MC Hammer was legit. Smart people didn’t mess with him
American werden das nie verstehen!das hat sehr viel mit der Geschichte Europas zu tun!✌🏻
Not bad for a 9 year old. Take a fifties classic song by Screaming Jay Hawkins, arrange the music and then sing like a 40 year old jazz singer. This girl is a gift to us all. Welcome to Angelina's world.
Smokey and the Bandit ... he played Burt Reynolds sidekick. They were funny movies ...
I am sure others have answered already, but the double guitar has two necks. One is a standard 6-string configuration, and the other one is a 12-string. They produce different sounds.
As a Tennessee native who now lives in Texas, this song means a lot to me. This is why TN is the Volunteer State. A couple facts i love about the siege. When Santa Ana asked for their surrender he specifically wanted them to turn in their cannon. The rousing rebel yell that Travis used was "Come and take it" which is reminiscent of Leonidas and the 300 Spartans. The Persians told them to lay down their spears and Leonidas responded with "molon labe"
yeah is a great cover
MC was very popular & funky, the sad part is there were too many hangers on taking advantage of his good heart & bank accounts 😢 Back in this time there were clubs & dancing everywhere, people were into health did jazzercize to keep in shape so they could dance & dance all night. James Brown had the moves that so many artists learned, Michael Jackson got many moves from JB!! Also Bruno Mars & his Uptown Funk groovy music is incredible for dancing to 🥰
Not 80s. I think you just missed the point I'm afraid.
Lewis boogie is probably my favorite song by him.
Can't categorize SD. It's just SD. Their in their own league.
Just listen to the whole album. It's all great
boring reaction ...soz
"Too Young to die", "When you gonna learn and "Stillness in time" all worth checking.
For one of the most iconic drum grooves of all time check out their song 'Home At Last'. Mr Bernard Purdie with the "Purdie shuffle". The whole song is a vibe.
This was a hit for them. Smoothe. Lyrics tough to decipher. At first I though it was a song about suicide ( but who writes a song about suicide). Finally I saw an interview with Fagan who said they got the idea of the name Deacon from the great NFL Hall of Famer Deacon Jones. A broken life fighting to basically understand about growing up and trying to filter their way through trials and tribulations in surperbia were they both had grown up. Sometimes a listener finds out the lyrics mean something completely different than what they thought. For me this song will always be about suicide even though it isn't. Great research and comments. Always good reaction. Johnny and Edgar Winter - "Tobacco Road" live video. Waiting for you and your listeners who may not be familiar with them. The Amp is so. ✌️
Nobody ever mentions M-Beat featuring Jamiroquai "Do You Know Where You're Coming From?" ...such a tune.
Music for musicians. Jazz artists have covered some Steely Dan songs. Like they do with Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Beattles, Temptations, talent admires talent. Another great reaction. Keep on trucking my friend......✌️ But seriously, check out Johnny and Edgar Winter - "Tobacco Road". Live video. I think you'll find it very interesting.
Classic!
Love the guitar riff
1. Let's Get It Started 2. Pray 3. Here Comes the Hammer 4. 2 Legit to Quit 5. Addams Family Grove 6. Pumps and a Bump 7. It's All Good 8. Pop Ya Collar That is the list for more MC Hammer.
You do a lot of research after the song is done, along with your commenting and I like the structure order of your reactions. They're perfectionist and Fagan enjoys Jazz. They will criticize their own music if they are not pleased with final production. Fagan has also been quoted as saying the Katy Lied" album is his least favorite and doesn't even like listening to it. As I understand ABC records accidentally destroyed some of the music on album before final production. This delayed final product. ABC didn't want to wait until Fagan and Becker got the music for "Katy Lied" to where they were satisfied and released it to the public earlier than the pair preferred. This was a disappointment to them both. Like I said they were perfectionist. This song "Reeling in the Years" was released for radio play and DJs and radio stations at the time didn't want a song longer than 4 mins. So many songs at this time faded out quickly. Not until the Eagles who refused to shorten " Hotel California" did DJs and radio stations start to play a few songs with long length in time. Enjoyed your reaction and facts about this song and album. ✌️
He had 4 albums that were major studio releases. 1. Let's Get It Started (1988) 2. Please Hammer Don't Hurt Em' (1990) 3. 2 Legit to Quit (1991) 4. The Funky Headhunter (1994) I believe he has self released 4 or 5 albums since then. He was originally going to do a second album with Death Row produced by Tupac, but when Pac was murdered, he asked to be let out of his contract. The Funky Headhunter, though not near as popular as the first 3 albums still sold 1.5 million copies. In any other era of music, that is a huge success. In the 90's, somehow it was considered a flop. (A real flop would have been a Beach Boys album from 1992 which failed to sell 50,000 copies).
