Anytime I hear Audioslave I think of Shadow of the Sun. Which goes pretty well with "Collateral" the movie during the beginning of the gunfight scene with Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx.
Audioslave has way to many good songs. Shadow on the sun, heavens dead, out of exile, gasoline, cochise, seasons and so on. Also Chris has a full album of his own music solo. Ranging from songs like cleaning my gun, to his higher Truth album. He truly was devine
The Rage Against the Machine guys are seroiusly great. Tom Morello's guitar sound and the rhythm section by Timothy Commerford and Brad Wilk are incredible. Audioslave played at the Live 8 in Berlin. Killing in the Name. Cornell had another voice than Zach de la Rocha but did a great job
Two amazing singers from the 90s. Chris Cornell and Layne Staley. Both different techniques but god what voices. Sad to think they are both gone now. Rock lost two unbelievable voices and talents.

"Cochise" was the one by Audioslave I believe Dave was trying to remember. There's a really good cover that Chris does of "No One Compares 2 U" that is absolutely hauntingly beautiful if you haven't seen it already. I would also recommend "Seasons" by Cornell as a solo and Audioslave's "I'm The Highway" as well. His voice was an exceptional one, and he is dearly and greatly missed.
They have done nothing compares to u covered by Chris already! They haven't done his cover of Michael Jacksons Billie Jean yet though... that 1 is really good as well
I think the popular song you were referring to towards the end is called "Cochise". Where it starts off with Tom Morello on guitar and it kinda sounds like a helicopter flying over head with the noise he makes.
If you want to travel further down the Chris Cornell rabbit hole, listen to Hunger Strike and Say Hello to Heaven by Temple of the Dog. That was a one-off project paying tribute to Andrew Wood, lead singer of Mother Love Bone, who died of a heroine overdose at age 24. He and Chris Cornell were good friends and Chris organized the project. A couple of members of Mother Love Bone played on this record and would emerge less than a year later as Pearl Jam. Their soon to be lead singer, Eddie Vedder, was asked to sing duet with Chris Cornell on Hunger Strike.
I saw him as a solo guy 3 times, Soundgarden 2 times. He and Anthony Bourdain committing suicide back to back. Still stays in my soul. Also, the dude was like 6 ft 5, ripped up like a marvel star and freakishly good looking. Cool and humble too
