Could have had an hour long video just on that guys stories. When the world slows down and you listen you can hear some pretty cool stuff.
I liked the tune that was playing at the end while you were driving. Mellow tune to drive with.
thank you , I was enjoying that clip editing myself :)
"And then they'll paint it" Nice to see another Blind Melon lyric painted on something. Made my day honestly.
Let's go for a car ride dad. Thank you for adopting her.
:) , she is SO sweet ...and she let my 19 lb , 16 year old jack russell live when he tried his usual king kong act🤦♂️.
My dog Rana who I had in Florida in the 80's looked so much like your Bull does..Brindle with a white chest..Very cool...Looks like a decent bug find..There's one for sale here in Detroit that I actually had to look at the post to strike my curiosity..I drove a 69 bug from upstate NY in 81 to Daytona beach..I had my cassettes, clothes and Zeppelin with me and it was a journey..Hooker header pipe was a honkin all the way..I felt at times on the interstate in the dark like I was in an airplane..Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..Old memories never die..Thanks V man..Great way to wake up with my coffee watching you cut weeds and dig out bugs..
I could listen to that guy tell stories all day.
That Fairlane wagon is screaming for a big block and some slicks. 😎
Your dash curse has been lifted, with a bonus - a key!
Nice to see another one rescued before it reaches the point of no return.
Congrats on the rescue dog, obviously very happy to have finally found a home.
SO happy with the dash , and yes , I think when i pull the dash cover we might see that in a few more years the dash would be gone from mice as well. Thank you , Chrissy is a sweet pup :)
Nice 64. Finally a car with no dash rust lol.
I'm still amazed in how complete you can find these cars. Here in Mexico people would just start yanking parts off of them and when you find them in this state, it's pretty much the raw shell
I was SOOOO happy when I laid eyes on that dash😍
Might be a raw shell, but I’ll bet they are rust free raw shells!
another piece of the vw fence comes home, great story teller
perhaps you missed the vid where a friend and I installed a lift :) ? Oh and it's my bday month so I just spent an obscene amount of $ on tools and metal repair panels 😆....great story teller indeed👍.
That bus screams Mustie need to fix me 😁
VW fence!!!👍👌👏😂😁 LOL
@@5150mxVW
Oh, new toys! I'm eagerly waiting to see you wrenching and welding.
VW Fence HAHA!
The oldtimer was delightful! I could listen to him for hours!
😁, great story .
"Your trim piece fell off". ..."I don't know how that happened" LMAO! Love his stories. I love how every vehicle or miscellaneous part he knows exactly where it came from and of course the story behind it. Old New England Yankees like him are priceless.
what a great video. That old man was a true gentleman and knew everything about his "hoard". And the pitty at the end was cool, as we have a female blue brindle pitty un cropped, I recognized those ears right away. Again, very enjoyable! Thank you and keep em coming!
thank you , wasn't that story great from Don :).
Great job buddy trailer comes through again love that you adopted a dog looks absolutely adorable sitting on the driver's seat. I think the old owner never took one breath telling his story
That's a great story about the inspection. Glad you dubbed that in.
sure was , haha , thank you Tony
I appreciate the videos and the optimism ! Don is a legend. This Don not ‘that’ Don ;)
A recent 67 rescue and then a 64 plus a beautiful 5 year old rescue that lives to ride. It is all starting to sound a little familiar. Great video Jason and I love a great VW story that includes arrest. BIG THUMBS UP and I am excited to meet the new member of your family
thank you Brian , very familiar indeed , I'll just re-name her " Patrina " now :)
I love the old man's story behind the story of that vw just love it pricless.👍
It would be worth saving that bus for the amazing art on the sides!
Whoever dies with the most toys leaves the biggest mess for their kids to clean up later! Have fun now and make ‘em earn that inheritance!
Vendor had one of those voices that seems to just flow like a river. Loved this one, thank you.
👍, glad you enjoyed it Chris , more from Don and his place soon
What a cool gent - he knows what he's got & how it got there. I'd take "Daisy", one of those Ford vans (I had a 1970 D300 way back when), & that Jeep. You meet the most interesting people when you own a vintage VW.
Gotta love that ole fella just spinning yarn about the old cars. Lots of history there. He stoled the show!! LOL
Like your videos
:))) , more stories and cars to come from here👍
Great save, great story. You seem to be the man who keeps the stories and cars alive.
