The shiny sound from PLA was such an awesome feature. I was once roaming around the Coronet Highlands. It was a dark, stormy night, so when I flew over the Alpha Rhyperior, I couldn't immediately tell it was shiny, until the shiny sound/sparkles played. It would have been fantastic in SV, especially with how small some pokémon like Pichu or Tandemaus are. And speaking of Tandemaus, barely noticable shinies would be so much easier to identify.
The problem is that the way pokemon despawn, tons of shinies would already be far gone by the time the sound plays. I think that the sparkle should come back, but not the sound.
Gamefreak have this approach to design where they like to make normative decisions about how you’re supposed to play their games. Other companies who make better games try to focus on giving you as much choice as possible as a player.
They should make it toggleable for every single mon in your party, imo. Maybe even make it into some kind of held item, where they give you six copies pretty early on in the game instead of doing something crazy like, I don't know, locking it to only one copy per file, and only giving it to you after catching 1/3rd of the entire regional Pokedex.
@jcnot9712 Game Freak forcing you to play how _they_ want? Next thing you know, you'll tell me that they have an addiction to patterns that has them forgo any sort of difficulty options and force one save file per game even when their contemporaries have been throwing them out like candy since the early-00s.
Overworld Ability effects should also come back since Pokémon have always been the focus in Pokémon that they can do other stuff outside of battles with people helping them.
My most wanted features I want they return: -Infinite TMs. Seriously, if GF wanted no cheating, why they turned one use tms? And even with that, I would not mind if you can get multiple easily, but you have to farm in order to get one which is tedous! -The Battle Tower (or variant) Once you finish the story and the DLC, you end up with NOTHING. Why the removed this Battle facility. I think it gives replayability to the game, now you have to pay an online suscription in order to have replayabilty beacuse if you not, Scarlet and Violet ends there, bye bye!
When XY introduced character customization, they hit peak. To this day I think it's by far the best version we ever got in any game. And that's saying a lot because I don't hold Gen6 in high regards in general.
U forgot to mention: 1.The Set Battle mode which was removed in SV. It was a series staple feature since 1996 Red and Blue. Most ppl speculate that this is done due to the Union Circle mode. This explains how incompetent GF really is. Kinda reminds us of the Challenge mode mess they made in Black2/White2 where they have given fake levels with exp benefits & the SwSh mess where they couldn't give us overworld shinies. They are really incompetent & are rushing for the Holiday season 2. Linking cord=An item that fixed trade evolutions in PLA no longer exists in SV. Bcoz we need to evolve backwards right? Just like SwSh did with LGPE Trade evos were outdated & really need rework just like how fangames do. They are kinda forcing u to take the Online subscription which is paywalled, which also helps in advertising the Ranked matches(which is a much bigger paywall)
I don't know if this really counts as a "feature" but they gotta replace Freeze with Frostbite going forward. Frostbite essentially being Burn for Special Attack was such a great idea, especially since then you could give it a dedicated move that inflicts it like the other statuses have.
1. I want Frostbite. Make it so that moves only have a 10% chance of inflicting it but the chance increase if the user is Ice type and another boost if Snow is on. I don't want Water types freezing everything with their Ice coverage moves, leave the task to Ice types. This mean the status move would also be like Toxic (only 100% accurate if the user is same type). Oh and Frost Orb would be nice. 2. I want Thick Fog back LOL. Maybe just make it so the accuracy is only affected when using single target moves. I want Sound immune to the accuracy drop. 3. Rotation and Triple battles. 4. Some of the old Frontier styles as battle formats (Arena, Palace, Arcade in particular) with lil modifications.
why would you want the return of the fog, if i recall, everyone hated it in gen 4 and why it only existed in DPP, since unless you used the HM defog, fog made the fights EVEN SLOWER then they already where
@@bulborb8756 coz it's funny. It was only annoying coz the NPCs were cheating and that the stat drop also affect spread moves, which don't make sense. If it was modified a bit, it would have been an interesting field effect.
Random grass encounters aren't a thing in S/V and what I really miss about them is their interaction with certain abiities. Like Synchronize to get a pokemon with the same nature or Magnet Pull to force steel type encounters. That was really cool imo!
If I were to tinker with the EXP share system, I'd remove EVs being given to Pokemon not participating in the battle and make a slider ranging from 0% to 50% exp shared in the options menu. That way people can find what works for them.
Rematches and fully fleshed out parties for random trainers in the world would be great, even if they aren’t as “good” as the BB elite four and Geeta but just showing the growth of trainers you’ve encountered throughout your journey as world building, so of course we won’t get it.
Sadly, that’ll almost certainly not happen since trade evolutions increase the chance of someone buying Nintendo Switch Online or even potentially using another Switch and SV copy to trade by yourself. So amazing
@@x_bell1142 Yes. I just really want one, seeing as Bottle Caps exist they need to make a reverse one. I have wanted this for years, and one guy kept leaking a 0 IV Bottle Cap but it never happened.
I want the Pokenav from ORAS or something functionally similar beastiary. "Here's every mon you've encountered in an area, with an indicator of wheter you've found them all or not. If you caught a member of species, can specifically search it out, with chain searches gradually increasing chances of shiny, egg moves, hidden abilities, perfect IVs"
I don't think the Exp share should be a held item or a key item. I think there should just be a toggle in the party menu to turn on or off sharing exp with each individual pokemon, and the options menu should have a setting for having shared exp turned on or off as default.
I can only play Gen 3 on my phone and thankfully the Exp Share is a key item than can be turned on and off. Then in Options we can set the Exp gain to x1, x1.5, x3 or x0. The latter you actually still gain exactly 1 XP, I suppose it was necessary so you can still gain EVs. I usually just set it to x2 since I play with the level cap on (based on difficulty on game start).
Okay this is gonna be a long explanation. Surely they made this decision(Forced Exp share) in a way that benefits them in ways a player won't even imagine: 1. Forced Exp share leads to overlevelling of the traded mons which don't obey you if they are above your current obedience level. Proof? They dislike u for using traded mons-NPCs, Mystery🎁,Home.... Try renaming the mons you get from in-game trades which are already renamed, it won't work. Why? Bcoz they are already nicknamed. Apart from this u have obedience issues too. As nice as they were for giving us a Gengar in SV via trade. The above restrictions are applied to it as well At the worlds🏆 🏆they literally encourage u to get the mon by yourself-meaning that u should buy both the versions to get all the mons u need 2. They aim to make the game too easy & the forced Exp share is a key for them. Proof? Why do u think Pokémon lacks a difficulty mode like other RPGs ? Why do u think base SV & SwSh are damm easy? The Gyms, E4 & Champion ain't any obstacle at all. This is prolly another reason why they haven't given us a battle facility too despite paying for the DLC This would most likely lead players into the Big game: Ranked battles/Tournaments which does have loads of paywalled mons as u already know.
I'm surprised you didn't mention how, in PLA, you can throw a pokeball at a pokemon without having to battle it. I would love if that were brought into the main series