Nice to see someone appreciate Steely Dan like I do. Music is a bridge to companionship and camaraderie. Their music travels time. As always nice reaction. ✌️
Their bassist died in 2023.
Always loved the rhythm section and guitar on this but never appreciated the song itself until hearing an acoustic duo doing it in a small bar at a local ski resort. So much to listen to on their songs that the writing can get overlooked… glad you got it. Josie must’ve been some home girl
lol
I was born not long after this song came out, my mother was given the 7" 45RPM single record. I wanted my mom to play it over and over. I don't remember if she ever told me who gave her that record, and she recently passed and we're having a memorial service next Friday. I got very emotional through this reaction, so thank you for giving me one more way to remember her in her 20's when I was a toddler. When I got bigger, I wanted to do more big boy things, and I don't know what happened to that record, just like the song. Paul became very spiritual, and wrote The Wedding Song (there is love) when a friend of his was getting married. There is one awesome video of him performing it solo playing a 12 string guitar.
its hard to see someone who seemed to love othgers so much and not ever be able to love himself. it makes it hard to watch stuff like this
RIP Walter B.😢
it's about rich people pretending to be poor because they think that poor is 'cool'
Sitting on a sack of beans...
Richard was a master on the mixing desk, what you are hearing is Richard and Karen harmonizing to their own voice. Woodwind describes and wooden instrument, flute, clarinet, piccolo, oboe, recorder, even a saxophone due to the reed mouthpiece.
I think strawberry fields is an ironic take on a situation where you think you will be worry free when in fact you can get hit with some real ish
Never ever again say that you'r stupid. Knowing not knowing something is a sign of a high IQ. Asking questions is also. And having too little confidence in yourself is also a sign of a high IQ. You see? I just found 3 signs for an high IQ in just 6 seconds of this video. What does that tell you about your IQ?
Word lyrics are crazy and real af
💙💙 Warrant songs "UNCLE TOM'S CABIN" (official video), "HEAVEN", "I SAW RED", "SOMETIMES SHE CRIES", "BLIND FAITH", "DOWN BOYS", "32 PENNIES", "MACHINE GUN" are other great songs to react to. Jani, the lead singer, was so Incredibly talented, in so many ways. He was such a great songwriter!! RIP Jani.💙💙❤
I love when I find a new funny cool reactor and I can go back and see all the good songs they've reacted to
Yea man me and my boy in HS used to bug out laughing and loving this video back in the day. Yo they have many more good songs. Mr Moon, Stillness in Time, Morning Glory, Do You Know Where You're Coming From. I put a lot of people up on them way back
This group and this song were so much a part of the childhood and teenage years of so many of us
If you want to react to a band formed in NYC .... consider The Strokes! They are such a talented band IMO - don't get the love they deserve
You should watch the video of Alan Jackson singing this song at George's funeral held in the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
Sweet and simple ... like Pooh ...
You were on the meaning of the song early in this one. Of course when released to the public no one one new who Rikki was. I found in my yrs. following Steely Dan that the record label's choice of songs or maybe it was Steely Dan's choice wasn't ( my opinion only ) their best songs on their albums. Not that I didn't enjoy them, I enjoyed everything they did., it's just I found other songs on their albums even more pleasurable to listen to then the ones the public heard on radio. Even Fm radio didn't play many of other songs on their albums with the exception of " My Old School", "Dirty Works", Pretzel Logic" and maybe one or two more but not often. As always I found your reaction interesting and enjoyable. ✌️ If your interested with talented musicians of the 70's check out Johnny and Edgar Winter - " Tobacco Road" live video.
Audio has too much gain. It's distorting.
Honestly I've listened to this song a bazillion times and I never concentrated on the lyrics either. And this was the first album I listened to on my newly purchased Technics turntable ... in the 70's
To paraphrase another viewer from another UA-cam channel, "John Bonham beats those drums like they owe him money!" Lol 😜😊
Johnny and Edgar Winter "Tobacco Road Live" video can't be amped up. This is their first album and the only one that Fagan isn't lead vocals on most of the songs. He didn't have confidence in his voice yet. David Gabriel is lead singer on this song and I believe he also wrote some music on "Can't Buy a Thrill". Not that long ago Gabriel sued Fagan and Becker for royalties as an original member of Steely Dan. Don't know the outcome or if it's even been sttled yet. Interesting album cover. Albums were essential to marketing in those days. Great hook in this song "I'm a fool to do your dirty work, don't want to do your dirty work anymore", smoothe. Enjoyed your reaction and how you're surprised by their genre of music. ✌️
❤️🔥🗽
The song you're thinking of is "Just Got Paid" by ZZ top.
