Such an incredible cover. Michael’s version feels more like a dance song; you catch the words and get the gist of the song, but it doesn’t feel emotionally heavy. Chris’s cover makes you hang on every word and feel the emotion of the conflict and the impassioned delivery. To see Chris perform this song on his solo tours was always profound. Except for a few “woo hoos” being yelled by drunk idiots who don’t know how to appreciate a quiet moment, you could hear a pin drop. RIP to the legend.
This is the cover I rate every other cover song to. He put his own absolutely incredible, beautiful & heart wrenching twist on it. And I completely agree, Chris had one of the best voices, ever.
He Created Temple of the Dog to make one album dedicated to his friend Andrew Wood, Eddie Vedder was also on the Album "Hunger Strike" was really good.
This I was waiting for a while, the fact that you had so much respect for the song and heard Chris' version and still blew your mind says a lot. Chris was a different breed for sure, his voice n his style... unique
Thank You for playing my favorite singer of all time. Please play more Chris Cornell, anything that he was a part of is ok with me. R.i.P. Sweet Music Man.
Covering Michael Jackson is like covering Led Zeppelin. Ballsy as fuck, and brilliant to boot if you are as good as Chris to make it your own. By the way, Chris covers Led Zeppelin's Thank You, just to prove how great he was. Oh, and just to top it off he decided to cover Nothing compares to you after Sinead did a cover and made it her own. Oh and while he was at it he covered Bob Marley's Redemption Song and also figured i might as well cover The Beatles as well, not once but twice. Genius!
As another reviewer said. You could imagine this is the original Billie Jean and MJ just made a pop cover over it. MJ made you dance to it, Cornell makes you feel it.
And P..S id be a jerk if I didn't say it. Rest in peace Chris MF Cornell! the greatest singer the Earth has ever seen. He cannot be touched. Creativity, emotion, range, power, Humanity, Edge, attitude, poetry, adaptability, Confidence, soul, empathy, you pick a word that describes a singer and he embodies it. Number one all-time hands down
PPS, definitely do nothing compares to you Sirius XM Studio. And definitely do slaves and bulldozers by Soundgarden and show me how to live by Audioslave you might as well just embrace the Chris Cornell rabbit hole for a few reactions all right that's my last comment I'm out
Chris brings some of the depth to the lyrics. The lyrics are dark, sad and everyone immediately wants to dance when they hear them. I believe it is how Michael coped with pain. By adding something positive to lessen the pain in the message. Let's be real. These lyrics are the worst heartbreak men can go through. Micheal disquised his pain in music with up beat melodies so it is not so gruesome for others to look at,Chris pulls the mask and rips the bandages off. Yet, he still hides pain behind his hair, because although he is being vulnerable, it is not his story. Sadly, we all lost two amazing story tellers. Hopefully, they left them here and will never need precautionary tales in the world they now exist in...
This must have been around the same time Chris Cornell did the cover of Patience from Guns and Roses thst he did this cover of Billie Jean from Michael Jackson . Great to this one hopefully you check out the from Guns and Roses.
Oh, thank u M. U opened my eyes to beauty of this song. This version was not better than MJ’s, which is one of my top 10, but I listened to “it” instead of dancing to the beat.
There is another live version of him singing with just his guitar that I’m not fond of. My favorite is one that I feel’s the best version He’s at a concert performing on a large stage with his band and has short hair. Absolutely love this version! His version I feel is better than Angelina Jordan’s, but if you haven’t seen hers, you’ll probably enjoy that as well. She performs it with a jazz flare.
The voice of a generation. His cover of "Nothing compares to you" on Serius XM, live, is incredible
the voice of a century, literally.
Goosebumps…EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Yeah. Chris had a tendency to just slay any cover he put his mind to.
One of the best covers of any song, ever.
Chris's version is a sharp warning.
Everyone suggests the cover of “ Nothing compares to you “ but they all overlook his live acoustic version of “Fell on black days”
Agree...one of my favorite
He also has a phenomenal cover of “ Bob Marley’s - Redemption Song “ as well. You should do that next. Than his “ One “ song mash up of U2 / Metallica
This is the cover I rate every other cover song to. He put his own absolutely incredible, beautiful & heart wrenching twist on it. And I completely agree, Chris had one of the best voices, ever.
id put him at top 3 all time. with all of em a tie.
❤Chris! U should hear his mashup of U2s One and Metallicas One. Amazing!
This version definitely fits the lyrics/tone of the song. He nailed it!
❤️ i love chris cornell! his voice is absolutely amazing. my heart just broke when he passed. i hope he is at peace. he was a beautiful man.
He Created Temple of the Dog to make one album dedicated to his friend Andrew Wood, Eddie Vedder was also on the Album "Hunger Strike" was really good.
Amazing. Please check his 2010 live performance of When I'm Down. It's unbelievable
Yes! That performance was perfection.
Yeah…. Chris will do that man…
Oh, his "day in the life" cover is truly exceptional. You have to check that out
Chris is my fav Rock singer. He sang from his soul.
Your reaction .. is everything Chris probably wanted you to feel
This I was waiting for a while, the fact that you had so much respect for the song and heard Chris' version and still blew your mind says a lot.
Chris was a different breed for sure, his voice n his style... unique
His voice can make a grown man cry like a baby.
Man, I miss Chris Cornell 🙏🏻💖
I got a say man I have to recommend the version live from MSN. He plays it with a full band and it's unreal
He sings this like a tango! 🔥☮️💜🤘
You know a song is great when it can be remade in different generes and it is still amazing.
He has two versions of this song and both are incredible! I’m not a MJ fan but realize he’s good, but what Chris did to this song is NASTY!!!!😏
Thank You for playing my favorite singer of all time. Please play more Chris Cornell, anything that he was a part of is ok with me. R.i.P. Sweet Music Man.
Dude it is really nice to see somebody appreciate music especially a different genre. Great reaction
You should hear him sing Ava Maria. Seriously he slayed Ava Maria.
Yeah this cover floored me when I heard it
RIP Chris you'll always be my brother 💔
Yes, you are right, his vocal range is absolutely insane
Grunge-era was like blues, jazz, and of course rock influenced.
Chris Cornell did to Billy Jean what Johnny Cash did to Hurt.
Love how you freeze 😅
His final solo album is achingly beautiful. Higher Truth. Wrong Side is my fav track.
I miss both Chris..he was so innovative and beautiful legendary voice.
MAn I really enjoyed your reaction...Love when you give credit where credit is due...again nicely done!

