His solo covers are freaking amazing as well but some of his temple of the dog songs are some of his best for me call me a dog and times of trouble never seem to get enough love like say hello to heaven or hunger strike
Gasoline, Jesus Christ Pose, Rusty Cage, Slaves and Bulldozers, Burden In my Hand, Outshined - the list goes on & on. Ahhh, the joy you have ahead of you!
Not just hardest intro to a song and video. Hardest intro to a band. This was their first single as a band. Most supergroups don’t pan out. We only remember the few that are successful but there are a lot that just don’t work. As a RATM and Soundgarden fan at the time when this group was forming I was hoping for the best but expecting something mediocre just to keep my expectations in check. I cannot stress how exciting it was to watch this video premiere. They didn’t leave a second for anyone to doubt whether or not this supergroup was going to work. They put out a lot of great music but nothing will top that first single for me.
Chris Cornell is a vocal master and musical legend! I got to see him live a few years before he passed. I will never forget that concert, feel blessed to have been there.
Anytime you’re wondering what’s making a strange sound in a RATM or Audioslave song the answer is Tom’s guitar. I could tell you what he’s doing to make the helicopter sound but I think you’d have more fun watching Tom demonstrate. He shows you exactly how in the first 40 seconds of this video: ua-cam.com/video/mO_3ATtgIs0/v-deo.html
Hell yeah!! Cochise is a certified banger!! If this song doesn't get you jumping in the mosh pit, nothing will. Mr. Cornell delivers one of the most epic screams in rock history. All of RAM is in this band minus the lead singer, Zach. The helicopter sound is Tom Morello's guitar.
Chris had a four octave range and the ability to rock heavy and sing with so much emotion. He sang with his heart and soul. Brian Johnson doesn't even come close.
I said it on Like A Stone and I’ll say it here. You need to go deep into Chris Cornell’s music. Probably one of the strongest voices ever. His range was all over the place. He has a load of solo projects doing acoustic cover songs, including Michael Jackson, Prince, etc. He has a few solo CDs just as Chris Cornell, but his main band was Soundgarden. So many amazing songs on his one Temple Of The Dog album, and of course Audioslave. Check out Outshined from Soundgarden. Say Hello To Heaven and Hunger Strike from Temple of The Dog. Just way too many to mention.
Chris was known in certain circles as “The Voice”. He was gifted. We love him so much for so many reasons. That scream?? You can hear the pain. Like so many of his songs it was like he was talking directly to you but singing. Thank you.
This video is about Audioslave forming & becoming a band. Chris is up top waiting and the others arrive in a pickup truck. They meet at the top and solidify it with a group band hug at the end. Chris came directly from rehab to shoot this video, his nerves must’ve been crazy!
Tom Morello (guitar) prides himself in playing all his sound effects on guitar w/ pedals and WITHOUT samples or keyboards on both Audioslave and Rage Against the Machine records (The Prophets of Rage project did have a DJ from Public Enemy - DJ Lord, which RATM did w/ Chuck D of Public Enemy and B-Real of Cypress Hill)
If u like this harder stuff and Chris’s voice u gotta check out some of the harder Soundgarden stuff like Slaves and Bulldozers! It will blow u away 😊❤
This was filmed in San Fernando Valley in the Sepulveda Basin. I was on my way home from work and saw the fireworks from the freeway. That night on the local news they said that light you saw was a music video being filmed by the group Audioslave. I saw the video and was in love. RIP Chris Cornell
You don’t know what you’re in for. Chris did three albums with Audioslave, five with Soundgarden, one with Temple of the Dog, and four solo albums. Chris was a master songwriter and musician as well as an incredibly strong singer with a rare four-octave range. So many good songs, both acoustic and electric and both live and studio versions.
I Am the Highway, Out of Exile, Be Yourself, Doesn't Remind Me, Shadow On the Sun, What You Are, Your Time Has Come, and Show Me How To Live by Audioslave.... and, Zero Chance, Mailman, LimoWreck, Spoonman, Fell On Black Days, My Wave, Just Like Suicide, 4th Of July, Pretty Noose, Slaves and Bulldozers, Rusty Cage, Drawing Flies, Room A Thousand Years Wide, Jesus Christ Pose, and Black Hole Sun are needed reactions for SoundGarden...
Chris's original band was "Soundgarden". While with Soundgarden he did a song called, "Slaves and Bulldozers". It is amazing, and a fan favorite. Listen to the recorded version. You won't be disappointed.
Chris is lead vocals with Sound garden before this. Seattle grung sceen. "Temple of the Dog" with Pearl Jam members. The man is incredible. My favorite solo songs of his is "I Nearly forgot my Broken Heart". If no one has heard that one? It's great
Anything he did... this, Outshined, Fell on Black Days, his own stuff, Lepplin Covers, and the actual song he did for transformers, right after Soundgarden reunited, Live to Rise, Seattle blues tone bro....
Bruh I remember when this joint dropped. I was in college. Heard it on the radio, then saw the video at the dining hall later that day. Everything about it was (and still is) BADASS.
There are few songs in existence that will get me up on my feet, grooving HARD to this song. What an absolute beast of a track! The combined raw talent in this group was astounding.
From Wikipedia: The video begins with the band members arriving at a construction rig in a Chevrolet C/K pickup truck, symbolizing a band without a singer, while Chris Cornell waits alone atop the rig, symbolizing a singer without a band. The band members take the elevator to the top of the rig, where after joining Cornell, they play the song as a barrage of fireworks go off behind them. After the song, the fireworks cease and the band members hug, signifying that a new band had been formed. Cornell left rehab in a car which drove him to the set to film the video. Due to the large number of pyrotechnics used in the video, local residents believed that the explosions were caused by terrorists; speaking about the filming process, Morello revealed that "The local police and news station literally received thousands of calls from people who thought the city was under siege. All the freeways were blocked because they thought there was an attack occurring". The extreme use of pyrotechnics and fireworks in the shooting also marked "Cochise" as a very expensive music video. A teaser trailer was released for the video in mid-October, before the full video was made available for digital download later in the month. It was later included on the band's first video album, Audioslave, released in July 2003. The video was nominated for Best Video at the 2003 Kerrang! Awards, and was included in the MTV2 Headbangers Ball "Best Metal Videos of the New Millennium" list in 2004.
As a fellow wearer of eyeglasses, you know a song hits hard when you have to hold your glasses on your head because it hits so hard... also, the how much money did they spend on fireworks line killed me. Chris checked out of rehab, went and filmed this video, and went back and checked into rehab to complete the program. I had the pleasure of seeing him live a few times, and other than TOOL, his shows were the best I've ever seen
Chris and Chester were best buddies, one of the many factors Chester took his life was because he couldn't get over Chris taking his. Truly sad, tragic and heartbreaking not to mention the sheer talent lost.
This was a great reaction. As a huge, huge Audioslave fan I would strongly recommend Set it Off next. Shadow on the Sun, Shape of Things to Come, Show Me How to Live are also great choices for you.
the AC/Dc comment was very astute. he even mentions in interviews that he studied AC/Dc for vocals for audioslaves so good job! He said he was going for a style like that.
Funnily one of Chester's favourite singer was Chris Cornell. They even sang together live, and Chester sang on Chris's funeral. They both died of suicide the same year.
Thiiiiiis mutha fucking video is why I always get angry about the songs people request for CC and Audioslave. This song here shows what he can do, and what Audioslave is about
No shade on the efforts of Chris and Chester; if you want to hear an incredibly long, powerful scream, check out, The Grudge by TOOL. I won't ruin it by telling you how long it is, but Maynard is undefeated!
That's how a new R & R supergroup introduces themselves, ...like GNR with Welcome To The Jungle & Communication Breakdown by the mighty Zepp!! next up...Show Me How To Live.
Every Band Chris was in rocks, Temple Of The Dog, Sound Garden, Audioslave.
Yep! Here’s some song recommendations from those bands: Hunger Strike, Jesus Christ Pose, Rusty Cage, Outshined, Spoonman, and many more.
His solo covers are freaking amazing as well but some of his temple of the dog songs are some of his best for me call me a dog and times of trouble never seem to get enough love like say hello to heaven or hunger strike
Agreed!
Chris singing period! Talent for sure no matter what!
Truth
The whole first album is going to melt your face off of your face
audioslave's other killer song is "show Me How To Live".its frkn killer!
“Show Me How To Live” is one of my top songs! I feel it in my soul.❤❤❤

