- In this tutorial we will show you how to use the VST sounds of EZdrummer 3 instead of the internal module sounds of your e-drumset. What you need to set in your computer, you will learn here. We use the popular MPS-850 e-drumset from Millenium.

I have a td6-v era set.Ezx by Toontrack has made my kit sound astronomically better!!! And sometimes I will combine the original sounds with the software sounds for even more combinations,In my DAW.
Hi, do you know how to configure the rimshot?
Thanks
Hi. I have the same e-drums, but I'm using just the USB directly to a Mac where I have Logic Pro installed. I had an audio interface for a while but I could not make it work. Would you mind explaining the connection setup with an external audio interface? Thanks
Hey 😊 I'm the guy who made the video. I'm explaining the process with an external audio interface in the video. If you are having trouble getting your audio interface to work you might look for videos about that particular model 😊 Cheers!
Great video I’ll definitely use this when I set up my kit. Question, are you able to jam along to music using Spotify for example while using EZD and hearing the drums with your music? If so how do you do it? I’m using td17, usb to midi into MacBook. Do headphones plug into module or Mac? Do I need an interface to do it? Thanks!
I'm in the same position. My understanding is that you either need an audio interface or a DAW.
I got all my stuff set up and you don’t need an audio interface or DAW unless you want to record yourself then you need a DAW. EzD3 works as a standalone plugin for e drums. So it can run by itself. I run my td17 module into the MacBook with a usb cable, and plug my headphones into my MacBook. I can use Spotify on my MacBook while running EZD and can hear them both, and adjust the volume of each individually
@@stanleyipkiss3806 I'm kinda doing the same as you but I'm running youtube on the mac instead of spotify and it seems to mess up ezdrummer as I'm running them at the same time on the same device, anyway I can fix that problem?
@@BC0101it’s probably because UA-cam requires too much energy from the computer while running EZD which also requires a lot of energy and it’s messing up EZD. I’d either just use Spotify or download the song on UA-cam and save it as an audio file to play to.
Can i connect the kit directly to the PC and use AD2 ou EzDrummer for example? I waiting for my Millenium MPS 750X Pro.
In Ezdrummer Standalone, can I load a WAV file to play Drums along and record the drum ?
How do you get your symbols to choke?
finally EZD include the LEARN midi Mapping... make me crazy en EZD2 search the midi note in the module
Hi Bonedo, can you please help me to configure ezdrums to my computer?
once i've installed the main program, it asks me to give the path to the midi and the EZXs library, i've choosen the default path of a midi bundle that i've found and set it to C:\ Programdata Toontrack etc etc..(the default one) , but nothing happens. do i need the core library? is this the cause?
because i haven't downloaded yet.
thank you for you kind help my friend.
The core library comes with the stand alone EZ drummer 3 program. I have a couple ideas. Did you set your edrum brain to connect to the ezdrummer program rather than it's own internal sounds?
Did you make sure that you chose the correct presets for your edrums in the ezdrum program? (He touches on that in this video)
Did you choose the correct input and output settings on your computer?
Are the virtual drums reacting to your hits on the edrums but you cant hear them, or are is the program not reacting at all?
thank for your answer Bonedo. actually i'm stucked in the initial configuration part. once i've finished to install the program and i open it, it asks the path to the correct Midi, EZKs and also the preset. but what should be the correct path for the preset? because i can't do the way you did it because i can't reach that point. i havent connect the MPS-850 to the computer, so, no the program can't react at all to the impulse of the edrum. any suggestions my friend?
@@RiccardoNorris yes down load the core library, hook everything up and see if your edrums show up on EZdrummer in the audio midi set up screen..
I thought I got an extra sounds library when I got the program but couldn't find the sounds so I was messing around with the path too, but it didn't end up being the issue.
make sure you have everything downloaded, open the program, make sure the drum sounds are there, connect your edrums etc.. I predict it will work.
what kind of computer are you using?
@@stsmith77 ok, thank you Smith, i will look for core library to download. i use a notebook with Windows 10.
@@stsmith77thank for your suggestion Smith, i've fix the problem, now i have a question: In Ezdrummer Standalone, can I load a WAV file to play Drums along and record the drum ?
I'm a little annoyed that the cross stick works this way on EZdrummer.. you shouldn't have to choose between crossstick and rimshot, you should be able to do both. On my td17 brain you can choose the pad, assuming you have the right snare pad, and tweek some and get it to function like an actual snare drum eg cross stick with the stick flat on the snare, rimshot where it should be etc.. so it's definitely possible..what's up with EZdrummer making it weird?
hi! i dont know if this is a bit of a dumb question, but is an audio interface necessary for this? thinking of getting the Millenium MPS 850 too, i just wanted to know if its module capabilities are good enough for someone who has never played drums before.
Yes, as the driver allows for the low latency that is needed for playing live. You can get fairly cheap ones that work well (focusrite/Audient etc)
@@NorthernMonkeyMusic thanks! ive seen some other drummers who said the regular USB port worked well enough for them, granted you have a beefy computer to handle it.
I have a roland td17 and plug it directly into my 5 year old gaming laptop. Selecting ASIO works perfect with zero latency. @@leoterss
I have an mps 850 I connect directly to my Mac and I use GarageBand + EZ2 , works really well no latency, I never configure buffer size at all
k!
So.... just curious as to why you clearly hooked up the blue USB cable to the backside of the drum module, yet, throughout the entire video, the blue USB cable is attached to the interface?
Why is it that? Are you new to these types of videos? And did that unintentionally? Or are you being deceptive?
LOL If you were really a good observer you would have noticed that there are 2 blue cables. The lighter blue cable is the one used for midi. And the darker blue for the interface. Look @ 1:53