He was, is and will be... I loved your reaction.
I am normally apposed to covers but this one right here....chef's kiss
The first time I heard this, I was so blown away that I listened to it four times in a row. I've never did that before, or since
He’s the greatest of all time.
I'M an AIC fan, but CC = GOAT for vocals.
As another reviewer said. You could imagine this is the original Billie Jean and MJ just made a pop cover over it. MJ made you dance to it, Cornell makes you feel it.
No disrespect to Michael, after all he wrote this amazing song... But this is so good, it's like Michael did the cover of Chris' version.
Apart of me died, when he died. He spoke to me. He expressed my emotions. I, often felt suicidal. I love him
Chris is my favorite musician of all time. I have 4 tattoos related to him in some way.
your reaction, had me on tears dog! and I heard this song a million times....we miss him so much but left us some gems.
You should hear his version of Billie Jean live concert at MSN
Check out Chris Cornell's cover of "Patience"
He does my favorite version of "I will always love you "
You are a refreshing reaction channel. Thanks brother keep it up!
This is beautiful
I used to love going to his solo acoustic shows for the likes of this. #Special :)
You must react to Chris’ cover of “Nothing Compares to You” !
Haunting
And P..S id be a jerk if I didn't say it. Rest in peace Chris MF Cornell! the greatest singer the Earth has ever seen. He cannot be touched. I would argue that Freddie Murcury is right there
Love this reaction.

WoW
This is how you do covers.
Make it your own.
Yeah definitely check the cover of Nothing compares to you ..the XM live video .Prince wrote the song ..its amazing Chris Cornell one the greatest ❤
Prince wrote that song, not a cover.
@@lukesmusic yeah bad typo on my part ..I fixed it . Thanks for letting me know
Chris made that song his own
❤
Love ur reactions
The Civil Wars does a beautiful cover of this song. It's definitely worth checking out
Now ya gotta do his cover of Nothing Compares 2 U!!!!!
That was amazing!
Even with the out of tune guitar, hes amazing. Seen him live twice before he passed away 😢❤.
I’m glad someone else hears that. It’s the 6th string primarily isn’t it? I started thinking maybe it was on purpose

Better than the original. 💯😎
MJ is the GOAT
Empire of the sun by audioslave is good
Oh, thank u M. U opened my eyes to beauty of this song. This version was not better than MJ’s, which is one of my top 10, but I listened to “it” instead of dancing to the beat.

You think hat's good you should hear him do "patience" by GNR. Thanks for reacting matey
MJ was good but Chris... sends shivers down my spine
David cook did it even better on American idol. Gotta check it out.
That wasn't even his best cover of Billy Jean, he often played with the inflections while singing it live.
I know you guys are mostly reacting to social, cultural and political stuff lately but have you ever heard John Denver's "Country roads"
Chris Cornell’s version is better. You can hear every word. Enunciation!
Chris Stapleton reminds me of Chris Cornell
Chris' version > Michaels version all day
Yeah Chris flipped that one
Michael never reached the true emotion of the message in this song.
This one always hurts to watch because he's gone way too soon.
It's a shame that he was murdered..
Check out "A Real CSInvestigation" Draw your own conclusions. 😢💔
Mike was a singer. Never wrote anything.
And committed suicide.
Sad
Can guarantee jackson heard this in heaven and cried its a beautifully haunting cover.