3/4 of Rage is in this band, with Chris Motherfu**in Cornell, of Soundgarden and Temple of the Dog fame. It couldn't fail, and it, in fact, KILLED.
Chris’ voice was an unbelievably powerful and true force of nature. His entire career was loaded with absolute vocal fire.
Show Me How To Live and Shadow on the Sun should be the next two Audioslave songs you listen to
Naw. Set It Off or Gasoline...or Mam or Animal.
Chris Cornell is a vocal master and musical legend! I got to see him live a few years before he passed. I will never forget that concert, feel blessed to have been there.

Audioslave - Set it Off live at Late Night. They play on the roof, one of the best live performances ever
Hell yeah!! Cochise is a certified banger!! If this song doesn't get you jumping in the mosh pit, nothing will. Mr. Cornell delivers one of the most epic screams in rock history. All of RAM is in this band minus the lead singer, Zach. The helicopter sound is Tom Morello's guitar.
u should listen to given up by linkin park. that one has the best scream
Chris was Chester friend and idol. I encourage you to check out the time they sung Crawling together.
Chills every time. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched that video.
Chris had a four octave range and the ability to rock heavy and sing with so much emotion. He sang with his heart and soul. Brian Johnson doesn't even come close.
"Set It Off" from this same album will blow your head off. 💥🔥
Good recommendation!
Yes! Also “Shadow On the Sun” and “Gasoline.”
RIP Chris Cornell
My dude, when you start moving around bopping to it , you had me hooked. Great reaction and looking forward to more!