So happy you and your family adopted Chrissie! Great video!
thank you , we are too ,👍
Congrats on the addition to the family, what a beautiful dog. She seems enamored with you ! And Chrissy has good taste in this 1964 Volkswagen Beetle. She understands the VALUE of being rescued !!! Remains of Volkswagens scattered through out the land ... Some are truley "Rusting in peace, or as the case may be - pieces ... The red/orange passenger bay window van taillights are on upside down. Amber signal should be on top. Relics of the VW past being saved by Jason to perhaps live again ... Slainte' ! Cheers !
Love when there's a story that comes with the car. Great video!
me too :) , thank you
Love the Blind Melon lyrics on the side of the bus. I'd buy it on the spot just for that 😊
Listening to that gentleman tell his story, his voice reminded me of Stan Lee. Awesome find!
Loved that hippie VW bus! Kool as beans! Go back and get 'er, leave all that body paint on it and restore that baby!!
will do👍
@@5150mxVW Awesome!! Get Mustie to help ya he'll enjoy that! lol
That one looks like it has some potential. And no dash rust!!! And a key too. Life is good. We had a local guy with a stash like that who hoarded everything for years. Turns out he was a fascinating character and knew the story of each and every VW in the yard. I was able to even get a couple of '59 Beetles from him for $300 with lots of good parts. Sadly he moved, and the stash was mostly scrapped by those that did not realize what he had. Save them all while you can!!!
"You want any of that stuff? take it" Is the thing we all want to hear
:)
Great video work having him tell the story while loading!
thank you Dan , more great stories from Don to come :)
Great stuff, that guy was a hoot! Love the ending, too. Beautiful.
thank you Mark , the 1st day I was there I was just lost in cars and stories , I almost didn't have time to grab the 67 .
Liked that bus , it has lots of character . Our 61's had a one yr only taillight that was 50/50 in amber and red , Italy had the same in a 1 yr deal
👍 , hmm, I did not know that , thank you for sharing
Love the story Awesome story teller he sounds super nice YOUR VW Adventures ARE The Best 😁😁😁😁
The owner of all these cars, vans, trucks is a nice guy. I love the new addition to your bug family and your dog is so cool!
thank you Danny !
The Stories are the Best for these Bugs Cause they mostly Interchangeable! Parts
Love the stories ! And you have another victim to bring home. I know Jen will be thrilled thanks for sharing my breakfast with me !
thank you Ted , as Jen once said " there's always more " ...and there is :))
I remember ct inspections. It was brutal back in the 80s. They made you jump through hoops if your car was over 10 years old. Great video. That dog is adorable.
they sure did , I took a 78 Cutlass through and the inspector told me to park it " it was unfit for the road " ....I just drove off and had an easy on the eyes female take it through a different station ....passed her lol. Thank you Russ
I love Bug savers, i'm 46 and my mith is Herbie. In Italy when you take a car in a junkyard is lost forever.. The destination is the demolition .
That old Ford Wagon is cool!! Take it home!!
👍 , it might be time to upgrade the trailer and start using the F350
hi jason thats a lovely 64 beetle looks very original lovely dash nice find best of luck with the restoration i have a 1966 beetle with factory steel sunroof in ruby red
Amazing to find so many cars in such a good state in the woods after so many years.
Great video! You need to leave a few beetles for everyone else to rescue! I think you have enough! You are truly a VW addict!
Great video..Filled with CT DMV lore! Remeber it well! Thanks for sharing!
Old air cooled beetles. My favorite car over decades. I have owned 5 of them between 1983 and 1998. Happy to see you rescue some of them. Go ahead.
those stories are priceless
👍
right on great day you had forsure thumbs up shared great haul as well
Another good one Jason. The Gentleman talking had plenty of story's. Downtown earth guy!! I think you did great on this ol girl Jason.... 🎬 packed on will it start?? Yes.. You come up with thegood one's my friend!
Fantastic stories , nice vw. SAVED another gem. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and healthy 🇬🇧
That year distributor's is the best one! Only if the vacuum is completely sealed!!!; )
isn't it crazy I had never seen one until that one ?
The story sounded like something Arlo would tell on Thanksgiving...
Great job, I especially loved the voice-over of the conversation with the previous owner!!
