Thank you for discussing this topic. My Endocrinologist doesn’t acknowledge supplements as medicine and any time I ask him about these kinds of alternatives he gives me a generic response...”there is no research to support the effectiveness of...” I’m realizing that perhaps there is no supporting research because the medical industry doesn’t want the public to turn away from synthetic medicines. Long story short. I’ve put myself on a regimen of 1500 mg of Berberine (500mg 3x daily) and 4000 mg of ovasital(myoinositol and D-chiro 40:1 ratio) per day. Ive been on this for about 8 days with no experienced gastrointestinal disturbance! I cannot say the same for metformin where after 10 days I had to stop taking. I realize self medicating is not the safest way but I’m working on finding a new doctor that supports supplement use. I will be getting blood work after 45-60 days to see if there have been any changes to my insulin levels. I monitor my blood glucose daily with a meter. Thinking about adding a curcummin supplement to help with inflammation. I’m also fasting daily 15-18 hrs with a low glycemic/semi Keto diet. Making sure I get 7-8 hours of sleep per night and starting yoga and light weight lifting. Sometimes I wonder if I should incorporate metformin at maybe 500 mg daily to this regimen although I’m not inclined to do so. I want to see if the natural supplements really work by themselves. Wish me luck 🤷🏽♀️😇. I don’t like the fact that metformin forces insulin into resistant cells who have decided to block insulin. Should we really be over riding our body’s natural intelligence? Also could you reference or provide links to some of the studies you’ve read that support this topic?
I love that you took charge of your Health. To be honest doctors are right in a way, it is illegal for them to prescribe something that hasn’t been tested for enough time. So even if they want too they can’t 😅 I really hope berberine will end up being confirmed as efficient as metformin (studies so far show so)! And great to hear that you had no stomach issues! I was super interested to hear from someone who actually takes it! 🤗 please make sure you let me know how it worked on your insulin either here or in dm on Instagram. I would love to know from real life person 🙂🙃@agatapawlak.ig. I’ll find the articles and update description in a minute !
@@AgataPawlak I have been taking 1000mg of berberine a day and a dose of chromium picolinate for 6 months and my blood sugar levels have dropped from 120 to 80 and remain stable.
Berberine gave me my first natural period in 40 years. I have had none of the side effects that Metformin gave me. I highly recommend it to anyone with Insulin Resistant PCOS.
I started taking berberine with Ceylon cinnamon a couple weeks ago. The first thing I noticed was my blood pressure dropped almost immediately. I stopped taking my prescription about 9 months ago, it just wasn't doing anything. BP dropped from 145/90 to 130/75 with berberine. Pulse dropped from 90 bmp literally overnight. I'm going to give it about a month to see where my blood sugar registers.
I was put on metformin for PCOS years ago. I could not get past the constant nausea. So bad to where my chin would be trembling because vomiting was always just seconds away. Haha. The stomach pain and vomiting was a no go for me. I'm doing berberine now. Zero side effects.
Appreciate this. Two ‘but’- 1 not a fan of the music but that’s just me :) 2 what’s the evidence that natural is necessarily better than synthetic? ❤ not trying to criticise!
I recently started taking Metformin, about 10 days ago. It seems to be interfering with my ability to sleep. For example, at bedtime, I start to fall asleep normally and then about 30-45 minutes later, I suddenly wake up. Then after I fall back to sleep, I only get about 6-7 hours. I wake up drowsy and frustrated because I cherish my sleep. Also, I take the metformin in the evening with dinner, but I have noticed that I get really lightheaded and dizzy within 30 minutes of taking it. The dizziness seems to be getting worse with each day I take it. I ordered some berberine online as soon as my doctor prescribed metformin, with the intention of taking something a bit less intense. It just arrived, so I plan to start taking the berberine tonight and will see if I continue to have the extreme dizzy spells. Thank you for your helpful video. I wish you much success in your health journey 🙏
You’re the first person I’ve met with the same exact hair as me. Makes me sad we are both going through the horrible struggles of PCOS and hypothyroidism. I’m also on keto and trying to add whole grains and had lentils today.

How to use

We can take Berberine with inositol together please?
Yes you can! That shouldn't be an issue!
Yes you can. I like Ovasitol
Yes I just left my endocrinologist and she said I can take both without taking metformin

Thank you
Can I take berberrine and magnesium together
I don't see why not :)
And potassium
Should I continue metformin when I start betberine?
If you still use metformin and want to start berberine make sure you contact your doctor. Taking both or rapidly stoping one can be dangerous !