Exactly what I was going to suggest.
Chris Cornell RIP 💔 we miss you 🙏 talent beyond words

Wow that's amazing!
Gasoline was my favorite Audioslave song. You have to check it out live! Enjoy
Best Voice. One of the best Video every. LISTEN TO ALL SONGS..

That's a great one but I love the acoustic When I'm Down and Two Drink Minimum
One of the greatest screams of all time. If you haven't done it, you have to experience Soundgarden's "Outshined". Chris's vocals are monstrous.
Audioslave: Show me How To Live
There are few songs in existence that will get me up on my feet, grooving HARD to this song.
What an absolute beast of a track! The combined raw talent in this group was astounding.
Dudes reaction to the intro was amazing
Another song that's on par with this one is Show Me How To Live
Reach Down. Slaves and Bulldozers. When I'm Down. Getaway Car. Tighter and Tighter.
A deep dive on Chris is a must.
Thank you for giving the Correct respect to the INTRO
Bro!!!! Your Ready For The "Mosh Pit"!!!!! I Really Enjoyed Your Reaction!!!! Welcome To Audioslave!!!!
Cochise is the archetypal banger.

One of my favorite Auduoslave songs (also from the debut album), Shadow on the Sun.
This was a great reaction. As a huge, huge Audioslave fan I would strongly recommend Set it Off next. Shadow on the Sun, Shape of Things to Come, Show Me How to Live are also great choices for you.
"Show Me How to Live" should be your next Ausioslave reaction.
the AC/Dc comment was very astute. he even mentions in interviews that he studied AC/Dc for vocals for audioslaves so good job! He said he was going for a style like that.
An Audio slave fan is born 🤘
He is telling the story of Jesus through first person modern eyes. Listen again!
First intro to Chris was his first band and first hit in the 90s "Spoonman" from Soundgarden. I highly recomend it.
Outshined and Rusty Cage predate Spoonman.
@@TheSaltySeaman Ty i always assumed Spoonman was their first breakout single.
"SHOW ME HOW TO LIVE" = BANGER!!!!
oh i think the 'new favorite band' presumption is a safe one to make.
not sure if you've heard any of Chris's other band, Soundgarden.. but if you haven't I suggest starting with "Rusty Cage" or "Black Hole Sun"
Chris was doing screaming like that before Chester he inspired Chester later became his best friend
Fun fact: residents of the local area actually called 911 because they thought the fireworks were some sort of terror attack haha…
you been digging these Audioslave tracks but you haven't tried Soundgarden yet? Give "Blow Up the Outside World" a listen.
You gotta go through EVERYTHING Chris Cornell has been a part of. Literally anything he touches is amazing.
great man, make more stuff of audioslave please
Yep!!! I completely concur with that!!! YUP!!!
You and me are brothers now! It’s my favorite rock song of all time too! Great reaction!
Funnily one of Chester's favourite singer was Chris Cornell. They even sang together live, and Chester sang on Chris's funeral. They both died of suicide the same year.
Chris and Chester, good people, tortured souls, great friends = GOATs. PERIOD.
Check out a younger Chris in Soundgarden singing Outshined!! ✌❤
They had to pull Chris Cornell out of rehab for this song. He was speaking to himself
Thiiiiiis mutha fucking video is why I always get angry about the songs people request for CC and Audioslave. This song here shows what he can do, and what Audioslave is about
Please "Show me how to live" . You won´t regret it. Best,
His remake of Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean will blow your mind! 🔥
Brother you have to listen to Chris sing slaves and Bulldozers when chis was with the band sound garden
Chis will become your favorite, listen to his other bands!!
Soundgarden baby you gotta hear Soundgarden Chris Cornell very versatile singer. He sounds a little like the AC DC singer but cleaned up.
Look up Far Beyond The Wheel, sometimes Soundgarden played under the name Nude Dragon!
You would like “show me how to live “ also
Best album of the 2000’s. Hands down
Great minds think alike, I swear said to my Son somebody blew the fireworks 🎇 budget. Cheers from 🇨🇦
Such a 🔥🔥🔥song! Great reaction
I'm not a superfan but I do know that 'Show me how to live' is awesome top, not as 'hard' but awesome still
No shade on the efforts of Chris and Chester; if you want to hear an incredibly long, powerful scream, check out, The Grudge by TOOL. I won't ruin it by telling you how long it is, but Maynard is undefeated!

Man, you would be awesome to go rock out with at a concert!
Dude, as soon as you compared Chris' voice to Brian Johnsons... you gained a new subscriber. Just found you, but great reactions mate.
