatly.
Any Chris Cornell acoustic performance ( even this song ) will blow your mind. Dude was a BEAST and will forever be missed RIP to one of the GOATS
Chris is the truth. Beautiful man…beautiful voice…major loss for the world of music.
The Cochise official video should be next. It shows how badass they started off. That was their first single.
My favorite was the performance on the roof in Broadway
He reacted to it. Find it. ❤
Agreed. And then, I am the highway. Followed by Temple of the Dog's Hunger Strike With Eddie Vedder. On into Soubdgarden's Black Hole Sun and Fell on Black Days. It'll be like taking a tour of Chris's career in reverse!
Tom is f’ ing awesome. Chris. Best rock voice ever. Sadly took himself from us. May he have found peace.
Chris Cornell was such a great vocalist! RIP and A Sound Garden song I highly recommend would be "Outshined" and "Fell on Black days" . Totally excellent rock song. As awesome as this vocal performance is by Chris, it only scratches the surface of what he was capable of.
Fantastic, thanks for reacting to my favourite song and that you really enjoyed Commerford's bass and Morello's guitar. You got to explore Chris Cornell--THE VOICE of his generation...with Audioslave, Soundgarden and solo he is a great.

Gotta do his cover of "Nothing Compares to You". Soul crushing vocals with acoustic strings
Oh yes! Chris Cornell was something beyond special. His solo acoustic pieces are pure magic. And if you haven`t seen them, he does some with his daughter.
Your gonna love Soundgarden.

There is a you tube video of his isolated vocals for this track. It's amazing

ROCKFACT.....The video was recorded in the house of JIMI HENDRIX!
I love it when people know that.
@@dillonsronce2583 #1 Hendrix fan here.
Audioslave is my favorite band :)

one of my favorite guitar solos ever also.... very simple, but incredible
GETAWAY CAR is my favorite track.
Tom morello literally created his own style of guitar.
Audioslave and Rage Against the Machine both touted that their records had no synthesizers or samples - only guitars, bass, drums and vocals... Haunting
Chris Cornell from Soundgarden --- Audio
The instrumentalists from Rage Against the Machine --- Slave
👍🏽😎
So true bout Cream man, Bruce was next level, same wit Eric and Ginger

Miss you Chris Cornell. I just looked to see if you have done any STYX. You won't be sorry. Two great lead singers.
One of the best guitar solos to me too. Pedals maybe for the guitar. Great song Grest reaction ❤
Gotta do “Cochise” my brutha…one of the greatest rock screams of all time in that song!
Set it off
I think you're gonna like Soundgarden. Spoonman, Black Hole Sun are good entry points. Great vidéos kudos.

Hypnotic
Great reaction.
Listen to everything sound garden, audio slave, and Chris' solo stuff including his version of "Billie Jean" and "nothing compares to you"...
Me: Oh he's never heard "like a Stone." Oh. OH. I do wonder how the lyrics hit for younger people. The opening chorus has such a specific narrative of roadside motels and the Bible in the nightstand. It's weird to think that might not be a thing someone would pickup on.

Funny you mentioned Led Zeppelin... If Audioslave would've stayed together, their discography would've been FIRE!!!! They never wrote a bad song.
I'm with you on that guitar !!!!
There has never been, nor will there ever be, another Chris Cornell.
Chris is the man!!!❤
I believe this video was shot in one of Jimi Hendrix old houses

"Cochise" with video, no joke!
Soundgarden - Jesus Christ Pose, Outshined, Slaves and Bulldozers, Beyond the Wheel.... Chris blasts like nobody else...

Since we can obviously see Brad playing drums in the video, I believe dude misspoke when he said "loop", and meant "groove" instead.
Cornell's death was a blow to music. What an outstanding voice! And I've never been a big fan of his bands. I sincerely suggest you dig a little deeper.
Cochise by Audioslave rips hard
Even more painful knowing that was his view when he decided to leave this world.
Show Me How To Live; Cochise both are musts!!
😁🤘🇺🇸🙏
GASOLINE.
Jimmy page use the same type of technique with his guitar sound using his hand. I wish I knew what they call the technique.. but...
Welcome to Chris Cornell.
I’m a Rock-Snob…just listen to this! I will continue to try to figure out…how did Nirvana become so popular? SMHH.
Dude, read before the reaction. Plus it is known info. This group is from what 2005???? Chris rocks. !!!!!
BAD COMPANY
He killed himself. Most believe that the act of 'Suicide' automatically commits your soul to eternal damnation.
welcome to the Chris Cornell rabbit hole. SOUNDGARDEN - OUTSHINED
Cochise is the best but u gotta do official video 😊
🤘🏻😜🤘🏻
Their song SPOONMAN is just as amazing plus it's about a real man who plays the spoons lol.
RIP Chris ❤I'm 100% one of the conspiracy theorist who believes he did Not kill himself. JS❤
Hey brother , you like rage again the machine? This is rage with chris Cornell singing , they made some incredible music.
He was a far better singer than John Fogarty ever was.
Cornell was suffering from acute depression. That had a lot to do with the 'go to hell anyway' comment, and eventually drove him to take his own life.
He mumbled but he could sing. Eddie just mumble
Talking about the bible.... past from s
Chris and Prince were 2 very big losses😢
Christians believe there is only one way to heaven. You have to believe jesus died for your sins. nothing else matters. its bs
Helo frimporta here in Brazil mam, respect of me 👍
