Chris Cornell, my favorite front man from the 90's. I feel that Audioslave was his crowning achievement. I love Soundgarden, but the Audioslave music has a maturity to it. R.I.P Chris!
I loved this performance - thank you. Another creative genius, fighting his demons. Chris had an amazing voice and the lyrics are sad and haunting. Rest in Peace, bless your troubled soul💔
He's such a gifted vocalist. So unique. And I like all of the bands he was in equally. Each had stellar musicians in them and their different styles worked perfectly with his voice.
To me, the crazy thing about Audioslave is you got THE BAND from RATM and the former lead singer of Soundgarden coming together to do music that sounds like neither of the groups they were in. All 3 Audioslave albums are great.
😳WOW Biz!! I'm so impressed and loved your reaction more than you'll ever know!💯😊 I've watched upwards of a hundred reactions to this song over the years and NO ONE has ever got the sentiment and meaning of Chris' lyrics completely. The fact that you got what Chris was referring to when he said "lost in the pages of a book full of death" was beautiful. I love that you got it! You're not my favorite for no reason! lol!!😜 You're the best.🥰 To elaborate on that specific part of the lyrics, Chris sings... -"On a cobweb afternoon, in a room full of emptiness by a freeway, I confess I was lost in the pages of a book full of death"... -Chris Cornell Point of reference... 1.) Where do most musicians spend a large portion of their time??? In a motel or hotel room, usually on a freeway/highway. 2.) What's in the nightstand draw of every motel/hotel room in America??? A Bible... full of death.😉 Anyway, I could go on for freaking DAYS about this song, Chris, his lyrics and Tom Morello's insane mini-guitar solo. But I'll spare you! lol!!😆This will always be one of my all-time go-to songs. It's as real as it gets!! I don't think there's a soul on the planet who could hear this and not be moved by the message. The struggle is real for all of us. No matter who you are... Loved your heartfelt reaction Biz!!!🥰🥰🥰 Peace, light and love to all...💞 Side note: In case you don't know, Audioslave is Rage Against the Machine with the late great Chris Cornell on lead vocals and lyricist. When Chris heard about the split between RATM and their lead singer Zach de la Roche... he called them up and told them he wanted to collab. Needless to say, they were blown away by the legend Chris Cornell "asking" to join forces with them. What happened next was pure magic and this song is proof of that!❤ Next up for Audioslave: "COCHISE" and "SHOW ME HOW TO LIVE"!!!👊🔥🔥🔥 EDIT: fun fact... this recording/vid was filmed in Jimi Hendrix's house.😍 Rest in sweet heavenly peace Chris!!🙏
Awesome reaction. It's great to see people discovering such an amazing song and talent, like Chris and Audioslave was. Chris was unique, super talented and forever will be missed
Love watching reactions to my favourite song of all time, it's like watching it for the first time all over again through someone else's experience - thanks 🙏
Thats so true , we dont know what tomorrow is going to bring, so glad we can share and enjoy this mans special gifts. Not a day goes by that i dont play a Chris Cornell song. R.I.P. SWEET MUSIC MAN.
That's a good call. It is kind of bizarre and I saw it with Elvis too and really lots of performers but in retrospect, you go back and listen to stuff they were singing died or committed suicide or whatever, it's really Goosebump territory because it's almost like they had a premonition.
I read a book by Dean Koonce , at the end he said regarding death. " Everyone of us think we are the exception. That we will beat the odds, and out live others" very good reaction.
Childhood trauma killed Chris , his Father was very cruel emotionally and physically. He never got over ii , haunted him all his life. That is why he self-medicated it was his solution to his trauma. Heartbreaking, beautiful man inside and out.
Cornell made me to remember my first experience when I was playing winning eleven on playstation 1, America lost such a great talent. I never quit playing this song, Cornell's voice is insane. RIP From Indonesia
Audioslave was my perfect group! They had all the elements I LOVED! I wished they could've written more. Soundgarden was BADASS! I love them both. My two favorite bands.
I feel like everyone takes something different, but deep from this song. For me this was contemplating the eternities and the Lord's promises. However I feel like he misses the love and only sees loneliness in them.
Chris does a song with Timbaland that I wish you would check out called “ Part Of Me “ !!!! I love Chris, he did a lot of solo songs that need to be checked out!!!❤😊
This is such a great song. Rage against the machine and Chris worked very well together . You need to check out Shadow on the sun, I am the Highway, Get away car, set it of Basically, almost the entire first album.

Agreed, I think RATM's musos with Chris's voice was a match made in music heaven.
The only perfect catalog
For those who have a soul, this song will grab you by it. 🔥
Perfectly said ❤
True..
Audioslave's best song (and video) and one of the best songs ever.

To me, If they endured, they would've been one of the best bands ever. They could do anything.
This reaction kicked ass and I can't tell you how much I appreciate and relate to all the things you said when you were talking about it. Solid.
