    Something that's not disclosed in this video that I feel is important to mention: Millenium is one of Thomann's own brands, so there is likely to be some bias in this video. That's not to take away from the impressive value of this kit, similar to how Harley Benton manages to make their instruments such high quality for their price range, but always keep some level of skepticism in mind.

    Thank you for this video! You have introduced me to the Millenium brand of drums and what a find! Based upon this video, it seems that the best value of the two would be the MPS-850. Getting the Millenium MPS-850 and Toontown Superior Drummer3 would sound better than the Yamaha kit and for about the same price you get the huge library of drumkits that Superior Drummer has. I strongly believe that this Millenium kit may just be the electronic kit that suits me best at this time. I have desired the Roland TDK17 but it is out of my price range. This kit, I believe I can swing and it seems like it would meet my needs nicely. Once again, a very useful video indeed!

    Thanks for doing that comparison. Really appreciated. I have an acoustic kit and it's two rooms away from a party wall and twice in 17 years my neighbour has complained about the noise. I suspect it's because they have retired and they are at home more. I tried installing some sponge acoustic panels but still hasn't worked, so been debating about getting an MPs 850. Wondered if you are able to confirm the dB comparison of an acoustic kit verses the MPs 850? I know that can depend on hard a hitter the drummer is especially when it comes to playing acoustic kits. Wondered what your view is on this?
    Thanks

      Get headphones the it won't matter...a small amp will never be as loud as a real kit.
      Also, a real kit now has amazing silent cymbals and heads, have come on leaps and bounds in recent years. Or buy triggers, keep your real kit and turn it 'electric'

    Hey! I have a problem of choosing a set to buy between mps-850 and mps-750x. I don't actually need extra tome and crash which come with 850, so my question is- is 750x's module better than 850? And is it overall quality improved?

    With the same amount of drums and cymbals, which is the better package?
    Also can I use my own hi-hat stand with the 850 if I already have a really good one from an acoustic kit?

    • @Trottelheimer
      @Trottelheimer Рік тому +2

      I've been pondering the same question. In the end the 805's module having DIN MIDI in and out decided it for me.
      AFAIK the hi-hat stand is standard, so you can use your own.

      @@TKbeatwerk - It doesn't matter.. I mean who the hell would use the module sounds anyway.. even if you got Rolands? Our drum module is connected to the usb-interface via MIDI and we use the sounds of a virtual instrument.. in our case EZDRUMMER 3. We also have a ton of presets we recorded in an actual professional drum recording studio and we can use those sounds also. Either way.. our drums sound always like they're already mixed and mastered in an a-class studio and we don't really have to do anything to the sounds themselves.

    Bought the MPS-850. Not too happy about it. They shipped the wrong power supply and told my to go find one locally because it's too expensive for them to ship one. Offered me $5.00. Cost me $20.00 at the store. Any other company would've apologized and sent me one overnight. Then I find out they gave me the worthless hi hat controller as in this video which does not use the Y adapter that is supposed to be included. Has only open/close/splash. No in between so it's nearly impossible to get a decent hi hat sound. The snare drum is super quiet compared to everything else, even when cranked up with the faders and everything lowered in volume. It also has super low output that I need to run through my audio interface with the gain and levels maxed out. I guess I should've spent more and bought from a real company like Roland or Yamaha. I'll never deal with the Germs again, their customer service stinks.

    Apples to Oranges comparison. The Yamaha is superior in every respect.
    This is also the entry level DTX6 kit - the K-2X adds a full, free-standing hi-hat and newer, premium kick pad.
    The only negative to the DTX6 range is the small pads.

    The 850 won't last near as long as the Yamaha and the Yamaha will hold its value. By the way let's think about what we are doing here people. We're beating something with sticks. You get what you pay for take a Yamaha cymbal and a millennium cymbal and just beat the hell out of then. I guarantee you the Yamaha cymbal will prevail or a roland for that matter. Why do you think a 16 inch roland cymbal cost as much as your whole millennium kit your beating something with sticks don't skimp on quality