What a lovely places you find. Amazing another vw.
thank you JcF
Ill take the Jeepster Commando and the Cherokee. I love my old jeeps!
👍
Nice to see another volkswagen Bug is on it*s way to being saved
Looks just just my dad’s yard. Good video
Really nice video and Don’s stories were gold. The 64 is nice, great job in rescuing the car and the puppy. Our dog was a rescue and she’s so loving...
loving the commentary in the background while you're loading it on the trailer... Nice story
This guy is cool, He reminds me of my Dad! My Dad used to say Parts is Parts!
:)))
awesome story. my dad same thing. still today his driving that beetle. he has a different engine numbers everything mixed. but in south Africa you pay people for papers. no problems
I had a 64 beetle just like that one in 1970. Same color and everything. I totaled it in 1971.
Another good find and another one saved from the scrapheap, both me and she who controls the purse had beetles when we were younger and loved 'em, how I wish I'd got the space you have, it'd be a good project in retirement atb from England
Dude, that was a great episode. Nothing better than getting a good history told first hand. I didn't even notice there was no will it run section! Keep it up! 🤝🇮🇪
thank you , much appreciated . I hope to hear this one running soon

thank you for the kind words man , I will check out your thread , thank you for letting me know👍
There must be something contagious about VWs because when I was growing up our next door neighbor had 10 acres worth of old Volkswagens of various models but mostly bugs. One neighbor drove a newer Bettle convertible for what seemed like forever until one day he finally bought what I assume was his dream car a Porsche Boxster convertible. I guess he'd been saving his money driving the old Beetle all those years so he could buy his Porsche. There's probably a lesson in that story somewhere. Myself, I've owned three, a 65 Beetle, a 71 Beetle and a 75 Scirocco. If I get another one it'll be an early 70s well maintained stock one. I'm older and wiser now so I won't try to motocross it and race it and tear it all up.
That car is so nice and has all of the parts I love the videos keep them up 👍
Sweet dog with obvious good taste :-) You just keep finding them (Beetles I mean) it is amazing. Cheers 👍
Oh man that Fairlane wagon. Wow!
Good video. He knew a lot about bugs. Guess the spare door was to the replace the one that got dented.
That was fun. Great story from the old fella. I saw Mustie in Crusty, lol.
Awsome, needs a new life, second chance😀👍
Cute puppy😀😀
Dear 5150mxVV
👍👌👏 Simply fantastic! Maaaan, what a great VW rescue video. Additionally with an awesome good storyteller who reminds every detail!
At last you found even 2 bugs with dashboards in great shape. Congrats! I'm eagerly waiting to see how the condition of the beige car is. And of course to hear the good looking engine runnin'.
I hope that you will rescue all least the blue bug and maybe even the 2l bus too. With that engine it can be a good daily driver for someone. Maybe somebody even likes the Hippie style paint job.
2) Meanwhile I definitely understand the benefits of your very short, one axle hauling trailer. It's much more maneuverable and high enough for not getting stuck in rough terrain.
3) Now I know that you are 8 years younger than I am. Additionally I now know your month of birth. By the way: In November my very best friend (since way over 40 years) has his birthday also. This year it was even a Friday the 13th! :-)
As always: Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and health to all of you (including the new- used ;-) cool puppy of course).
Postscriptum: I pray that the steak dinner for Jen has done the trick so that you are allowed to have even more Volkswagen fence length. ;-)
P.P.S. Sir, I definitely miss your appreciated answers very much. What have I done/wrote/said wrong? Will you please be so kind and tell me? Thanks in advance.
Great story, loved that paint job on the bay window van.
👍 , hopefully more soon on the Bus
hey you should grab that other "parts car" OMG it might have the matching numbers in it you need to make that one legit.
Now this was a very interesting video. That old guy had a lot of cool stories about the cars. I truly enjoyed this. thank you for making it!
Thank you , more cars & stories to come from Don's place , great to hear you enjoyed it
That john Deere at the beginning is really cool, it’s either a 330 or 320 which is really rare and worth lots of money. Not many made in yellow
thank you JDP , I appreciate it
Great find! 1of none.. a 61/64 lol. What a great story from previous owner.. That guy probably has many more.
thank you Rick , many more to come , wait until you hear about the road trips in the 1912 !
